For years, Roatan was known mainly to divers for the exquisite diving adventures around the barrier reef. The improved infrastructure on the island now brings growing tourism and cruise ship passengers. English is the main language of the island with Spanish widely spoken, and US currency is accepted. n nToucan Blue is perfect for divers, snorkelers, family, or friends. It is a single family home with main living areas and four private bedrooms so rates are flexible depending on the number of guests. The bedrooms not required will simply not be made up or accessible, they will not be rented to others. Escape the tourist crowds for the solitude, peace, and tranquility of Toucan Blue. n nThere are only four other homes on the white sand peninsula that share the dock with Toucan Blue, with security on site. At the end of the dock is a thatched palapa, a great place for morning coffee at sunrise or beverages at sunset. From the palapa setting, both sunrise and sunset can be events. n nThe house is decorated in lively Caribbean colors and each room has ceiling fans and air conditioning, if needed. The bright, open main floor on the upper level includes the living area, full kitchen, dining, half bath, and huge deck. The large sapphire blue bedroom with bath/shower is also on the upper level with patio doors opening to the deck. n nThere are indoor/outdoor speakers for music while upstairs in the house or on the deck. There is DirectTV (basic plan) and DVD player for those times that you want to be indoors, and you can keep in touch with others using the wireless internet connection. There are games, puzzles, books, music and movies for your enjoyment. n nThe large, covered, ceramic tiled deck is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquil setting and endless view. It is where you will likely spend most of your time while at the house. It is also a great place to laze in the hammocks, listen to the waves breaking over the reef, watch the hummingbirds at the feeder, or sit by the railing and gaze at the star filled sky at night. Shade sails have been added to help keep the deck cool by blocking some of the afternoon sun. n nThe patio table seats six with another table and chairs available for additional deck seating/dining. The BBQ grill is near the kitchen and deck. A local cook is available for a nominal fee if you are interested in having island meals prepared at the house. n nThe lower level includes the large emerald green bedroom with bath/shower, and the two other bedrooms that share a full bath with tub/shower. The laundry room has a full size washer and dryer. An outdoor shower is available to wash off the sand and salt before entering the home. n nEnjoy the stunning views of the Caribbean Sea, paddle the sea inside the barrier reef in the two provided sea kayaks, stroll the white sand beach, view sea life from the dock, or gently swing in one of the hammocks on the deck. n nFor divers, a dive shop is located at nearby Turquoise Bay Resort. Description:Far Tortuga is located mid-island on the south side of Roatan approximately 20 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from French Harbour. It is a secluded, oceanfront home, comfortable for up to 9 people, in the small community known as First Bight. r n r nThe house features a modern kitchen with all conveniences: granite countertops,gas cooktop, wall oven, disposal, dishwasher, microwave, coffee-grinder and coffee-maker, toaster oven, food processor, blender, etc. The tiled living room, kitchen, and dining areas are large and airy and feel even more spacious because of the stunning vaulted wood cupola ceiling and the massive wood French doors that face the ocean. These doors all catch the ocean breezes and beckon visitors to barbeque on the gas grill or just relax and watch the sunset from over 2000 square feet of decks and gazebos. There is an infinity pool that overlooks the ocean and the stone patios and benches surrounding it are perfect for sunbathing. All 3 bedrooms have vaulted ceilings, louvered windows, ceiling and floor fans, hardwood floors, luxury linens, and the two largest bedrooms have their own oceanview decks. Our master bedroom is very privately situated in its own wing and includes a queen bed , a huge master bathroom with 2 vanity sinks and a walk-in shower. The other two bedrooms share a full bath . One room contains a bunkbed and an extra long twin and the other bedroom has a queen bed. There is a very comfortable sofabed in the living room and a queen-size aero-bed if you want to sleep under the stars in one of the gazebos. r n r nThe turquoise waters of the Caribbean are steps away from the house across the Ironshore. In addition, there is always easy access through the community dock a short walk away in First Bight or at the community beach a few doors down from the house. 3 kayaks are also available for your pleasure. r n r nSome of the best wall diving on Roatan is a short swim or kayak away in front of this house where the snorkeling is also excellent. Send a list of products you would like stocked and ready for you. From alcohol, ice and limes, to fresh fish and breads and bagels. Only 20% added to the bill will cover it which saves you a day of hassle and taxis. More time left for the beach! This island house is located right in the Westend, in a safe neighborhood, surrounded be family and friends that will take care of you. The reason we have lots of repeat guests, is its home, if you need a screw driver its there. Parking is great and safe. And we have the best manager to help you settle in. Your love it, Not you typical empty rental. And if your a cook your have everything that you need. And more. We own 2 restaurants and therefor we know what you need. At least i hope so! Our guest always leave repellents and medical things that they dont want to take home. There in the back of the door in the bathroom. and let me tell you., I have the best shower on the Island.
