Description:La Casa Rara in Westend (A rare house) on the hill over looking the most beautiful beaches and reef in the world. When you walk in the front door you are on a breezy outdoor open air patio looking out over the lush gardens. There you and your loved ones will watch the birds and other tropical wildlife. Walk into the kitchen which is fully equipped , and nice for dinner parties or hanging out with friends. The main house, has 2 bedrooms and two baths, the two story tower, has one king bedroom and a bath and has a lovely view above the treetops of the ocean and sunset. The house sleeps 6 Adults and a few kids. There are 2 Queen size beds in the main house and a king size bed and bath in the tower which is located down a short lit cement walkway. The house has games, a cell phone, a modem and snorkeling gear. The patio is draped with hammocks, swings and murals just perfect for getting together with friends and family after a swim in the community pool or a dip in the sea. nThe house is designed by a Honduran Architect to perfectly capture the northerly trade winds. The house uses a rustic cement Honduran hand made architecture, and the main house is cooled with ceiling and floor fans only. The tower bedroom with king bed and bath has air conditioning. nPlease be sure to contact us if you are a Teacher, a Nurse or former/current RPCV. All windows have custom made dark wood shutters for total privacy and darkness when desired. n nVilla Isla Bonita was professionally decorated by Sand Castles Designs and the attention to detail shows. The walls are hand rub for a unique paint scheme, each piece of furniture was custom designed and every piece ties it together. The wall mounted water features greet you as you enter and the rest builds on that focal point. n nThe kitchen is a show piece with plenty of counter space and under cabinet lighting. Description:Toucan Blue is a beautiful beach house located 20 km. east of the Roatan International airport, mid-island on the scenic north shore in Milton Bight. The crystal clear Caribbean water is just steps from the front door and the second largest barrier reef in the world is approximately 300 meters before you. Enjoy the serenity as you look out upon the sea and the never tiring view. n nRoatan, one of the Bay Islands of Honduras, is included in the book 1,000 Places to See Before You Die by Patricia Schultz. For years, Roatan was known mainly to divers for the exquisite diving adventures around the barrier reef. The improved infrastructure on the island now brings growing tourism and cruise ship passengers. English is the main language of the island with Spanish widely spoken, and US currency is accepted. n nToucan Blue is perfect for divers, snorkelers, family, or friends. It is a single family home with main living areas and four private bedrooms so rates are flexible depending on the number of guests. The bedrooms not required will simply not be made up or accessible, they will not be rented to others. Escape the tourist crowds for the solitude, peace, and tranquility of Toucan Blue. n nThere are only four other homes on the white sand peninsula that share the dock with Toucan Blue, with security on site. At the end of the dock is a thatched palapa, a great place for morning coffee at sunrise or beverages at sunset. From the palapa setting, both sunrise and sunset can be events. n nThe house is decorated in lively Caribbean colors and each room has ceiling fans and air conditioning, if needed. The bright, open main floor on the upper level includes the living area, full kitchen, dining, half bath, and huge deck. The large sapphire blue bedroom with bath/shower is also on the upper level with patio doors opening to the deck. n nThere are indoor/outdoor speakers for music while upstairs in the house or on the deck. There is DirectTV (basic plan) and DVD player for those times that you want to be indoors, and you can keep in touch with others using the wireless internet connection. There are games, puzzles, books, music and movies for your enjoyment. n nThe large, covered, ceramic tiled deck is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquil setting and endless view. It is where you will likely spend most of your time while at the house. It is also a great place to laze in the hammocks, listen to the waves breaking over the reef, watch the hummingbirds at the feeder, or sit by the railing and gaze at the star filled sky at night. Shade sails have been added to help keep the deck cool by blocking some of the afternoon sun. n nThe patio table seats six with another table and chairs available for additional deck seating/dining. The BBQ grill is near the kitchen and deck. A local cook is available for a nominal fee if you are interested in having island meals prepared at the house. n nThe lower level includes the large emerald green bedroom with bath/shower, and the two other bedrooms that share a full bath with tub/shower. The laundry room has a full size washer and dryer. An outdoor shower is available to wash off the sand and salt before entering the home. n nEnjoy the stunning views of the Caribbean Sea, paddle the sea inside the barrier reef in the two provided sea kayaks, stroll the white sand beach, view sea life from the dock, or gently swing in one of the hammocks on the deck. n nFor divers, a dive shop is located at nearby Turquoise Bay Resort.
