It's a swanky one-bedroom apartment on the ground floor of an historic building (casa colectiva Bernardino Rivadavia... which even has its own Wikipedia page). We knocked down a wall to open the kitchen up to the living room and desk space. Just beyond the kitchen is a patio/breakfast room surrounded by windows. The bathroom is spacious and the fresh polished cement floors feel great on bare feet. The best thing about the Depto though is its location. San Telmo is the most authentic neighborhood in Buenos Aires. It's got a bohemian artsy vibe to it. Defensa, the main street, is packed with antique shops, cool boutiques, rustic eateries, and street vendors and performers galore on Sundays. The apartment comes with a pre-paid cell phone and a land line for local calls, WiFi, speakers for connecting an iPod or MP3 player, a TV and DVD player (with movies), an AC, two gas heaters, a fully equipped kitchen, a microwave, a filtered water pitcher, a hairdryer, guidebooks, maps, books, adaptors for electrical devices, linens (for all four beds), towels, and friendly hosts!
