Description:About the Apt. Located in well-maintained, 1920's historic apartment building in the SOFA Arts District. -Hardwoods floors throughout, all original fixtures and moldings. Charming kitchen with original icebox intact. -Every room in the apartment has large, picture frame windows lots of eastern and northern exposure. -Freshly painted, spotless. -Sparsely furnished with queen bed, sofa, kitchen utensils and basic bathroom, in modernish aesthetic. It's a lovely, no-fuss apartment and I am hoping to find folks who will enjoy it as much as I do. There is ample street parking. It's quiet, only two other units on the floor. Perfect for cyclists enjoying SoCo there's room in the apartment to store two bikes, maybe three. There is a floor pump available. About the Area SOFA (South of A Street) is home to Santa Rosa's arts community. The apartment is located between several points of interest (see map for guidebook). Picturesque Julliard Park is a block down the street. An .8 mi bike ride/walk away is the Fourth Street shopping and restaurant district which includes the well-known Russian River Brewery. Santa Rosa's oldest diner, the Cook House is across the street. Locally-owned Atlas Coffee shop is one block away. Historic and quaint Railroad Square offers more restaurants (American, Thai, wine bars) and speciality shopping, like antiques. Dierk's Parkside restaurant, with its great brunch, is a few blocks away. Things To Do You can be sipping and cycling within a few miles of leaving South A Street. Walk two blocks north from the apartment and you are on the 22 mi. long Prince Memorial Greenway, which runs along the Santa Rosa Creek as far as Sebastopol. It is as perfect for exercise as it is for taking short or long explorations to other destinations in the area. Visit the Sonoma County wineries by bike throughout Russian River and Dry Creek Valleys. Do the incredibly scenic 50 mi. loop to Occidental and back. Description:There are no white walls or flat ceilings here. Built with our own swet and tears and lots of joy and love this 2 acre early California hacienda style compound has 8 foot walls in front and sides for privacy and 2 acres around us with open fields and lots of trees with a rustic barn to view from the gazebo, a great photo op at sunset. r nIt is relaxing and retreat like yet close to the Sonoma square by 1 mile. There are lush gardens and pathways to roam on and enjoy the lavender or sunflowers that are a hit each year when in bloom. In the summer there is an organic vebetable garden you welcome to gather from. There are 3 lawns to play on and the casita has it's own area to rest in or barbecue and dine out under the old oak tree lit by an artistic chandelier at night. The sunsets are heavenly as the light changes to a warm golden hue that wants to be photographed. The casita has thick plastered walls with rich colors reminiscent of old Europe and a fireplace to get cozy by. The floors are all heated and the 3 rooms are built with old beams and vaulted ceilings. The shower in the casita is open and built for 2 with a window to view the garden. If your so inclined there is a rustic outdoor bamboo inclosed shower that is fabulous on a starry or full moon night. The walls are made from a green product and are 12 inches thick, so it stays warm at night yet cool on hot days. It makes it very quiet inside. It is like going to Europe without the air fair. It is an experience to be remembered.

The kitchen includes gas range and oven, refrigerator and is fully stocked for cooking and dining. Pots/pans dishware and linens included. Please bring your own toiletries. Enjoy vineyard walks from the property, beautiful hikes in two nearby state parks, epic cycling right out the door or just enjoy an afternoon with a good book, each night a spectacular and changing sunset. Sonoma is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed food and wine experience. We are two miles north of downtown & the Sonoma Square. Approaching the Cottage the tree lined drive leads directly to the privacy fence/gate. The spacious bedroom has one full bed and one twin bed. There is a full bath/shower. The ample walk in closet houses a large armoire. Relax and enjoy the huge combination living room/kitchen area with the elegant cathedral ceiling. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas range/oven, microwave, fridge, coffee maker,toaster,slow cooker and blender. Kick back on the comfortable 8 ' couch and enjoy the flat screen HDTV/DVD, or take care of your , Twitter, E-mail accounts at the work station after getting the wireless password. Take a look out the glass slider leading to the back deck over looking the yard and pool area. In season feel free to pick fresh fruit, garden items, or use the personal weber with electric starter wand (charcoal provided). Of course enjoy the 20' x 40' pool (not heated) in warmer months. Once settled in take a look at some of the material provided on things to do in the Wine Country. Whether it's touring the many local wineries of the Sonoma Valley, the Alexander Valley, the Russian River area leading out to Bodega Bay (remember Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds) or it may be a trip to the nearby majestic Armstrong Woods where you will be silenced by the reverence of the great Redwoods!
