But among the endless local spots here in town that provide it, The Bagelry, at 1636 Seabright Ave. - approx. 3 minutes drive from the studio - offers free wifi. Helpful hint: read my Guidebook for a few more free wifi spots. Subject to increased nightly price on certain high demand dates, and seasonal rate changes - check listing calendar as varying rates are always posted in advance. At this time, I'm sorry to report that I can no longer allow pets to stay at my rental. :( REGARDING DIRECTIONS TO MY RENTAL, PLEASE READ One of the best features of my studio is that it is a separate, detached, and very private unit from the main house on the property, with its own separate private parking space, fenced yard, and it's own, separate entrance. For these reasons, I give booked guests SIMPLE, exact directions on how to reach the studio, and I meet them there to check in. The studio has the same address as the front house, but is at the rear of the property and is accessed by an alley which runs parallel the full length of Pacheco Ave.. I always provide exact directions via email after bookings, SO PLEASE FOLLOW THEM AND MEET ME THERE, NOT AT THE MAIN HOUSE, (simply because if I am awaiting your arrival at your actual destination, I will not hear you knocking on the door of a different house). Description:The House of Lights n17 guests will sleep comfortably in this spacious retreat with 7 sleeping areas. Catch up with friends and family at your private outdoor free-form swimming pool that is warmer than the ocean and the bubbling hot tub. nOn the main floor, you will find a large vaulted ceiling great room that has plenty of room for entertaining and being entertained with an octagonal transom light at the top. One wall is a wonderfully equipped kitchen with a long island and chairs on the opposite side for guests to talk to those cooking without being in their way. There is also a good sized table for formal dinners or it can easily be set up for a buffet. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths on the main floor. On the lower floor there are 2 bedroom suites with private baths and small convenience kitchen areas built-in to large closets. There are several decks on almost every side of the home. nDown a winding stairway of this 5-acre estate, is a sunny meadow with several sitting areas and fire pits. This meadow can be a playground for all sorts of games, including but not limited to croquet, bottci ball, tag football, gunny sack races and more. nAbove the pool and hot tub area, there is a small deck with a nice BBQ and a little room that is a nice area for fixing other parts of the meal. A garden has been started and the herbs and other plants are available for your use. There are several fountains and other water features on all sides of the home. nThis home lends itself to large group discussions or private one-on-one conversations. Just 3-mins down the road is the Landmark Casalegnola convenience store, which is a local fun place to visit or have a cold drink at the picnic tables in front. nIf you can tear yourself away from this piece of paradise, the New Brighton State Beach park is just 10-min down the road, as is the charming twinkly-light village of Capitola with restaurants right on the sand, unique little shops, and several wine tasting rooms. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is just a scenic 45-min drive south. nDon 't miss Santa Cruz 's latest feature the Exploratorium at the foot of the Santa Cruz Wharf near the Boardwalk. Less than 2 blocks to the ocean with some very interesting homes and other structures in the neighborhood, it is a delightful place to walk. It is also just about 4 blocks to the Natural Bridges State Beach which is famous as a Monarch Butterfly wintering area. nThe cottage sleeps up to 7, with 1 queen bed in the 1st bedroom, a double bed in the 2nd bedroom and a queen sofa-sleeper in the den. The couch in the living room has another twin when you remove the cushions. The full kitchen features a gas stove, dishwasher, microwave and lots of counter space. There are nicely refinished hardwood floors throughout most of the home. nThe Fair Butterfly Cottage has spacious front and back yards with mature flowering plants and plenty of play room. Description:Lighthouse View Villa nLighthouse View Villa is a top of the world, 3-story home that has one of the BEST views in Santa Cruz. From the top deck, you can see the lighthouse at the end of the Harbor, the famous Giant Dipper at the Boardwalk, the Santa Cruz wharf, the Twin Lakes Lagoon & the Surfer Museum Lighthouse! This deck has 2 lounge chairs to relax in and a hot tub big enough for 4-6 guests. nThe Lighthouse View Villa is just 4-houses to the beach and a 30-second walk to the sand. Enjoy the spectacular ocean view from the master bedroom with a private deck that has a patio table and chairs for your morning coffee. This is luxurious living at its best. nThe large kitchen has four bar stools at a teak counter, teak cabinets, & a Jen-Aire inside grill on the stove top! There is also a high top table with six chairs. The deck has a gas BBQ and a four person table right outside. Description:Yacht Harbor Home nThe Yacht Harbor Home is an elegant home that sleeps up to 10 with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Enjoy the fun spiral staircase that goes up to the spacious crows nest deck with peeks of the ocean and harbor. This deck has 4-outdoor chairs. The front of the home also has a large deck for entertaining with a spacious teak table. There are benches built along the outer edge for lots of seating. nThe 1st bedroom has a flat screen TV and a