Description:Awarded the coveted 5 star rating in the holiday accommodation category by the French Tourist Board in 2012, Manoir les Gaillardoux is equally suited for get-togethers of large groups of family or friends or for intimate parties. Situated near Montdoumerc in the Quercy Blanc, Midi-Pyrenees, the Manoir offers space, privacy, style and comfort. The luxury of a heated swimming pool, the leafy trees of the park, dinner under the stars on the terrace or, on cooler evenings, by the log fire in the spacious dining room... the Manoir delights our discriminating guests. Stone-built 18th Century Manoir Les Gaillardoux sits in its own 1.25 hectare park and orchard and features fine examples of the local architecture. The Manoir has been recently internally modernised to provide well-equipped and comfortable accommodation to welcome 12 guests indoors and out, whilst retaining the traditional features of a French country manor. Rooms are spacious, generously furnished and ideal for entertaining both large and intimate parties. The Manoir is centrally heated throughout, while the dining room, which easily seats 12, has a wide open stone fireplace for winter or cooler autumn evenings. The two living rooms, the Grand salon (drawing room) and the Petit salon, are spacious and bright. The drawing room has comfortable seating for at least twelve guests, but at the same time provides an ideal atmosphere for a cosy winter get-together or a smaller intimate party. Further living space is provided by the billiard room, where there is a separate TV and DVD player for the children. The Master bedroom suite comprises a large bedroom with double bed, boudoir, dressing room and en-suite bathroom with double washbasin, large shower and Jacuzzi, and separate en-suite WC. The further five bedrooms each have an en-suite shower room (WC, double wash basin, shower), and the beds can be made up as single or double beds to suit guests' needs. A cot is available on request. The fully equipped Gourmet kitchen includes two dishwashers, an American fridge freezer/ice dispenser, two ovens, an electric hob with four large induction rings, two gas rings, an electric deep fryer, microwave, electric toaster, kettle, coffee maker, blender/slicer and semi-professional cooking utensils ... and manuals to help with initial use. There is an ample supply of crockery and glassware. The laundry room has two Miele washing machines and a tumble dryer. The Manoir offers entertainment for all the family: LCD wide screen satellite TV with DVD player, quality music centre, billiard room with children's TV and further DVD. For contact with home, there is ASDL / wireless broadband internet access (in our experience, mobile phones and blackberries work perfectly on the property), and combined fax/answering machine/copier/telephone. A large Australian gas BBQ and quality furniture are available on the spacious terrace for outside eating. The large, partly-walled heated swimming pool faces south and can be enjoyed from late spring to October. Suitable for children, with steps and a gentle slope leading to diving depth, the pool has a sound ringing security alarm but is not fenced. 12 loungers with cushions and some sunshades are arranged on a stone paved terrace. The garden offers areas of shade and sunshine for play or relaxation, including boules. A further shower room with washbasin and separate WC/cloakroom on the ground floor is easily accessible from the swimming pool and garden. The columned coach house provides parking for up to 5 cars, further parking is available in the grounds with easy unloading access for luggage/shopping. Additional information about rental rates: Our weekly fee includes thorough cleaning of the interior of the Manoir and a generous weekly supply of bath and pool towels. Enjoy the experience of arriving at a welcoming, sparkling clean Manoir, feel at home and start your holiday straight away with a cool drink while you peruse our Welcome Book, full of ideas and information to help you make the most of your precious holiday. Additional services may be possible by arrangement, to be quoted individually. Special taxi rates have been agreed with a local taxi firm to take and bring back guests to local restaurants within an approximate 60km radius of the Manoir, and for airport collection and return (Toulouse and Bergerac). Private flyers arriving at Lalbenque aerodrome can also be collected by arrangement. See our website www.ManoirLesGaillardoux.com WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY: The Manoir was the perfect place for our summer holiday. We were a group of 3 families with children ranging from 20 months to 8 years old. We loved the peaceful and picturesque location and it was lovely to allow the children to play and roam around the beautiful property. The views from the property are stunning and we enjoyed many meals outside on the patio just taking in the gorgeous countryside