Description:One of Camps Bay’s original homes, the cottage has been totally revamped into a stylish four bedroom holiday house whilst still retaining its simple, beach-style character. One of the best things about the property is its incredible location. Camps Bay beachfront is very close less than a 200m stroll from the front door down a palm lined walkway. Despite being so close to the buzz, the cottage suffers no noise due to its secluded panhandle location off The Drive, a quiet residential road. From the moment you come in through the front gate and meander along the boardwalks into the large, lush and shady garden, surrounded by views of the Twelve Apostles and Lions Head mountains, you feel as though you have entered a haven. Floating timber decks lead you through the lushest garden imaginable filled with hibiscus, lavender and all sorts of flowers and scents. The property is very different from many of the ultra-modern steel, glass and concrete homes on the Atlantic Seaboard, and it offers a lovely sense of space and peace. The property is spacious and airy and it enjoys a wonderful flow from outside to inside. The lounge opens up completely to the generous patio and pool deck, which overlooks the garden. Description:Away from the crowds! A great family home overlooking the sea, a vineyard, and 28 cows, nestled in the Chapman's Peak amphitheatre. 3 bedrooms, a study and 2 bathrooms (or 2 bedrooms and 2 studies, both with ADSL) would suit a family that wants a holiday amid world cup fever, equipped with all you need to keep in touch with offices elsewhere if you need to. Transport: I have a shuttle service on standby (as an optional extra) to bring you from the airport straight home. If you want to hire a car, there is parking for 2. The house has easy access to the highway -- literally 4 corners to take and you are on the M3 straight into central Cape Town, 28km away via the scenic Ou Kaapse Weg. Or take the world's most beautiful drive along Chapman's Peak Drive / Hout Bay / Camps Bay and you're in town in 32km after only two corners. If you're not planning on renting a car, getting into town is not too hard -- the taxi route stops in front of our house, and you can get to Fish Hoek station and take a train into central Cape Town along the seafront railway. Our house is spacious and cosy in winter -- a closed fireplace will keep you toasty, and big north-facing windows let the southern sun in. Wooden floors throughout, with a huge bedroom upstairs with views over the vineyard, Chapman's Peak, the cows and the ocean. Downstairs -- a room with two bunkbeds that would suit younger fans, a second room equipped with ADSL, and a study with two ADSL points. Equipped with a dishwasher, a washer-dryer, microwave, gas stovetop with hob, and an electric oven. Big beautiful kitchen with a large dining table that seats 8 - 10. A front porch overlooks the sea -- great for barbecues/braais -- and a back porch looks up at the mountain. Benches and patio furniture and space for a hammock. Noordhoek Farm Village is walking distance away -- great restaurants, a deli, and intriguing shops, with a big outdoor play area for children. There are plenty of horse stables around if you'd like to arrange a ride, and plenty of walks on mountain and beach. Silvermine has a huge dam -- good to braai or catch (and release) fish with kids. Long Beach Shopping Mall is 5 mins away by car for supermarkets &c.