Queen bed with a door opening to a rear private deck with a hot tub and an adjacent full bath. The 2nd bedroom has a Queen bed and a private full bath. The 3rd bedroom is down a somewhat steep, short set of stairs and has 2 Twin beds, which is great for the kids room. There is also a Queen sofa sleeper in the living room and a Queen futon in the den area of the living room by the fire-stove. There is a privacy curtain that separates these two beds from each other. nThe living room with the adjoining den (which is the L-shaped wing off the living room) features another flat screen TV. Description:Come experience a peaceful and quiet get-a-way above the fog line in the Aptos mountains with a million dollar view! The cottage overlooks an old apple orchard that is surrounded by majestic redwood trees. Relax on a large private deck overlooking the peaceful valley and soak in the sunshine. Lay around by the pool or swim in a beautiful setting. Take a walk along the quiet country road. Whatever you choose to do during your stay, there is something about this peaceful little haven that will sooth your senses. Apple Orchard Cottage is located 5 miles from the historic and quaint little town of Aptos, CA. It is a 15 minute drive from Aptos Village of which 2 miles wind through a lush canopy of trees on a paved, one lane private road. It is 15 minutes from town and the beach. Aptos has great restaurants, a theater, shopping, coffee shops, Safeway and CVS as well as a natural food store. Aptos is centrally located to Santa Cruz and Monterey. The cottage is single level and has close and easy access from parking. The Apple Orchard Cottage, also referred to lovingly as “The Granny Unit”, shares property with our home but has plenty of privacy. Amenities: Kitchen (full and functional): Gas stove/oven, microwave refrigerator- full size coffee pot and coffee bean grinder toaster. The kitchen is also stocked with an assortment of basic condiments—olive oil, vinegar, sugar, salt 100% cotton 500 thread count sheets full mattress encasement from “Protect A Bed” the ultimate in bedbug and dust mite protection technology. The comforter is either in a cotton duvet cover (or has a cotton sheet over the top) which is washed after each guest. Pillows are double cased too. Bathroom: Large tiled shower, soap, shampoo and conditioner hair dryer Living room: Sofa love seat and day bed with trundle. 30 HD Flat Screen TV with DVD player. TV may come in sporadically but cannot be counted on. Deck-Private: The deck wraps around the front and side of the cottage and has a stunning view. There is a table and chairs under a canopy that allows filtered sun. Also 2 Zero Gravity lounge chairs to relax in. Smoking is NOT permitted INSIDE the cottage however, it is allowed OUTSIDE on the deck, away from the cottage windows. The swimming pool on premises is available for use. The water temperature varies throughout the year as it is SUN HEATED ONLY. It reaches 80 degrees in the summer as it has full sun exposure all day! In the off seasons or when there is no sun, it can be chilly and enjoyed by polar bears. Maybe someday we will have it heated year round. The pool is a shared area but is not used very often, so don't be surprised if you seem to have it all to yourself! This is paradise for the person who loves wildlife, as in nature not partying. Deer abound. Bobcats are frequently seen wondering the property. Wild turkeys come and go. Bunnies frolic around the property most the day. Birds are abundant. Swallows arrive in April, leave in July. About 10 hummingbirds live here year round. We have a quiet and friendly dog named Riley that wanders the property, but he will not be able to get into your private area. We cherish the quiet and solitude. The Apple Orchard Cottage is truly a rare and peaceful get-away from the hustle and bustle of life. The Cottage is in a country and rural setting but has all amenities needed for comfort, relaxation and enjoyment. Your hosts are near enough should you need anything, yet far enough to ensure your privacy. Pets are allowed by special permission. They must be trained, housebroken, no fleas and not allowed on the furniture or left in the cottage alone. Cell phone service is sporadic at best with all services but Verizon. Verizon works great most (98%) of the time. There is no land line phone in the cottage. Wi-Fi wireless can be accessed from the cottage and sometimes from the pool area. The Wi-Fi service accommodates BASIC internet usage only, and is NOT intended for streaming, gaming or any other high bandwidth usage. As an added value to our Cottage Guests, we are providing at no additional cost to you...drum roll please....2 all day guest passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium! You can go all day or just drop in for a couple hours. The aquarium is about a 45 minute drive south on Highway 1. Just let us know if you would like to use the passes and for what day(s) and they will be provided. Enjoy!

Enjoy the same expansive view as you take your meals at a round glass-topped dining table and chairs that seat four in the opposite corner. Should you prefer to be entertained electronically, a 42-inch flat-screen TV with LED, HDL and BluRay is provided. The living room also has a comfortable chaise perfect for reading or watching movies and TV. n n The surprisingly large kitchen, with its color scheme of bright and creamy whites, includes an electric stove, microwave and refrigerator (no dishwasher). Built-in cabinetry offers plenty of storage. The popular destinations of historic Monterey and the artist colony of Carmel-by-the-Sea are 10 minutes away by car.
