A mere 2 km. from the attractive unspoilt beaches, sandy coves and rocky inlets of the Bay of Biscay, it stands on the outskirts of the picturesque hamlet of Lledias. A charming two-storey building, comfortably furnished throughout to ensure a pleasurable stay. The ground floor, surrounded on three sides by large picture windows allowing plenty of sunlight to flood into the house, comprises an entrance hall, a single bedroom with en suite bathroom and a large L-shaped area encompassing the fully-equipped kitchen, dining room and living room. The upstairs accommodation includes one double and two twin bedrooms, with a bathroom and shower. The house backs on to a large garden with an attractively-landscaped swimming pool, an outdoor dining area with table and chairs, and ample sun loungers. The garden is profusely planted with trees and flower-beds to provide a natural yet well-tended environment offering plenty of quiet corners in which to relax in the open air. Salmon and trout fishing, horse-riding, trekking and climbing are just some of the many outdoor activities available in the area, while the nearby towns of Posada de Llanes, Rivadesella and Llanes, a few minutes' drive away, offer a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops. For those interested in history and ancient buildings, the region of Asturias abounds in churches and other architectural and historical monuments. Ground floor: Access through a large square shaped hall with a guest toilet on its right and a small bedroom on the left containing one single bed (0.90m x 1.80m) with en suite bathroom with shower that also is accessed from the hall. From the hall, you have two entrances to the L shaped open plan kitchen, dining room and living room surrounded by glass windows on three sides. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, microwave, ceramic hob, oven and dishwasher. The dining area consists of a dining table for 8 people. In between the dining area and the living area we have 4 wicker chairs with a round stone table ideal for card games. The living area contains 2 plush large white sofas and one easy chair with a coffee table in the center and a stove. It also contains flat screen TV, DVD and music equipment. First floor: Two twin bedrooms (0.90m x 1.90m) and one double bedroom with queen sized bed (1.50m x 1.90m). They all share one bathroom with a shower. Grounds: a large garden (4000 m2) contains a table with seating for six under a palm tree next to the house, a gazebo with small table and four chairs, a irregular shaped swimming pool of approximately 5m in diameter with wood-decking and sun lounges. Description:La Casona is surrounded by a large stone wall providing complete independence and privacy. This beautiful period property, dating back to the end of the 18th century, is a typical Asturian country house. It has been restored, decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Outside, the extensive grounds of 10,000 m2, with a well cared for front lawn, and at the back, a large area of land planted with fruit trees. La Casona is located on the edge of the charming hamlet of Lledias, directly beneath the foothills of the Picos de Europa mountain range, yet only five minutes from the coast. The house is an ideal location from which to explore the surrounding area and partake in the numerous activities that it offers, such as salmon and trout fishing, horse riding, climbing and trekking. A couple of minutes away is Posada de Llanes, a small town, where plenty of bars, restaurants and most other important services can be found. In the attractive fishing harbour towns of Rivadesella to the west and Llanes to the east you will find numerous restaurants where you can sample the excellent seafood accompanied by a refreshing glass of the local cider. The nearest beaches, unspoilt sandy coves, protected by dramatic rocky cliffs, are only a five minute drive away.
