Location: Albany, NY Description: NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids to Renovate the Pavilion at Robert Moses State Park, Town of Massena, St. Lawrence County New York will be received by the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Thousand Islands Region, at Keewaydin State Park, 45165 NYS Route 12, PO Box 247, Alexandria Bay, New York 13607 until August 12, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. when they will be publicly opened and read. Each bid must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and must be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a certified check, a bank check or a bid bond in the full amount of $ 15,000.00. Contract includes but is not limited t Providing all labor, material, and equipment necessary to Renovate the Beach Area Pavilion at Robert Moses State Park. The steel skeletal structure and stone columns/steel beam pockets shall be re-used. The entire wood roof system will be replaced, as well as the structural laminated beams. The laminated beams will be replicated by Una-lam, Inc. of Unadilla, New York, or approved equal. To insure an exact replication, one each of the two different style beams will be trucked to Una-lam for on-site measurements. Dismantling and trucking to Una-lam will be the responsibility of the contractor. The new beams will be pressure preservative treated and stained brown. The beam ends shall receive lead coated copper cap flashing for protection from the weather where they extend beyond the eves of the building. Also, the 4 thick concrete floor that caps the 34 thick concrete perimeter beams, will be replaced. An EPDM membrane/foam insulation roof will be applied to the timber decking, along with metal flashing and roof crickets. A fixed wire-glass skylight is also part of the roof system. A minor electrical portion of this contract will include the following. Each of the six stone columns have electrical conductors running to them. One of the stone columns has a junction box (12x8x6deep). Two 1-1/4 galvanized conduits feed this junction box from an electrical panel in the Concession building. From the junction box a 1/2 galvanized conduit branches out to each column to energize an outlet. The General Contractor will be responsible for checking the integrity of the conduit, installing new wires/outlets, and connecting new 1-1/4 conduits from the edge of the Pavilion slab to the electrical panel in the Concession building. A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Meeting at the site has been scheduled for July 29, 2008 @ 10:00 AM. All Prospective Bidders will meet at the Robert Moses State Park Information Center. Absence from this meeting disqualifies any potential bidders. This contract is subject to the provisions of Article 15-A of the Executive Law.
