The Beech Bum Chalet is perfect for your special retreat, any time of the year! r n r nThe BBC is a 2-story, 4-Bedroom Chalet that we have completely remodeled (originally built in 1969, it has been passed down in the family), with all new furniture, appliances, decor and amenities. Additionally, it features keyless entry, hardwood floors, lots of natural light and the all-important wireless Internet. Located just down the road from Fred 's General Mercantile and one mile from Ski Beech, the BBC is quaintly tucked away in the woods on a gravel road where you are sure to be in perfect harmony with nature. r n r nYou 'll find the Chalet classy, yet still having that classic mountain look and feel. There are 3 bedrooms on the main floor - a master with queen bed and full double vanity bathroom, a guest room with a queen bed and another guest room with two twin beds. Each bedroom has a TV, DVD player and DirecTV, all beds have feather beds and mattress pads on them, covered in hotel quality linens for your utmost comfort. r n r nThe guest bathroom also features a double vanity, and there are plenty of plush towels at your fingertips. There is central heat in the BBC for your use during the colder months. Because Beech Mountain stays in the low 70 's during the summer months, the chalet stays nice and cool, especially with the windows open and the breezes coming through. r n r nIn the dining room area there is a beautiful wood table (adjustable for up to six) in front of a gigantic window, with a view of the front deck and garden. Adjacent is a full kitchen with lots of windows that offers almost every convenience, whether you want to cook a huge meal or just snack! There is a small office area with a printer/fax/copier/scanner and office supplies for your use. r n r nIn the special mud room nearby, you 'll find a new washer and dryer and a place for your boots, skis, hats and coats. The living room features a sleeper sofa, recliner, Flat screen TV, DirecTV with DVR, DVD library, in-ceiling surround sound, organ, gas fireplace and two huge sliding glass doors that open to the upper deck. A gas grill and table with comfy chairs and loungers await to help you relax after a day of fun. r n r nWalk back out onto the new front deck by the garden, and a few steps around either side of the house, and step onto the new lower back deck where a relaxing hot tub awaits to ease your body after a day on the slopes. Or, you can sit in the chairs, have a glass of wine, look out at the trees and mountains and breathe in the fresh air. Beautiful French doors lead into the bottom half of the Chalet (its only entry - very private), which is entirely new and features its own central heat and huge windows. On one end there is a fabulous bedroom with a queen bed, half bath and private shower. The middle area of the floor features a 4 person sauna and another double vanity sink with half bath. r n r nThe other end of the floor features a fantastic game room with a bar, microwave, small refrigerator, full futon, Flat screen TV, DVD player, Playstation 2, DirecTV, theater sound system, and 3-in-1 bumper pool and poker table! r n r nBy staying at the BBC, you have privileges at the fantastic Beech Mountain Club , which is only a mile and a half away. For a fee, you can use their Olympic size heated swimming pool and the incredible golf course, tennis, fitness and dining facilities. There is also a great new recreation center nearby, and many trails to hike and explore. We also have tennis rackets and balls, baseball gloves, board and card games, Frisbees, fishing rods and the like for you to use. r n r nOur goal has been to make our mountain house unlike any other. There are three leather bar stools, and the larger dining table will seat 8 comfortably adjacent to the deck with great mountain views. The glamorous, large bathroom features three well lit vanities, a Jacuzzi tub, and a separate tiled shower with an overhead Rain-Maker head as well as a typical shower head. Description:The 'Aspen Ski Loft' is a cozy rock cabin with floor to ceiling windows which provide amazing long range views of the Appalachian Mountains, ski slopes and the most amazing sunrises. Elevation 5200 feet. Home has been totally renovated, completed November 2010, The Aspen Skiloft is a round house with two levels, the main level has a living room with rock fireplace with a wood pellet insert that keeps the house toasty warm, the wood pellet stove is controlled by the wall thermostat you can have a fire nice warm fire in 10 minutes. There is a flat screen t.v., sectional sofa, slipper chair and ottoman, the dining area has a bar height table with four chairs, the kitchen has a tiled island with two bar stools, the countertops are also tiled with matching tile backsplash, a small oven, full size dishwasher and refrigerator with freezer and ice maker, the master bedroom has a queen bed and a private bathroom with shower and soaking tub, the guest bedroom also has a queen bed, there is a second bathroom with shower/tub off of the livingroom. The lower level has a den with a couch, leather chair and a t.v., it also has a rock sleeping nook with a queen bed and the laundry room with a washer and dryer is also located in the lower level. The deck has a dining set for four, propane gas grill and long range views of Western North Carolina mountains. The house is located approximately 50 steps from the top of the 'Lower Shawneehaw' ski lift. You can literally walk across the street, strap on your skis or boards, and start skiing! Although the road is maintained by the Town of Beech Mountain, the house is located across the street from the ski slopes, therefore there is blowing snow that acculmates on the road so a 4 wheel drive vehicle or snow chains are recommended during the winter months. You also have access to Beech Mountain Club - Golf, Tennis, Swim (seansonal) Fitness Center (year around). nSummers are cool, quiet and lovely, with time for shopping, hiking, whitewater rafting, golf and swimming, as well as Tweetsie Railroad and Emerald Mining for the kids. In addition, there is Grandfather Mountain, with its mile-high swinging bridge and the wonderful Highland Games. Should you want to eat out, several great restaurants are very close by, whether it is a 10 minute drive into Banner Elk or 17 mile drive to Boone. So, if you 're geared up for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, or even catching a game of Appalachian Football, Southern is close to it all! As you walk into the cabin you are greeted with a nice open floor plan featuring the kitchen, dining, and living rooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern neccessities including D/W, stove, microwave, toaster, coffe maker, blender, all your cooking needs...the works! The living room is very cozy and a perfect spot for sitting around the wood burning fireplace with a stone chimney that rises up to the ceiling. Above you, the second bedroom looks out over the living room. The loft dons a comfortable queen sized bed. In the master bedroom, on the main level, you will find a plush king-sized bed, a nice-sized closet, and bay window. The master bathroom adds a nice touch with a jacuzzi bathtub for two as well as a separate shower. As if that is not enough, you can head down stairs to a great recreation room where there is a pool table, foosball, dart board, a TV with dvd player, a third full bathroom, a futon and a roll away cot for 3 more sleepers. Complete the ambiance with a nice wood-burning wood stove. The ammenities are endless....you can 't forget the 6 person hot tub just off the recreation room, the covered front deck with sitting room and a gas grill, the view of Seven Devils. After a long day of skiing , biking, fishing, or hiking Grandfather Mountain or the Blue Ridge Parkway, a nice soak in the hot tub is the perfect end...
