Description:Simple. Comfortable. Cozy (only 250 sq. ft). At one time an artist's studio, the cabin/bungalow has been decorated with a local artist's work in addition to a few antiques and quirky collectibles. Ten minutes walking distance from downtown Carmel, the cabin is situated near and overlooking the Pebble Beach Forest in a residential neighborhood where you'll find yourself very close to nature . . . with an itinerant colony of woodpeckers on the property and squirrels to amuse. SPRING FLING BOOKINGS thru the end of May. Two night minimum unless the day before we haven't been booked. Single nights on the weekend (Friday and Saturday) can be booked the preceding Thursday of any particular weekend. Oh, and by the way, for those of you who haven't guessed . . . our cabin has HOT and cold water, indoor plumbing, heat, TV, broadband internet, and we provide a Continental breakfast of sorts . . . coffee, tea, fruit, yogurt and biscotti! No kitchen is available, but there is a microwave, small refrigerator and coffee pot. The Cabin is located on the same property as our family home, but totally separate and 50 steps from the main house. We're long-time residents (my grandmother and grandfather lived in what is now the Carmel Art Association Gallery), so we're knowledgeable about the area and able to help you find a masseuse, hire a pet sitter, and locate some of the many unique spots guidebooks don't mention. Also, we can accommodate a third person on a very thick futon ($25/visit). We are Pet Friendly but must charge an additional $25 for each pet during your stay (please note . . . Carmel is very pet oriented . . . walk the beach with your dog off-leash, and you're able to go to many restaurants and bars along with any well-behaved Fido). If you're visiting California's central coast for the first time, you'll find Carmel and the surrounding area an idyllic haven boasting nearly 100 miles of spectacular shoreline - described as the greatest meeting of land and sea. The unbridled beauty of Carmel and Monterey County's landscape and the mild, year-round weather offer endless opportunities for outdoor pursuits, from hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking, to golfing at legendary Pebble Beach. The Zen Trail gently climbs up Garrapata Ridge and offers spectacular ocean, mountain, and valley views. The trail passes by a fox den where you might catch a glimpse of their world. There is a delightful picnic area at the trails end nestled under a natural oak arbor with a view of the ocean. This magical spot is perfect to watch the red-tailed hawks and peregrine falcons fly overhead while enjoying gorgeous sunsets. The Water Fall Trail meanders through a redwood forest along a gentle creek with areas for relaxing and dining amid Big Sur's unique flora and fauna. Look for a magical clearing in our redwood glen along the creek, with fairy rings of redwoods surrounding it. At trails end relax and enjoy the tranquil pond at the base of a 10ft granite waterfall. You won't have to drive anywhere to explore the beauty of Big Sur! Of course there are endless possibilities for many adventures in the Ventana wilderness a few miles away! Climate: Heart Circle's microclimate is unique, a marine influence with inland sun and warmth. Our mid-altitude (900ft) mountaintop is not too hot (fewer insects) like higher ridges and mountains, and not too foggy or cold, like lower altitudes. Location: Our property is perfectly located on Big Sur's north coast, atop a small mountain overlooking Palo Colorado Canyon and beyond. Heart Circle is conveniently located just 2.2 miles from Highway 1 providing more sun and less wind than the coast. Enjoy all that Big Sur has to offer, yet remain only a 15-minute drive north to Carmel, and a 15-minute drive south to Big Sur valley. Enjoy the best of both worlds on the most scenic roads anywhere. No need to worry about dirt roads, as our retreats are located along our Private Paved Road, which is Traffic, Mud and Dust Free. Without a doubt, you will leave Heart Circle Mountain with a unique piece of Big Sur in your heart...
