This spectacular estate on 33 acres is an amazing place for celebrating family events. The 4500 square foot home, extensively remodeled in the summer of 2010, features 5 bedrooms and 5 1/2 baths comfortably sleeping 12. The outdoor facilities include an immense travertine pool deck & outdoor kitchen, Bocce Ball courtyard and Wine Cave, tennis court, garden areas, terraced olive groves, 2 acre lake with sand beach, 6 acre vineyard and 12 acres of woods. A thrilling 100' water slide leads from the pool level to the water-trampoline in the lake. From the property there is ready access to dozens of local wineries, local restaurants and shopping from Costco to the boutiques around the Sonoma Square. The best private golf courses in the area include the Sonoma Golf Club and Mayacama, both of which are tour-quality, and at which tee times can be arranged by the property owners. Outdoor activities available on the property keep kids and adults busy. The 5000 square foot travertine pool deck includes a 24x60 salt water pool and a massive custom hot tub. Children under the age of 3 are not included in this limit. - A maximum of 18 guests on the property at any time, except for Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas when the limit is 35. - Special events (weddings and other large gatherings) which exceed these limits require a Use Permit which can be obtained from the county, but may require a lead time of 6 weeks or more. - No amplified music outdoors at any time, and quiet hours from 10PM to 9 AM. Non-Compliance with the ordinance can result in loss of the right to operate as a vacation rental and significant loss of revenue to the property owners. Description:Castle Crag has two master bedrooms with queen beds and en suite bathrooms, a third bedroom with a queen size bed and shared bathroom, and a fourth bedroom with 2 twin beds and attached shared bathroom. A queen-size futon in the sunroom provides a fifth bed if needed. Two decks provide space for barbecue, sun shade and large hot tub. The main living area on the upper floor is a spacious sunny area with connecting living room, sunroom (family room) and full-size kitchen. The living room has a stone fireplace and a direct supply of firewood through a special built-in wood cupboard. Pets Allowed. Smoking Allowed ONLY Outside on the Decks. The house is on the hillside behind Jenner which affords incredible views of the river and the ocean. Excellent stargazing can be done from the upper deck (bring binoculars and telescope). The village is somewhat sheltered from ocean breezes, so pleasantly warm weather is the typical climate for most of the year, with occasional sea mists which come up the river. Castle Crag is a place to relax from the bustle of the cities and freeways, and yet is still within very short driving distance of the finest experiences offered in California. 'Castle Crag ' is situated in the quiet and quaint village of Jenner, at the mouth of the Russian River about one hour north of San Francisco. It has magnificent views of the river valley and the entrance to the ocean. A short walk to the ocean reveals a resplendent wildlife including a seal rookery, pelican, gulls, cormorant, sandpiper, osprey, humming bird, and many more. Swimming, surfing, sailing, etc. are 15 minutes south at Salmon Creek and Bodega (made famous in the Hitchcock movie 'The Birds '). Excellent hiking trails are only minutes away, as well as canoeing and rafting which can be enjoyed on the Russian River nearby. The magnificent Armstrong Redwood Park is 20 minutes along the river. Located near Guerneville and Healdsburg, Summerland Cabin is a perfect, cozy 1938 cabin set in the towering redwoods overlooking the Russian River near Steelhead Beach and Burke's Canoe Rental. Or warm your muscles in the large hot tub that is practically on top of the river. Summerland has 2 decks over the river and one in the front of the house. You have a full kitchen, a dining area and a very large 15 x 25 living space. There are 3 cozy bedrooms, one bathroom with shower and a half bath off the main bedroom. The front of the large property has blackberry bushes and a fruit orchard which bears apples, pears, figs, cherries and plums. The bedrooms maintain a cozy cabin feel with a great mix of tasteful decor and comfortable furniture. You can walk down the short trail to the river for a splash or to fish, walk 5 minutes upstream to the beach at Steelhead Beach Park. Or go meditate in the circular stand of redwoods. Take a short 15 minute drive to Healdsburg or Sebastopol. Five minutes from Guerneville. Sleeps 6: Large BR with Queen, Small BR with Double, Tiny BR with 2 Twin Beds. This is a personal residence and a wonderful, rustic cabin set in the redwoods, so you may see a spider or cobweb or leaves that have fallen onto the deck.
