Description:Garden Cottage is self-contained and located within our established woodland garden in the small rural township of Stanley, north east Victoria. This is quite simply a glorious spot - calm, quiet and yet just 10 minutes from historic Beechworth. One guest said it was 'head clearing' space which can't be bad! The cottage has a queen-sized bed and lovely crisp, cotton sheets. We find that many people want to stay simply to wind down, watch the birdlife, go for long walks, read or maybe even write that novel (and we do have writers who come to stay for lengthy periods). Beechworth offers extensive shopping - as well as all the basics - and the selection of food and places to eat is impressive. This region is one of the most highly respected by gourmet travellers and day trips out into the wineries and beyond are always inspiring. Day trips can also include travelling up into the Alps, walking in the mountains and really experiencing just what this north eastern landscape has to offer. You have all of the technology you can possibly need, new TV/DVD, a great kitchen and even a washing machine for the longer stays.
