Description:Vacation rental on the Mendocino Coast, amidst gardens, meadows & forest, 3.5 hours north of San Francisco. Our Quiet Meadow Cottage is located on the spectacular Mendocino Coast in a beautiful rural area just 1.5 miles from Pacific Ocean on 13 acres of gardens, meadows and redwood forests, with horses and llamas next door on our quiet, dead-end, paved road. We are 5 miles from the fishing village of Albion, 12 from historically preserved coastal village of Mendocino (an art, wine and food lover's paradise), and 20 to 30 miles from Fort Bragg’s harbor, ocean fishing, whale-watching cruises, sand dunes, Botanical Gardens, the historic Skunk Train, two virgin redwood preserves, and many Anderson Valley wineries. Our guest cottage is clean, cozy and quiet with a queen bedroom, tub & shower bathroom, small kitchen, sunny deck, and a comfy, sun-filled living room (with 2 additional day-beds). No other houses are in sight (besides the owners' next door), deer and wild turkeys frequent the meadow in front, nearby are extensive flower and vegetable gardens, and at night what you usually hear most is the distant ocean surf. Costs: For one or two people during the off-season (Oct-March, excluding holidays) it's $125 first night and $75 each additional night, or $500 per week. During the peak season (May-Sept holidays) it's $150 for the first night, $100 each additional night, and $650 per week. There is a 2-night minimum for holidays and peak season weekends. If there are more than two people and extra bedding is needed, add a one-time fee of $25 per bed ('tho if you bring that extra bedding, there is no fee), and in all cases add a 11% county bed tax. There are no other fees. To keep the cottage fresh for all occupants, smoking and pets are not permitted. More photos can be sent to you upon request, and several photos of the property, garden and Mendocino Coast area can be viewed at the owners' home-exchange website: Note that we have video and DVD players and a TV set for movies, but we do not get TV reception or cable. Cell phone reception is sketchy-- it works for some carriers and not for others. There is a phone in the cottage in case you want to give it to family or friends, and which you may use freely for local calls. The internet is accessible thru a high-speed Internet connection via a satellite dish. The cold Pacific Ocean 1.5 miles away keeps our summer daytime temp below 80 degrees-- 60 degrees during foggy days-- and nights can go as low as 45 in summer and 30 in winter. Bring layers. The cottage is heated centrally by a Monitor propane heater whose thermostat you can adjust to your desired temperature. And we do provide all bedding, towels, two bathrobes, hair-dryer, iron and ironing board. You're also welcome to use our propane BBQ, 2 bikes and canoe. The check-in time is 3pm, and check-out is noon. We do not provide breakfasts or meals. The kitchen includes a propane stovetop, mini-fridge, sink, microwave and toaster ovens, stick blender, toaster, coffee maker and tea kettle, plus sugar, salt & pepper, and usually some teas. However, you need to bring your own coffee, cream and all the food you want to eat. Many restaurants are available in the area, and Albion village has a good little grocery store and deli. Description:This house is the perfect example of location, location, location. The proximity to the beach makes this 2 bedroom, 2 bath house awesome. One of the older homes, it has been a labor of love as periodic remodeling takes place. The entry and kitchen are new as is the master bath. A brand new deck provides for comfortable seating to watch the sunset. The hot tub is uniquely perfect. A few yards from the master bedroom, across new landscaping, the hot tub is implanted directly over the ocean in its own little wind-protected perfectly landscaped nook. This is where the magic is.

Description:The Sunset Beach house is a brand new home which has been meticulously designed and crafted. It is a single story dwelling with no steps except to the roof top deck. Each room throughout the home has its own color and theme. Enjoy the comfortable high end (custom made) furniture. The great room has exposed beams and a large well stocked kitchen complete with counter seating. There are warm hardwood floors throughout. Description:Many of the first homes built at Irish Beach were designed by Berkeley architect, George Klett. Such is the Barlow house, understated and elegant. It sits directly above the ocean, in the bluffs that wind along the beach. The surf roars and pounds on the rocks below. The living spaces are large and open, distinguished by high drop cross beam ceilings and a long row of higher windows which add more light to the already plentifully windowed living and dining room. The kitchen, fireplace and entry are all terracotta tile, which added to the redwood, are warmly enveloping. The large master bedroom is upstairs and the guest rooms and entertainment center with its own woodburning stove are downstairs. There is a TV in the main living area upstairs, as well. The hot tub is nestled behind L shaped glass walls that provide wind and view protection. Please be aware that the spa jets are weak because the tub is dated. The large front porch/deck with the lovely landscaping is perfect for mid-day lounging.This home DOES NOT provide any free unlimited long distance calling. Please plan accordingly.

Description:This is truly our most requested home. Window seats surround the living room in addition to a cozy game table, sofa and three sided fireplace. The hot tub is located on the deck facing the ocean. If you prefer, there is a double sized jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom with a magnificent view you could use to soak all your cares away. Granite tiled counters in the kitchen which is open to the dining area make entertaining a cinch. There's is no place I would rather be than in this well appointed and comfortable home.

Description:This is a great house for a group of young adults. There are plenty of bedrooms in this redwood home and a gas fireplace to keep you warm. The kitchen is very small, but there is a gas barbeque on the deck to grill great steaks, hamburgers or even abalone!

Description:Pretty in pink (and some blues and maroons), the design of this house is a bit unusual, but is very enjoyable. At the entry level is the kitchen, the dining room, the master bedroom and a guest room. Stepping down four steps and you are in the lovely living room with built-in bar, complete with overhead wine and glass rack, bay windows, sky lights, fireplace/heater and views everywhere. The kitchen smiles down from above and exits to the deck and hot tub, also accessible from the master bedroom. Views from the hot tub are spectacular. The baths for the master and guest bedrooms are lovely with built in cabinets and tiled showers and tubs. Geraniums and azaleas decorate the hot tub deck and the entry garden is also lovely. You will be right at home here.
