At this Tuscany villa rental in northern Siena, you will be the master of your own domain! Spend afternoons wandering through over five hundred acres of vineyards, olive groves, and gardens, or organize and outing to one of the nearby cities... including Siena and Florence. However you choose to spend your days, this accommodation in Tuscany will not disappoint you. n nThis Estate is a 13th century borgo with an old farmhouse, wine cellars, olive and oil mills, carpenter shop, small church, and stables. The villa has belonged to the same family since the 17th century. The beautiful property is over 250 hectares [about 625 acres], and includes vineyards that produce a wonderful Chianti Classico, olive trees [which produce a tasty extra virgin oil], hay fields and woods. The view from the estate includes rolling hills, the old walled town of Monteriggioni, and in the distance, the towers of San Gimignano. There is ample area for parking on the property. The 500 meter unpaved driveway leading to the villa is lined with cypress, and opens to a well preserved Italian garden. The antique swimming pool [11 m x 6 m x 2 m] is surrounded by classical statues. This pool is open from 1 May to mid-October. A second, larger swimming pool [15m x 7m] is located by the out-buildings and has a lovely view over an infinity-edge. There is a BBQ area available, there is a bocce court in the back garden, and billiard and table tennis are both available. No children under the age of 14 are allowed on the property, due to the valuable antiques inside the villa and around the pool. nThe villa features original furniture from the 17th century and frescos in the Empire bedroom, the dining room, the ballroom, and the Egyptian library. The friendly and hospitable owners live on the third floor of the Villa [separate entrance], and the guardians live on the property along with other farmers on the estate. The owners' dogs have their own enclosed garden, however, they can be heard during their daily walks on the property! The private area outside the Villa consists of the Italian garden, equipped with large sunshades, wood deck chairs, and marble table with wrought iron chairs for 8 people. nLa Casa is a spacious and independent rustic country house, independent from the villa, near the second swimming pool with a garden area overlooking the vineyards. There is a large fig tree providing shade and a barbecue area and table tennis. There is an outside table for eating that can seat twelve, and there is other garden furniture. On the grounds there are also a bocce court and an archery range. The house is furnished with simple, antique furniture, terra cotta floors, wood beamed ceilings, and whitewashed walls. There are wonderful views from all of the windows. nLa Volta is a bright and spacious farmhouse that is ideal for families and groups. There is a private garden area with barbecue and marble table. nThe entire estate can sleep a total of 32 people. nEvery Saturday the bedrooms and bathrooms are cleaned and the linens and towels are changed. Additional cleaning is available at 10 Euros per hour. Dinner services are available [with advance notice] for 45 Euros per person for a minimum of 6 people [wine is not included]. Cooking lessons are also available [with advance notice] for 100 euros per person for a minimum of 4 people, maximum of 6 people. n nLa Villa: nEach floor is 400 m2 in size. nGround floor: There is a very large sitting room with frescos, decorated ceilings, columns and fireplaces, with a dining room area with seating for six. French doors open onto the Italian garden. There is a Billiard room, and a modern kitchen that faces the back garden with a big wooden table. There is a dishwasher, gas cook top, toaster, filter coffee pot, Italian coffee pot, mixer and oven. A door leads to a shower room and two toilets. nFirst floor: A cherry wood staircase leads up to the first floor where there is the main entrance, a beautiful dining room decorated with frescos and a table that can seat up to 20 people. There is also a library and a sitting room. There are three double bedrooms room and two bathrooms. The Cardinal bedroom has a double bed, two windows, and a fireplace. The Dutch bedroom has a queen bed, two windows, and a little sitting room with a library with telephone. The two bedrooms share a bathroom with tub, bidet, WC, and wonderful views of Monteriggioni. The Empire bedroom has a double bed with canopy, a private sitting room, and an en suite bathroom with tub, bidet and WC. Description:Ranuncolo is a magnificent Tuscan country house, located in arguably the most picturesque setting of Italy - the Val d'Orcia area of Tuscany. The setting is ripe with the astonishing rolling hills and the wine country that Tuscany is so well known for. Set on a wonderfully private piece of land, this area was the exact setting for the Oscar winning movie The English Patient and the breathtaking panoramic countryside scenes from the Gladiator. n nThe entrance to the property brings you up a private driveway, through a large, iron gate, and into a parking area that can easily park 4 vehicles. The driveway continues to the back of the villa where there is another parking area for another several cars. n nThe Villa can be entered through several access points, but the main entrance to the property faces west and takes you along its wonderful garden filled with lettuces and vegetables that can be picked and used during your stay. n nThe Villa is a two-story building, with the ground floor encompassing the main entertainment area: living room with several couches and various seating areas, a reading room with a large fireplace and large, leather reading chairs, the dining room, with a great, rectangular wood table for up to 14 people. The main entertainment area on the ground floor is a large, open space, divided into various areas, allowing the group to all be together or independent, as they prefer. n nThe dining room bleeds into a spectacular Tuscan kitchen equipped with all the modern comforts, but keeping the aesthetic of what you would both want and expect in a Tuscan property. There is an open fire grill wonderful for cooking meats and fish, an 8-range stovetop, a large, double oven, and as if that were not enough, an external wood fire grill area as well. n nThere is a lovely external, covered dining area facing the back garden off that extends outside, off of the main, internal dining area as well as a half bath off of the dining area. n nThe first of the 6 bedrooms is a suite, located off of the main living room on the ground floor. The bedroom enjoys a separate, small study and living room area, while the bedroom enjoys a large double bed, hidden closet area, and full bathroom with shower. n nThe second through fifth bedrooms are located on the second floor. The first is a lovely, large suite with a rainfall shower, a separate bathtub, a king size bed, and the most amazing panorama available. n nThe second and third are in a large suite, sharing a common living room with a beautiful fireplace and flat-screen T.V. The first bedroom is a double and the second a twin, both with en-suite bathrooms with showers. n nThe fifth bedroom , also on the second floor, is a double with en-suite bath with shower. The sixth and final bedroom is a dependence with a double bed and en-suite bathroom, located next to the external dining area in the back garden. n nA two story annex with three bedrooms (double/twin), all en suite accommodations, at the ground floor and gym, relax area, lounge, bar and kitchenette in the loft. n nThe external area of the property is absolutely breathtaking. There is a large (52 foot x 16.5 foot) heated, infinity pool and a lovely 8 x 8 foot Jacuzzi overlooking the rolling hills.
