Description:Château de Barbet Chateau de Barbet is situated on top of a hill in the department of Gers in the Midi Pyrenees. It is gorgeously renovated and surrounded with 180 luxurious villas. Some of the facilities are our swimming pools, tennis courts, fitness room and saunas. Right next to our residence is a 9 hole golf course where you can play golf seven days a week. Complimenting all these facilities is a restaurant which is situated in the Chateau. The department of Gers is situated in the south of France and its environment is calm, wide and full of culture. It also offers plenty of options for our sporting guests. There are many small restaurants available in the area where you can enjoy everything that the countryside has to offer. Our luxurious villa (Type Campagne nr. 124) is available for rental and is privately owned, therefore the inventory can be different and luxurious from other villa's. The villa has is own parking place. The living room has a flat screen and DVD/CD player. The villa has 2 bedrooms (4 beds) , dining room, bathroom (shower and Jacuzzi), kitchen and 3 terraces with a BBQ. Landscape ‘The Tuscany of France’ A landscape of hills that is characterized by the colours of nature and her farmers. In summer the sunflower fields. When you go from village to village you will be surprised by the views and the large variety. Driving by car or cycling is an absolute delight. The climate is lovely. The boundry of Gers in the south is the Haute Pyrenees. This is an impressive and worthwhile visit for walkers and cyclists alike. Culture When you look at the Gers historically it is a crossing between the North and South of Europe. The absolute highlights are the Cathedral Saint Marie in Auch and the Saint Sernin in Toulouse. Especially the latter is a leader in art history and is really worth a visit. Toulouse is situated a 30 minute drive from Chateau de Barbet. You can also visit Carcassonne, Albi, Lourdes and Pau. Sports and leisure Golfing Our park is popular amongst golf lovers. Next to our park is a beautiful 9 hole golf course. You can walk from your villa directly to the golf course. You will also find other golf courses within a radius of 30 to 40 kilometers. Cycling Cycling is very popular in France. The Gers is ideal for both the sports and the leisure cyclist. The landscape varies from flat to very hilly. There are other less strenuous routes for the leisure cyclist. Another option is a day cycling in the Pyrenees. Due to the options available more and more cycling clubs are choosing stay at our park. Walking What we have for cyclists we also have for hikers. It is possible to start your walking tour directly from the park as well as from other places in the neighbourhood. A growth industry is Nordic Walking. We can receive these hikers in both organized and non organized groups. Other options in the area are canoeing, canyoning, skiing, hang gliding etc. There is a survival park within driving distance of our park. This is an attraction for every age. There is also a safari park and the zoo of Plaisance de Touch. Quad driving is possible in Auch. They have a piece of land of 100 ha. Apart from all this the area offers several lakes where you can go swimming, water bicycling, sailing etc. The reception will be very happy to inform you about all the activities. Culinary We are fortunate to have a restaurant Gastronomique located on our park. You can enjoy the specialties of the region in the ambiance of the chateau. The clubhouse of the golf course is another option if you prefer a smaller menu. Even if you don’t golf you are very welcome to visit. Once a week they organize a barbeque and a Table d’hôte menu in the clubhouse. You will also find many options for traditional food in the surrounding areas. BIENVENUE CHEZ NOUS!
