Description:Simple. Comfortable. Cozy (only 250 sq. ft). At one time an artist's studio, the cabin/bungalow has been decorated with a local artist's work in addition to a few antiques and quirky collectibles. Ten minutes walking distance from downtown Carmel, the cabin is situated near and overlooking the Pebble Beach Forest in a residential neighborhood where you'll find yourself very close to nature . . . with an itinerant colony of woodpeckers on the property and squirrels to amuse. SPRING FLING BOOKINGS thru the end of May. Two night minimum unless the day before we haven't been booked. Single nights on the weekend (Friday and Saturday) can be booked the preceding Thursday of any particular weekend. Oh, and by the way, for those of you who haven't guessed . . . our cabin has HOT and cold water, indoor plumbing, heat, TV, broadband internet, and we provide a Continental breakfast of sorts . . . coffee, tea, fruit, yogurt and biscotti! No kitchen is available, but there is a microwave, small refrigerator and coffee pot. The Cabin is located on the same property as our family home, but totally separate and 50 steps from the main house. We're long-time residents (my grandmother and grandfather lived in what is now the Carmel Art Association Gallery), so we're knowledgeable about the area and able to help you find a masseuse, hire a pet sitter, and locate some of the many unique spots guidebooks don't mention. Also, we can accommodate a third person on a very thick futon ($25/visit). We are Pet Friendly but must charge an additional $25 for each pet during your stay (please note . . . Carmel is very pet oriented . . . walk the beach with your dog off-leash, and you're able to go to many restaurants and bars along with any well-behaved Fido). If you're visiting California's central coast for the first time, you'll find Carmel and the surrounding area an idyllic haven boasting nearly 100 miles of spectacular shoreline - described as the greatest meeting of land and sea. The unbridled beauty of Carmel and Monterey County's landscape and the mild, year-round weather offer endless opportunities for outdoor pursuits, from hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking, to golfing at legendary Pebble Beach. (Gym is open 24 hours) This house is a traditional 2-Story home with the living room, dining room, kitchen, half bath, and laundry room downstairs and the 3 bed rooms and 2 full baths up stairs. There is room to park about 4 cars but has no garage. The closest cross streets are Pacific and Grove in Monterey them to see what a great location IN Monterey 10 min walking to downtown. Driving its 2 Minutes literally from Pebble Beach Highway 1 Gate, 3-5 Minutes from Access to beaches, 2-4 Minutes from downtown Monterey Fisherman's Warf shopping, 5 Minutes to Cannery Row, Groceries, Recreation, The Del Monte Shopping Center (Restaurants, Movie Theaters, Shopping, Snacks, etc) and more. It has a fenced in back yard and a comfortable feeling. It has 3 beds 1 king in the master and a queen in each of the other rooms. Internet and cable (If you rent a movie it will be coming out of the deposit) the owner is young and flexible with what you would want in the house and or out of it and check ins and outs. You walk into the house to the right down the hall of the entry is the half bath and at the end of the hall is the laundry room. Straight through the entry to the right is the dining room that is open to the kitchen in the dining room there is a sliding glass door to the side yard. Opposite the dining room is the living room with fireplace, TV, and computer. Through the living room is sliding glass door to the back yard that if fenced in and has gas BBQ. Straight ahead from the entry past the dining room and kitchen are the stairs up to the bedrooms from the top of the stairs you have the master on the left. In the master you have a double sink vanity with large closets with full sized mirror closet doors through that and through the door is the shower and toilet you have a TV with full cable box. Back at the top of the stairs to the right is the first guest room that is large with full sized mirror closet doors as well, elliptical machine, stereo, and TV. Continuing down the hall is the full bath (shower over tub) on the left and third bedroom on the right this is the smaller of the rooms and has a standard sized closet with mirrored closet doors. In the house you have full sized appliances gas stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, mixers, coffee machine, washer and dryer they all work and are in very good condition. A cozy cottage nestled in the redwood forest, a short distance to HWY 1. HWY 1 is the Pacific Coast HWY, the main vein to Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur, Capitola and Santa Cruz and the HWY 101 Corridor. Or if you are looking for some peace and quiet. A restorative break from your life. This is an excellent choice. People come from all over the world to experience the Pacific Coast specifically the Monterey Bay area. It is an area rich in history. Here you will find world class art, music, cuisine, golf, surfing, sightseeing, hiking, biking, sunbathing, whale watching, birding, fishing, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and so much more. You can spend the day engaged in a variety of activities, physical and/or cultural. However you spend your day you can return home to a mountain cottage and quiet. Spend your evening relaxing in the hot tub secluded in the Redwoods. Looking south from inside the cottage is the largest window which affords the incredible view of the Pajaro Valley. The queen size bed is placed so you can enjoy gazing out upon the fertile valley while lying in bed. Some mornings the fog lays down so perfectly one can feel wonderfully alone looking out at the sea of soft white. Sunsets are often remarkably beautiful. Sit on the front deck in an Adirondack chair with a cup of tea or glass of wine and enjoy creation. In the morning and evenings you can sit and watch and listen to the Mourning Doves, Band Tailed Pigeons, Oregon Juncos, Stellars and Scrub Jays, Hummingbirds, Hawks and Ravens. The cottage is bungalow style. It is like a large open studio. There is no seperate bedroom. Just inside the big window there is a delicious couch and a loveseat that provide comfortable viewing from inside the cottage. The couch is large enough for a fine nap. It is also a great place to snug down with a book or magazine or some knitting. The gas heater stove is particularly cozy on a cool day. There is a piano in the cottage as well. Feel free to play. The cottage is fully equipped with a kitchen including a reproduction antique stove and small refrigerator. It has a newly installed bamboo floor. One can enjoy their breakfast with a breath taking view. Coffee and tea in the kitchen are for your enjoyment. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Bedding and fresh linens are provided. The cottage is heated with a natural gas stove. There is an oil heater for extra chilly nights. There is plenty of open space inside to accommodate several people practicing yoga at the same time. And it is quiet enough for meditation. We find many of our guests are looking for peace and quiet in their busy lives. It can be found here. Occasionly the guests spend many days resting, reading, etc. inside the cottage or on the beautiful deck that looks out to Pajaro Valley. The weather here is excellent. It is located in a micro climate called a banana belt. Though the beach is only 25 minutes away we are often in the sun when our neighbors in the valley and on the coast are in the fog. Winters are mild we average 25 of rainfall a year. Summers can be warm but delightful. The fog rolling in at night is nature's air conditioner and everything cools down. The weather is nearly perfect. Fog burns off early enough to make the beaches comfortable all day. The Santa Cruz Mountains are home to Sequoia Sempervirens commonly known as a Redwood Tree. They are native only to a specific part of Pacific Coast region. Come and visit our amazing part of the world and experience something special about the California Coast. - There are books, magazines, games and puzzles for your entertainment. -Television, DVD player and DVDs in the cottage. -Massage in the cottage can be arranged. -Laundry can be arranged for a small fee. We are a green establishment. Environmentally friendly cleaning products are used. We ask our guests to consider using fewer towels during their stay and not requesting a sheet change unless your stay is longer than a week. Rates: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 195.00 a night Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 165.00 a night Two night minimum on weekends. The cottage is suitable for two people. It is a large open bungalow studio. The bedroom is not separate. Please inquire about our small studio in the redwoods (within walking distance of the cottage) if your party is larger than two and you would like to stay near eachother. A cleaning fee of 95.00 will be charged. No exceptions. There is no smoking in the cottage. You are welcome to smoke outside. The full amount for your stay must be paid two weeks prior to your arrival. It will be assumed that you are not coming if you are not paid in full at that time.
