Description:Story Behind the Name Mountain Camp is a name on which my wife, our two daughters and I all just simply agreed. The special nature of Mountain Camp is not that it is named after anything of special significance. Instead, what it represents to us is a dream that is slowly being fulfilled each year as more and more guests, family and friends discover, share and enjoy our home and property. We spent over 20 years visiting parents in Blowing Rock while our daughters were growing up. When we decided to look for a home or home site, we listed criteria important to each family member including: a close proximity to Blowing Rock, reasonably easy access, a view, enough woods for trails, and a creek of some sort. We were not sure whether we could find one piece of property with all those things and stay within our budget. We chose the Mountain Camp property because it appeared to have everything for which we were looking even including a very small stream. However, we could not tell if it was going to have a view. After the road was built and the building site cleared, we were thrilled to discover a beautiful view! The home design and building process was also a very enjoyable collective decision making endeavor for our family, and it consequently reflects parts of each of us. It has been several years now since the first Christmas that we spent at Mountain Camp in 2007, and our plans and vision for the property continue to grow. As it turns out, Mountain Camp is simply the name of our dream. We hope you enjoy our home! -Bob ll enjoy every part of this beautiful mountain home.
