Description:Built in 1840 the property is a fine example of a Tuscan country villa situated with its farm buildings on a plateau atop a ridge of hills at 500 m, with a wide park-like expanse of lawn and garden circled by woods in 15 hectares. The buildings, which have been lovingly restored without altering their original characteristics, provide a high standard of furnishings and fittings and decorations are carefully chosen using warm colours that compliment the locally made furniture. Once the country villa of the owner of vast tracts of land and farms in the Montagnola area, its overall shape seems to imply that the family and its needs grew. When taking the property for a group of 18 both the upper floor of the main villa and the attached stone house with independent entrance are available. nOne part of the accommodation is located on the first floor reached via a staircase up to a splendid furnished open loggia facing south whose wide arched windows allow a view of the lawn and pool area. Off the loggia one door leads into a country kitchen with marble-topped table. A hallway off the kitchen leads to a double and a twin/double bedroom, each with an ensuite shower room. From the loggia another door leads to a very large living/dining room which has sofas in front of a Tuscan fireplace, a table for 10 and a corner. From the living room, a corridor leads to three additional bedrooms, each with its own shower room. nThe stone house to the right of the villa is entered through a shady terrace leading to a large, comfortably furnished living room with a beautiful brick vaulted ceiling. On the same floor is a country kitchen with a fireplace, a dining room with a table for 10 and a shower room. A flight of stone steps takes you to the first floor with two double bedrooms, one with an ensuite shower room, and two double/twin bedrooms with two further shower rooms. nThere is plenty of room for the whole group to sit down to dinner together - either with an extra table in the very large dining room off the 1st floor loggia or outside on the wide lawns between the house and the pool. Also available on request is a separate catering kitchen and large dining room which can be taken for dinners or cookery classes. nWhile the vast lawns and sheltering trees ensure wonderful outdoor meals and the sunbeds around the decked pool is but a stroll away, Siena is only 20 mins away and many other major Tuscan attractions are nearby. Close to hand is Pievescola which annually celebrates the porcini mushrooms so plentiful in the surrounding woods, and in medieval walled cities there is the crystal of Colle Val d'Elsa, the towers of San Gimignano, the protected cloister of Torri and many other marvels to discover. The estate owners, who maintain an office on the property and will pass by to maintain the gardens and make sure all is well, are valuable resources. For more energetic types there are mountain bikes available, table tennis, volleyball and various walks in the surrounding woods. A safe box is available in one of the bedrooms. nThere is an indoor family game room equipped with a pool table, 45 inches flat screen TV, a stereo sound system, wireless internet and a bar counter with a fridge, microwave and a sink.
