John PriceChief Executive Officer
John is the CEO of Vast.com. Prior to Vast, John served as vice president of marketing and business development at Between Markets, which was sold to Inovis. Before BetweenMarkets, John spent 11 years as vice president of marketing and business development at enterprise software company Trilogy, Inc, where he was critical to the company’s growth from $0 to $250 million in revenue. Previously, John was a director of technical marketing at Neuron Data and an AI associate at Shell Oil. John holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
Chad Bockius is the CMO of Vast where he leads the product and go-to-market efforts of CarStory, a suite of products offering the most comprehensive market insights for used cars around the nation. He brings more than 15 years of high tech & executive experience from companies such as Bazaarvoice, Socialware and Trilogy. Chad has combined his automotive expertise with a deep understanding of online marketing to help dealers and OEMs tap into the power of big data to help build consumer confidence and accelerate decisions. Chad earned a Bachelors of Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University, resides in Bee Cave, TX with his wife and two children, where he served on the City Council for 6 years and continues to give back to the community as the Founder/President of the Bee Cave Arts Foundation.
David Franke, PhDChief Scientist
Dr. David Franke is Vast’s Chief Scientist. Prior to Vast, David managed a team in the Search Quality Evaluation group at Google responsible for determining user intent based on search query patterns. Before Google, David founded Refactor Labs, LLC, a consulting firm that specializes in Data Mining solutions, and was an Assistant Professor at St. Edwards University in Austin, where he taught Computer Science at New College and the Graduate School of Management and Business. David previously worked for Trilogy Software as Chief Scientist, where he was the principal developer of Trilogy’s flagship product, SalesBUILDER, and was involved in sales, product and technology research, as well as interviewing, recruiting, and mentoring Trilogy’s senior technical contributors. He also managed Trilogy’s IP portfolio and defined and developed Trilogy’s development methodology. David has also been a Senior Member, Technical Staff at MCC, and a Senior Member, Technical Staff at Texas Instruments, Inc. He received his doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin. David holds seven issued patents and has two more pending in configuration, rule mining, and thin-client web interfaces.
Thomas Patrick Kelly serves as CFO for Vast.com, a venture-backed internet services company based in Austin, Texas. Prior to joining Vast.com, Kelly was interim CFO for Panera Bread, leading all finance and accounting teams for the bakery-café company. Prior to joining Panera, Kelly was interim CFO for Hawker Beechcraft Corp., a Wichita, Kan. based aerospace manufacturing company. Before joining Hawker Beechcraft, he served as interim CEO at ExpressJet, a regional airline in Houston, Texas. Kelly has also held a number of senior financial positions at Vignette Corp., which was acquired by Open Text Corp.; Dell, Inc.; Trilogy Enterprises; Sabre Holdings; and American Airlines.
Graham SandersonChief Technology Officer
Graham is responsible for Vast's technology stack for leveraging Big Data. Graham has a long, broad experience with computers and technology, starting his programming career at age 10 in his bedroom, and he now has a deep knowledge of languages, technologies and frameworks. Graham has worked at some of Austin's most successful companies, leading the journey to take Trilogy's SalesBUILDER flagship product from the desktop to the web, architecting Lombardi Software's (now IBM) Blueprint ground-breaking back end, and leading a complete transformation of Lombardi's flagship product, TeamWorks. He has a profound respect for other people's software, and can often be found picking through the codebase of many open source projects! Graham received his MA in Electrical Engineering and Information Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
Jeff VanDykeChief Operating Officer
Jeff is the Vast's Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Jeff is responsible for organizing, aggregating and managing operations and data to ensure actionable insights are delivered to Vast's automotive, real estate and travel customers. Prior to Vast.com, Jeff served as a leader of Trilogy's Automotive Business Unit where he was responsible for devising, directing and deploying a global product definition solution for Automotive OEMs. Prior to Vast.com, Jeff worked for the MIT Laboratory for Computer Science with a focus on long-lived, widely distributed data systems. Jeff has one issued patent and holds BS and M.Eng degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.
Angie SherrellSVP Strategic Market Development
Angie Sherrell brings over thirty years of progressively responsible experience centered on automotive technology and marketing services. Her background consists of information technology management, big data, digital strategy and execution, dealer services and computer operations, direct marketing and business process re-engineering. Sherrell had served as Managing Director of Dataium in Nashville, TN, from October of 2013 through August of 2014. Beginning in 2002, she worked for GS Marketing, Houston, TX and retired from the company in January 2013, as President/CEO. Prior to GS Marketing, she worked for Gulf States Toyota, and held numerous operations, service and marketing positions, including Director of Dealer Services, Director of Information Strategy and Director of eBusiness that began in 1984.
Doug EddyVice President of Business Development
As the Vice President of Business Development for Vast Doug is responsible for the continued growth of Vast's business lines, including strategy and development within the rapidly-unfolding opportunities of Big Data for Big Purchases. He also oversees the day-to-day relationships and account growth of Vast's clients, partners and publishers. Prior to Vast, Doug led business development for AOL Marketplace, which included the Autos, Real Estate, Travel and Careers verticals. Prior to that, Doug held sales and account development roles at a range of online start-ups and interactive agencies. Doug holds a BS in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University.
Mike MalinowskiVice President of Real Estate Strategy
Mike is responsible for developing and executing the overall Real Estate Business Strategy, growing existing and new agent, broker, franchise and corporate partnerships and strategic business engagements.
Mike has an extensive and diverse background in Technology, Management and Real Estate. Previously he held positions as Head of Product Management and Head of IT Business Consulting at Keller Williams Realty International where he co-created the industries first ever "Lead to Close" real estate productivity application for 115,000 agents and reaches over 10M consumers. Mike also worked in the cellular/GPS industry at Qualcomm and later created a GPS retail product line and distributed to over 1000 stores nationwide for Directed Electronics. Mike has owned and operated a real estate team in Austin for the past 10 years. Mike has a BS from Texas A&M University.
Andrew MooreVP of Product Management
Andrew is Vice President of Product Management at Vast. He is responsible for supporting the growth and continued development of Vast's core marketplace offerings, guiding both short and long-term strategic direction, and overseeing the launch of new product lines. Prior to Vast, Andrew worked at Kelton Research, a strategic marketing consultancy in Los Angeles. Andrew holds a BA from Northwestern University and an MA from Stanford University, which, historically, has made for challenging television on Saturdays in the fall.
Ilija DuniCountry Manager, Serbia
Ilija is Vast's Country Manager in Serbia, and the Director of the Data Acquisition, Normalization and Delivery team. Ilija helped setting up Vast's offices in Serbia and oversaw its growth from a small team to a global company. Prior to Vast, Ilija ran a Motorola franchise operation in Serbia. Ilija holds a BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Belgrade.
Marijana Ljubas TesanovicCountry Manager, Serbia
Marijana is Vast's Country Manager in Serbia, and the Director of Professional Services. Marijana is responsible for managing technical deliveries and the day-to-day communication with Vast's clients. Prior to Vast, Marijana led the engineering team at MLS Co, a commercial company in Serbia. Marijana holds a BS degree in Computer Science from California State University Northridge.
