The left wing of this Palladian mansion is entirely enough room for your needs, and you have a huge property to exploree28094filled with classic Italian gardens, statues, and a variety of trees. You can while away the days strolling about the estate, swimming in the pool, or take the train into Venice for the day. Eat out, cook your own food, or sit back and relax while a chef prepares your meal right on the estate. n n(7 hectares) nThis Palladian villa was built in the second half of the 16th century by the noble Marcello family of Venice. A well-preserved example of Renaissance architecture, the 16th century complex is structured with a central main building flanked by arcaded wings. A large, independent three-story apartment in the left wing is available for rental. It is furnished with antiques, period paintings, and objets d 'arts that have been in the family since the 16th century. The apartment was restored in 1990 and partially refurbished in 2003. Most rooms have original parquet floors and ceilings with plaster moldings. The bathrooms are done in hand painted Vietri tiles and have new fixtures. A member of the Marcello family resides in a separate part of the villa and is available to welcome guests and offer assistance during their stay. Outdoor amenities include a classic Italian garden with a fountain, Greek mythical statues, flower beds, and lawns. The park (7 hectares) is fully enclosed and is framed by rows of hornbeams, limes, and oaks. Outbuildings include a dove cote and chapel. There is a large fish pond with running water and woods with century-old trees. When you turn the corner and enter the living room, your eye is taken directly to the distant sea and you feel you are one with the water. nThe living room is comfortably laid out for seating 12 or more people with glove leather sofas and chairs surrounding a marble coffee table. The living area also serves as the main dining room with a table that can seat 10 comfortable in hand carved Jamaica chairs. nLounge chairs surround the large infinity pool and alfresco dining can be enjoyed at a second dining pavilion that can seat 8. Description:Perched high above the crashing sea, Villa La Fregate affords serenity, privacy and magnificent views of westerly islands and sunsets. Float in the large, heated vanishing edge pool or enjoy sunbathing on large decks listening to outdoor speakers or the sound of the waves. Alternatively, enjoy ample covered spaces for dining or relaxing outdoors or inside. r n r nThe Villa has the same gorgeous view. The furnishings are traditional, with European and American antiques and reproductions, custom-made bed and sofa coverings, and wonderful original oil paintings and artwork. There are marvelous breezes to dispel mosquitos, but every room is air conditioned and has screens. r nThe bedroom has an ensuite bathroom attached, with an extra half-bath and outdoor shower so that other visitors do not have to use the personal bathrooms. Each bedroom has a safe, an ironing board and iron, hair dryer, clothes hamper and storage for tw shelves or bureau drawers, and two sources for hanging clothes. Beautiful linens, fluffy towels and expensive mattresses and pillows make for pleasant stays! r n r nThe Salon/Living area has comfortable sofas and chairs, a large flat-screen TV, a Wii system, an office desk with computer, printer/ FAX machine, and WiFi throughout the villa. r nA Gourmet kitchen makes it easy to create fabulous repasts! There are two Miele dishwashers, a Viking range and oven, a Subzero refrigerator, an Advantium microwave/convection oven, a Dacor warming drawer and a wine cooler/cave au vin, as well as a large stainless steel grill outside and myriad pieces of kitchen equipment, from blenders to Fondue pots! r nBedding consists of one King-sized and one Queen-sized bed, with the other two bedrooms having side-by-side twin beds which can be configured as Kings.
