Can walk to the famous walk of stars on Hollywood Blvd., Kodak theater (where Oscar's are held), Chinese theater, Hollywood/Highland shopping center (where metro is located and Lucky Strike bowling alley among many shops and restaurants like Pizza Kitchen, Hard Rock Cafe, etc), gyms, restaurants, comedy clubs, Director's Guild (where film festivals are often held), Le Bar Marmont, basketball, tennis, the Grove, Hollywood/Highland. Two parks within walking distance--Plummer Park and Poinsettia Recreation with lighted tennis courts. In a very safe area where the action is or nearby (like 5 or 10 minute drive). We recommend a car for Los Angeles as it is a very large city. There are galleries within walking distance, a hookah bar at Xai, outdoor cafe at Aroma, or fabulous margaritas and chips at El Compandre. Or try Thai or Indian or vegetarian, or sushi within walking distance. Or the cheap and simply best hamburgers in the U.S., In and Out Burger on Sunset or Chipotle or Zanzou chicken. Can walk to all of these. Or order in online. Everyone delivers in this area. The choices are endless. Los Angeles has a very vibrant dining scene and this area also has a lot of small theaters (for plays) in addition to large theaters like the Pantages (farther east). Lots to see and do, whether intellectual, physical or artistic or spiritual. Gyms to work out in, See the best view of Los Angeles from downtown to the ocean as you walk Runyon Canyon to the top at Mulholland Drive.. An oasis in the heart of the city. Or walk nearby and try boxing or pilates, a Thai massage for $40.00 or a foot spa. Go to Arclight and catch a hot film and see a famous director or actor doing the same. It's the best theater in LA. Here u have the convenience of a place in the heart of the city in the flats near all the sites, clubs, and attractions of the city. Here you can drink and walk back...or take a taxi with no trouble. No driving up dark and winding roads to a home 30 minutes up the mountain. (Unless that is ur thing of course). Everything you want to see is within 5-15 minutes away...Melrose, The Grove, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Center, Universal City, downtown (by metro direct). 100% cotton sheets and bedding, black out drapes in bedroom, brand new comfortable beds, modern furniture. Good closet space with lots of hangers. Iron and ironing board in closet. The beds are super comfy so u will sleep well after ur days of sightseeing and fun. I include in my places everything I would want (and then some!) when visiting another city and choosing the alternative of airbnb....which is what I did when I visited Milan this past summer. Hotels that are good reference points nearby: Loews Renaissance, the Roosevelt, the Mondrian, the Standard. A welcoming French Manager on premises (my sister in law) who speaks, English, Spanish, French and Italian. The door has a code as does the front gate, so you will not need to worry about arranging to pick up a key. I look forward to hosting you.

And then take the metro everywhere....Universal City...San Diego...Santa Barbara ...take the metro at Hollywood Highland and Amtrak train to places of interest. Go online and check their schedules. Walk and shop Melrose or check out the scene. Lots of Live Music and comedy venues (the Laugh Factory) within a 5-10 minute drive or walk, including movie theaters and stage shows. Walk to the Directors Guild, where often there is some type of a film festival happening. And there are many hang outs and restaurants nearby that are open until 3 or 4 a.m. like Bosa Nova. Walk 5 minutes to tennis courts, which are lighted for night playing , play basketball at Plummer Park...2 parks walking distance. Check out the The Grove, Farmers Market, Beverly Center, Beverly Connection or Beverly HIlls, all within a 10-15 drive. The beach is a 30 minute drive with no traffic. Take the scenic route straight up (west) Sunset Blvd. Sunset takes u straight to the ocean and through Beverly Hills, Bel Air to UCLA to Brentwood, Pacific Palisades and then Will Rogers State Park and the Ocean. Good transportation minutes away...in the heart of the action. But we recommend a car for Los Angeles. The nice areas are in West Hollywood/Hollywood, west of Highland. Just to the immediate north are the Hollywood Hills, where many film and television stars live...some very close by... Personally, I prefer this area because it is very centrally located. . But the weather and attitude here are what sells the place. And the attitude here is very free and laid back, especially in this part of the city, which draws the most diverse and creative and international population. Run into Drew Barrymore at Whole Foods market, 5 minutes away, as i have... Or meet LA Confidential and Too Big to Fail director Curtis Hanson on a Runyon Canyon walk, as I did. Teri Hatcher lives near Runyon...Andrew Dice Clay's house is walking distance away. Scarlett Johansen lives in New York now but still owns a condo in L.A. walking distance away and and does visit. She is very petite. And the celebrity vans driving on Sunset are two blocks away. And there is always a place to go for shopping or food or entertainment that is not expensive (and sometimes quite inexpensive) but still fun and cool. And that too is nearby. Like the In and Out Burger (simply the best burgers and cheap) on Sunset near La Brea, where I recommend the Neopolitan shake or the burger low carb style with lettuce instead of a bun...or the freshly made fries... Chipotle on Sunset, Zazou Chicken on Sunset, Aroma on Sunset, Bosa Nova on Sunset and many others. Smoking is not allowed inside the unit but is OK on the patio that is part of the unit but only if the door is closed!! There is a manager on the premises if there are any problems. And tandem parking for one car is included although there is also free street parking. There is a locked gated door to enter the building and it has a keypad for entry. But the area is safe...and I live very close by myself ...and have been known to walk around Sunset late at night. Any others questions, feel free to inquire.

