With a choice of four airports we are well placed to accept guests from all over Europe and beyond. n nAll our rooms are individually styled offering a high level of comfort and design to make your stay with us feel like a home from home. n nDuring the summer months breakfast and evening meals are served on our large terrace with excellent views of the Pierre-Lys gorge and the peaks of the Pyrenees mountains. n nIdeally located for touring the Cathar country with itâ,€,™,s Cathar Castles and Chateau 's, ancient gorges (our nearest, Pierre-Lys, is just two minutes away), 16th century villages, vineyards and more yet within easy reach of the coast (Narbonne and Perpignan) and ski resorts Font-Romeu (50min), Mijanes (27min), Les Angles (37min), Puyvalador (31min)) make this an ideal all year retreat. n nThis particular area is renowned for its water activities such as white water rafting, kayaking, canoeing, canyoning and hydrospeed as well as walking, cycling, hiking, horse riding, quad bikes, fishing and of course sight seeing. n nLes Eaux Tranquilles is situated at the northern end of the spectacular Gorge la Pierre-Lys (a world heritage site of outstanding natural beauty) some 320 metres above sea level on the edge of the pretty village of Belvianes et Cavirac. n nWe have tried to create a warm and friendly environment in which you can unwind from the stress of every day life. Our private park provides a sanctuary for our guests where they can sit by the river or on our terrace and relax with a bottle of wine enhanced by the sound of the river Aude in the background. n nThroughout the summer we frequently have barbeques on the terrace in the warm Mediterranean evenings where our friends and guests can mingle and take in that wonderful ambiance of the Pyrenees mountains. n nOur nearest town is Quillan which is 4km north of us on the D117. There are many restaurants and bars there as well as shops, banks. During the summer there are many outside concerts in the two squares not to mention our international folk festival which visits for two weeks in July. The folk festival also visits Belvianes for a night and we also enjoy our own three day fete with live music and entertainment. n nThe ancient CitÃ,©, of Carcassonne with its magnificent spires that inspired Walt Disney to draw for use in the film Sleeping Beauty is but a mere 50 minute drive away. In July the CitÃ,©, is the centrepiece of a magnificent fireworks spectacular that attracts visitors worldwide. n nOur grounds comprise of a large 0.75 hectare/2 acre (private) park which is bordered by the river Aude that rises in the Pyrenees and flows down to the sea at Narbonne (a hour and a half away). Amply stocked with both trout and salmon the river was visited by Robert Redford who stayed nearby some years back. During his stay he read a book called And a River Ran Through It. Seeing the Aude and watching it on its relentless journey to the sea he felt obligated to translate the book into a world famous film by the same name which he directed. n nEvery other year we are visited by the Tour de France which passes at the top of our road. n nThere are many picturesque lakes in close proximity in which you can swim or just take a picnic. Being the South of France we are within an easy hour and a half 's drive of the superb Mediterranean beaches with long sandy beaches with none of the high rise hotels so commonly found in Spanish resorts. Take the coast road to Spain and visit the small French fishing villages nestling in the tiny bays. Why not bring some fish back, fresh off the boats and cook it on our barbeque in the evening washed down with a excellent bottle of Languedoc Roussillon wine? n nWe are proud to have obtained a three star rating from Thomas Cook and a three keys rating from ClÃ,©,vacances (French Tourist Board) which makes us the highest ranking Chambres D 'HÃ,´,tes in the area. n

We can also arrange to pick you up from the airport or trains stations if you prefer not to come by car . n nHowever, if you come by car you can always do a trip to the Principality of Andorra, just one and a half hours away, or visit the Costa Brava in Spain, or to Figueres to visit Salvador Dali's museum, which is the same distance away. The Mediterrean though is only one hour's drive away. There are many resorts to visit in the Catalan area of France, Canet Plage, Argeles sur Mer, San Cyprien, Collioure, Port Vendres to name only a few. On the road down to the Mediterrean the D117, you will drive through the Defile de la Pierre Lys onwards towards Puilaurens, the Gorge de Galamus, Peypertuse and Queribus. n nThe many vineyards are not to be missed, the wine of the Languedoc Roussillon, comes from the warmest, driest and sunniest area of France, producing full bodied reds, sweet dessert and aperitif wines, the famous Blanquette de Limoux, which is a sparkling wine made by the champagne method and pre-dates champagne by over 200 years. This is know as the Blanquette de Limoux There are many producers in Limoux with an annual week-end fair the week-end before Easter to celebrate the vintage.
