Walk dogs or socialize with cats Adoption counseling Greet and guide shelter visitors Animal grooming Mobile adoption events Fundraising support Take enticing photos of the animals for the website Take animals to TV appearances Stuff Kong dog toys Humane education Clerical support Handy work around the shelter Prepare adoption goody bags Sewing projects such as bandanas and bedding Be a lost and found coordinator Foster animals needing out-of-shelter care for illness, injury or extra socialization Help with Laguna LAP CATS adult cat offsite adoption program Help with Friends of Unwanted Rabbits (F.U.R.) offsite adoption program Donate Supplies or Funds Every volunteer makes a difference! The first step to volunteering is to attend a New Volunteer Orientation, which are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Orientation is held at 4145 Branch Center at the corner of Kiefer and Branch Center in the Cooperative Extension Building around the corner from the shelter (orientations are not held at the shelter). An application and other required forms will be provided at orientation (please bring a pen). Teens must attend with a parent or guardian. No appointment is necessary to attend. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to have hands-on contact with the animals. Applicants must be free of criminal record.
