Description:The Old Rectory is a square, Georgian, pale brick house which sits in the middle of its extensive grounds. It has a walled garden with large borders, a small arboretum, a parterre, paved terraces on three sides of the house allowing for the capture sunshine at all times of the day. There is a hard tennis court (not floodlit) and an outdoor swimming pool (heated 1st April to 30th October). It has stables and outbuildings, one containing a table tennis table and in another there is a billiard table e28093 both stables are lit but not heated. Great Hockham is in the centre of Brecklands, an area of environmental sensitivity. Within 500m of the house is the Peddars Way, a Roman road which joins the Norfolk coastal path providing 96.5 miles of walks through National Nature Trails. Peddars Way consists of leafy paths and tree-lined trails. The village has a public house and local shops can be found at Watton, a market town 6 miles away. Wymondham is a 15 minute drive and offers a variety of boutiques and gift shops. Norwich is 25 minutes by car. The famous Norfolk beaches of Brancaster and Holkham are approximately 30 miles away.
