We were at a conference at Novotel Brighton Beach and this is just a very quick walk away and a much nicer place to stay. Good off road parking and barbecue all add to a great stay. Description:*Available from 1st September to the 30th September 2012* Huge studio apartment in waterloo (redfern) double bed, a not so comfortable sofa-bed & a to die for lounge that is ultra comfy - for the non fussed this place can sleep 4-5 people comfortably however 2 people living in the space would probably be ideal - small shower/​toilet area, and kitchen etc - wireless high speed internet, flat screen television w Loads of DVD's to watch, the area is fantastic for antiquing/​op shopping (5-10 min walk to mitchell st auction house loads of other antique stores), very close to alexandria where all the wholesale warehouses' close to Danks st. Depot (Art gallery) in waterloo & the deliciously delicious french house cafe as well as appetite' a local favourite for breakfast/​brunch (the fig honey ricotta on thick toast w coffee is my go to however the big breakfasts' are also great, they're home made baked beans are awesome! though the serving could be bigger) more than one cafe on botany road to choose from, across the road from FBI FM a local independent radio station, Blanco Negro a for hire darkroom/​film developing company - around the corner from IGA grocery store (literally 2 min away, a woolworths is further, say 5 min up the road if you prefer, it is cheaper and has a larger selection)two laundromat's near the IGA (across the road from each other) two asian bakeries & the newer white cockatoo bakery for delicious european breads (they have an intense rye sourdough that is crazy good) local pizza place & convenience stores open until late, 2 DVD Rental places which allow renting from travellers (you leave a deposit which is payable upon return of movies) all of these places are literally a minute away. There is a turkish take away store & pub/​bistro (the Bistro does surprisingly good food & often has specials on select days of the week, 2 for one pizza's etc) just below the apartment as well as a bottle shop (although dan murphys is about 10 minutes walking distance away) Redfern station is a 5 minute walk the city is less than a minute train ride to centra away or about 15-20 minute walk. about the same for Surry hills - (a stroll down cleveland st starting in redfern to surry hills is great for browsing eclectic stores and eateries ( highly recommend nourishing quarter restaurant for vegans or meat eaters alike, the food is amazing p.s take it from a meat eater the place is amaze balls) Erskineville & Newtown are a 3 minute train ride or 15 minute walk away. across the road from a medical centre., hairdresser & chemist etc this place is pretty prime in terms of location and amenities. i could go on but seriously, i'll leave it up to you to explore and discover the rest.

A lovely 5-10 minute stroll through the park will bring you to Chapel Street. Enjoy a delicious breakfast at Yellowbird, a nearby local favourite. Choose from over a hundred vodkas at Borsch, Vodka and Tears - a nearby Polish restaurant/​bar, enjoy a glass of wine and dinner at The Woods of Windsor - a fabulous restaurant/​bar, or savour some fine pub food and a cold beer in the beer garden at the Windsor Castle, a popular local pub. Or catch a movie at The Astor Theatre which shows old classics. As a local, I have lots of recommendations for places to go, things to do, and how to get around. Please ask! This apartment is a two minute walk to trams which take you into the city/​St Kilda and a 10 minute walk to Windsor train station (4 stops away from the city). Apart from enjoying the relaxing space, my guests enjoy the location, the views, the peace and the light. Lovely, clean, bright, airy and extremely well equipped apartment. The quiet road runs parallel with Chapel St, but is within very short walking distance to the hustle and bustle of Chapel St. Trams and trains are within a few minutes walk offering easy and frequent links to the City and beach. All in all, a home from home and a superb base. It was a pleasure to deal with Jeanne (owner) who was very friendly and helpful. Many thanks. My husband and I stayed at The Avenue for five days during 'The Presidents Cup'. The lacation was ideal. Trams and trains were a short flat walk away. Handy to Chapel St and its shopping and restaurants. Equally handy to Melbourne CBD, Richmond and Victoria St. The apartment was very comfortable with all one would require. It was clean!! I am very fussy but this unit's owner is one after my own heart. Bed was very comfortable and unit was tastefully decorated. A small glitch with TV was sorted quickly. The express bus 333 to Bondi Junction and the city has a stop less than a minute walk from the apartments front door The ocean is across the road - what better way to start the day with a swim at Australia's most famous beach. Please note, this 2 bedroom apartment - like many in Bondi- has a small hot water tank. 2 normal showers in the morning or 4 short ones - otherwise there is a small wait for it to heat up again. But as mentioned with the ocean across the road what better way to start the day than a dip in it! In the interests of public health, fire safety and a clean environment: The Apartment & Building are strictly NON-SMOKING. Please note : like most places on Air B&B - we are not a hotel.
