The villa is in an isolated position, and is completely surrounded by tall pine trees. n nVilla Tristano Grande is situated halfway between Florence and Siena , and is just 15 km (a little more than 9 miles) from San Gimignano. n nVilla Tristano Grande has nine bedrooms, of which five are double-bedded and four have two single beds each, and six bathrooms with tub or shower. n nThe villa is part of a Tuscan farming estate, the oldest part of which dates back to around the year 1200. n nActually, the farm is a working agricultural estate that produces excellent extra-virgin olive oil, Chianti wine and white wine, vinsanto and liquor. You can taste and purchase all of these products on the estate. n nYou will find the exterior of Villa Tristano Grande extremely graceful: you will see a long building, which has at one corner an elegant tower of red brick, with large arched windows. The setting is ripe with the astonishing rolling hills and the wine country that Tuscany is so well known for. During the 13th and 14th centuries it flourished as one of the major cities of Europe, growing rich from banking and the wool trade.