Or eat at the new Pikey's Bar on Sunset or the fabulous Cheebo on Sunset and Sierra Bonita or Bossa Nova on Sunset (open until 3 am), Aroma on Sunset, El Compadre with the best margaritas and chips and music on Sunset (and relatively cheap) all an easy close walk. All types of restaurants and cafes with all types of food, including vegetarian. For a scene, go to The Village Idiot restaurant and bar on Melrose. You can walk there too. It's reasonably priced and happening!! Have Sushi, cheap or expensive within walking distance. Everyone delivers here too. Order by internet. Walk to Sundance movie theaters, the Director's Guild (where film festivals are often held) or ArcLight theaters (Arclight is a much farther walk) for the best movie/film experience., where u can buy individual seats online or drink wine while viewing film. Go to the upscale Sunset Plaza or the Beverly Center or Beverly Connection. Walk to Melrose. Or get the best burgers that are also the cheapest at In and Out Burger, just east of our location. Try the neopolitan milk shake (also not advertised but for those in the know). Or order your burger low carb with lettuce wrap instead of a bun...or ask for any of their burgers Animal Style. They don't advertise it...but those in the know...go! It is a must have experience. Go to the cool remodeled Observatory. Check out LACMA (L.A. County Museum of Art), nearby at Wilshire and Fairfax or the car museum. Don't miss the Getty if you love architecture and art or downtown Disney Hall that was designed by Frank Gehry and is quite impressive in terms of architecture and music. You can take the metro for a show downtown. Because the only great area with a metro is at Hollywood Highland. See Runyon Canyon from your window in the distance, or walk it to the top at Mulholland Drive and maybe find yourself walking or hiking with a movie star or director. And aside from a great walk, you can see the best view in Los Angeles, all the way to downtown and the ocean. The Backyard of apartment building is landscaped with flowers and fruit trees (lots of lemons and avocados) and sitting area and red barbecue enclosed with bamboo fencing. If you smoke, you are welcome to smoke outside in the backyard. No smoking in the unit except on balcony with door closed. There is a manager at the location who is incredibly helpful and French (and she speaks Spanish as well). You will get a real feel for living in Los Angeles here as we are in the heart of the hippest and coolest area of Los Angeles with also the best weather. Taking the metro nearby, you can be in downtown los angeles in 15 minutes or Universal City in 10 min.or the train station, The closest metro stop is Hollywood Highland, which is a big indoor/outdoor shopping structure with parking, shopping, restaurants, movies, entertainment on the streets and the famous sidewalk with stars and handprints of the stars. Compare to nearby hotels with only one room of 200-300 sq ft (Loew's ,the Standard, the Roosevelt, Comfort Inns, W) and here at this remodeled two bedroom 1200 sq ft unit with kitchen and all hotel amenities, including location. You will be at the center of the action. ..where creatives from around the world congregate...the mix is intoxicating and L.A. in this part of town is very friendly and very laid back and safe. Freedom reigns and everyone is welcome. I've traveled the world...but returning to L.A. with its perfect humidity and perfect weather and ultimate sense of freedom, never gets boring. For a side trip...go to the Channel Islands and explore, an hour away or take a day trip to Santa Barbara wineries about 1 1/2 hour drive away. Malibu is a 45-60 minute drive north. High end restaurant in deep Malibu is Geoffrey's Restaurant (outdoor dining also..and overlooking the ocean)...casual and good but not cheap...is Gladstones (overlooking the ocean) which is just at the border of Malibu so not as far as deep Malibu. Also, for some scene action and if you check out Santa Monica (where it can be 10 degrees cooler and overcast)...go to the Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica for Happy Hour during the week. Or the W hotel in Hollywood. Bosa Nova on Sunset has a happy hour too 3-7 and is open until 3:30 a.m. Brazilian, Pizza, salad, main dishes, salmon, skirt steak, pasta...really enjoyable and busy. From June 25, go see the Laguna Art Festival and the famous Festival of the Masters along with the Sawdust Art Festival...this is about 1 1/2 hour drive south...but Laguna Beach is absolutely charming and you will love it, especially now. The beauty of Southern California is at your fingertips...and the few days you've set aside for L.A. will whet your appetite for more. And if you love city life, west Hollywood takes the cake. Places stay open late, people on the move. Nearby there is always a restaurant open until 3 am. Le Bar Marmont very close at the Chateau Marmont Hotel. Melrose close. Sunset 2 blocks away. But relax...this is L.A., the west coast, not New York of the cold or humid, hyper and costly east coast. (But don't get me wrong, I enjoy NYC now and then too). This is the friendly warm coast. Where dreams and people play together. And some come true.