and slow sunsets. The Manoir itself is very spacious and comfortable. We all slept very well and also enjoyed cooking in the well provisioned kitchen. Our days were spent either exploring the surrounding area or in the pool. Some of us also went skydiving one day at the local aerodrome which was fantastic and so close by! I would definitely recommend the property and hope we get the chance to visit again. Caitlin C, London (Summer 2012) In August 2012 we spent 2 wonderful weeks at Manoir Les Gaillardoux. We were a family party of 10, with ages ranging from 9 years to the mid seventies. The house accommodated our varying needs to perfection. With 6 young people ensconced in the cleverly adapted wing with billiard room, TV and access to their own outside entrance through the small conservatory, whilst the rest of us luxuriated in the quiet and elegant main part of the house. Everything in the Manoir has been tastefully done with an eye for comfort and peace. The well-facilitated kitchen and laundry area made our day-to-day living so easy whilst holidaying with my family. The grounds were well tended and gave one private areas to read, ruminate or just enjoy the beautiful country views, whilst the more active members of the party were occupied in the pool area or just lounging on the comfortable sunbeds. I totally recommend the enchanting Manoir to anyone who wishes to holiday in tranquil and elegant surroundings whilst exploring this beautiful area of France. Mrs H, UK (Summer 2012) We spent a wonderful week in the Manoir which was spacious enough to accommodate our large group of 11. There was something for the older and younger members of our party. A splash in the pool or just a game of petanque on the gravel. The Manoir is tastefully restored and decorated. There are plenty activities to choose from. As the villa is close to Cahors, shopping trips are within reach. The Manoir is also close to some vineyards which are worth the visit, driving back to London with some extra wine cases proved to be more challenging than expected. We also enjoyed the picturesque villages in the area. Breakfast and dinner outside on the patio were a pure treat. Thank you again for making our stay memorable. U. family, UK (Summer 2012) A landmark house in one of the most beautiful parts of France! Le Manoir des Gaillardoux was a spectacular point of departure for the birthday week in September. The house is an amazing piece of architecture as all the architects and designers in the group agreed. It was a perfect setting for my friends from around the globe to gather and share a week of cooking, sampling, visiting, celebrating and thoroughly enjoying each other's company in this wonderful region full of historical and natural sites to visit, fabulous restaurants, products and wine to sample and a gracious lifestyle to experience. On arrival, we were met by the Manoir's very gracious house manager, who introduced us to the house and all of its wonders, the handsome grounds, the meticulously designed accommodations and the extremely high standard of equipment at our disposal during our stay. No detail has been overlooking in the planning of this holiday house and a stay here feels like coming home. The house offers many spacious areas for guests to gather or to seek a moment of solitude. The pool area and the terrace off the dining room and kitchen were favourites for most, the sumptuous stone stairwell was mine. Many thanks to the owners who went out of their way to assist in making this a very special memory. Being very exacting, I was extremely pleased as were all of my guests. Le Manoir provided perfect accommodations, beautiful interiors, furnishings and outdoor spaces - a wonderful setting for this week of celebration and the formal dinner party. Merci infiniment pour le Manoir and all of our wonderful memories. Mrs B, UK & France (Summer 2012)

The village of Lourmarin is the home of Albert Camus, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. He is buried in the cemetery. This is a village filled with cafe terraces, restaurants, and boutiques. Dine at Le Moulin or La Feniere for a real gastronomique experience. You can wander narrow streets and relax in shaded squares, the perfect picture of Provence. Lourmarin has a Friday morning market. The nearby village of Vaugines, [For the uninitiated, this is Peter Mayle country!], is a tiny, old, and isolated village that has preserved its Provencal style. The surrounding countryside is wild and authentic. Sights include a 12th century church and Renaissance style houses. The area is also wonderful for hiking. Another nearby attraction is Gordes, one of the most popular villages in Provence, with a wonderful castle, arcaded streets, museums, and musical concerts. South of the village you can visit the Village des Bories, a curious collection of Neolithic stone huts. Don't miss the Abbey of Senanque, a 12th century monastery where monks still live.
