Sparkling clean and freshly painted, this spacious three-bedroom, three-bath house has new carpeting throughout and an open floor plan that lends itself to congenial socializing. A large living area -- with a wood-burning fireplace and baby grand piano -- opens up to a deck that looks out to rolling hills and a grassy meadow dotted with cows. A cheerful kitchen is equipped with everything needed to easily entertain 10 or more people in the adjacent dining area. nThe light-filled lower level features glass doors opening up to a fenced back yard. A comfortable family room on this level, with a pull-out sofa bed, provides a separate area for the kids to play games or for TV watching. Restful meadow views are also afforded from the first-floor master bedroom, which has a master bath with separate tub and shower. A third bedroom on the lower level has a king bed and its own bathroom. An additional bedroom and bathroom are on the first floor as well. nThe house is equipped with wi-fi, high-speed internet, unlimited local and long-distance service, 40-inch plasma TV with DVD/VHS and a stereo system. Washer and dryer are on site as is all the equipment you will need for outdoor excursions: beach chairs, umbrellas, a picnic basket and coolers. You can cook out on a gas grill, and firewood is provided for the fireplace as well as for beach fires, which are permitted on nearby Ribera Beach. The garage is not available for cars, but there is off-street parking for two vehicles and plenty more parking on the street. n nIdeal for one or more families or several couples, this is a welcoming place where you can relax and feel at home. When you arrive, you will be greeted with a personal note and a basket with a bottle of sparkling cider and sun-dried tomato pesto torta in the refrigerator and animal crackers for the kids. nFor nature lovers, a 10-minute walk will take you to off-the-beaten-path places never discovered by most tourists, including Ribera Beach and Carmel River Beach, where the Carmel River empties into the ocean. Also within walking distance are the historic Carmel Mission and Clint Eastwood's Mission Ranch. Point Lobos is five minutes away by car. nThere is a basket brimming with local information about Carmel, Carmel Valley (wine tasting country) Pebble Beach (home of the AT&T and the recent U.S. Open), Big Sur, golf (over 15 in the area), State Parks, area attractions, shopping, (Safeway, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, and Costco are all within 10 minutes), Monterey Aquarium, Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. Forest Cottage: The Forest Cottage provides the solitude of our wilderness, and makes for a perfect romantic getaway for 2 or a solo retreat. Check out our weekly discounts! The Cottage is unique, established in the 1930’s as the original cottage on Heart Circle Mountain. It is a lovingly remodeled and welcoming two-story home nestled in a private redwood and oak glen. There is a delightful picnic area at the trails end nestled under a natural oak arbor with a view of the ocean. This magical spot is perfect to watch the red-tailed hawks and peregrine falcons fly overhead while enjoying gorgeous sunsets. The Water Fall Trail meanders through a redwood forest along a gentle creek with areas for relaxing and dining amid Big Sur's unique flora and fauna. Look for a magical clearing in our redwood glen along the creek, with fairy rings of redwoods surrounding it. At trails end relax and enjoy the tranquil pond at the base of a 10ft granite waterfall. You won't have to drive anywhere to explore the beauty of Big Sur! Of course there are endless possibilities for many adventures in the Ventana wilderness a few miles away! Climate: Heart Circle's microclimate is unique, a marine influence with inland sun and warmth. Our mid-altitude (900ft) mountaintop is not too hot (fewer insects) like higher ridges and mountains, and not too foggy or cold, like lower altitudes. Heart Circle is conveniently located just 2.2 miles from Highway 1 providing more sun and less wind than the coast.
