Description:It was built in authentic Swahili style with the best craftsmen on Lamu Island.The famous carpenter Ali Skanda has done the whole furniture and the teak carved main entrance door. Mr Mbwara and his niru artists’ team made all friezes, niches, which ornate each room of the house. They designed also the big Swahili Star above traditional Swahili bed at ground floor.Hand-woven rugs, light curtains, antique coffee-tables and old chests furnish the house.The design features zidaka plasterwork and niches, carved and painted beams, daka porch, Arab arches and carpentry work at its finest. We wanted it as a joyful celebration of Lamu craftmen ancestral talent. The quality finishes make this beautiful beach house one of the finest modern architectural achievement on Lamu Island.The house is white, with arches which frame sea views, sky at day or night, and sails sliding silently. Always magic!Palm trees, ylang-ylangs, frangipanes, bougainvilleas add some colours and scents around.Its location and finishes are truly stunning, maybe the best in Lamu really, even if not humble at all for me to repeat it, sorry, but many ones say that there : with 270° sea views, as you could see on the pictures attached, truly magic when you sit on the terraces or rest there !It is rented on a Self-Catering basis, because it is the most cost-efficient way to do it for our guests, as the food there is really not expensive at all. Of course our/their cook will do all shopping, cooking, waitering for them there.You have all sea and beach activities (sailing, surfing, kite, windsurf, waterskiing, snorkelling, swimming, walking on the beach, scuba diving, fishing even deep sea fishing, sunset or day cruising..), plus lamu old town world heritage site and cultural visits to discover Swahili culture and history, plus lots of services like yoga, massage, music, dvds... at home, alsonature which is truly at its best here with stunning views and turtles clutch watching, swimming with dolphins, even whales watching on season at the corner... and fun/parties, good spots to have a drink, relax, talk with friendly people, have fun, dance too if wished, on the beach or in 2 or 3 really trendy and cool places!
