Description:Only 2 miles to the ski slopes! The Beech Mountain Lodge is designed for large groups, and can sleep up to 36 or more. There is a large stone fireplace in the great room, along with TWO GIANT-SCREEN HOME THEATERS (one with a 72 screen and one with a TEN FOOT SCREEN!) for watching movies or other media from the high-speed family-friendly wireless Internet and Wii game system. There are four queen-size bedrooms and two bunk-rooms, along with two sleeping lofts. Very few homes offer five couples rooms, and we have many multi-family vacations, family reunions, church retreats, scout troops, and others use the Lodge. We also have a large family gathering room so that everyone can get together in one place for playing games, or having a meeting. We are located at the charming resort town of Beech Mountain, the highest town East of the Rocky Mountains at over 5,500 feet. We are just 2 miles from the ski-slopes, winter being one of the most popular time of year here, but there is a certain mystery and aura about the mountains such that we have many guests throughout the rest of the year for mountain biking, hiking, horse-back riding, white-water rafting, tennis, golf and many other mountain activities. One popular feature is that being so high, our summers are cool, rarely exceeding 78 degrees during the day, and often dipping into the 50 's at night. n When growing up, my parent 's large vacation home in the mountains was regularly filled with many families enjoying time together, and I designed the Beech Mountain Lodge with those memories in mind. We love having large groups with families and children, finding a place of refreshment, rest, fun, laughter and recreation. We also have dedicated the house to the service of Christ and his people, and the house and those who come are prayed for regularly by people throughout the world. n We engaged a professional interior designer for all the decorations, and probably the most common comment we get about the house is that it 's beautiful. n We also have learned over the years that it is important for a person on vacation to get a good night 's rest, so we did several things to help ensure that happens. For one, we invested in very comfortable beds, and often have people comment about that. We 've even been told it was the most comfortable bed they 'd ever slept in. We also went out of our way to put sound-proofing throughout the house, using double insulated walls and floors throughout. n We have been pleased with the great feedback that we have received from so many guests, and hope you will read some of what they have had to say. We thank the Lord that he has allowed us to have such a wonderful place in the mountains, deep in the Pisgah National Forest, and we pray that it will be used in people 's lives to help them come to know more deeply the God that loves them through his son, our savior, Jesus Christ.
