Description:Make yourself at home in a private detached unit studio in centrally located bright, sunny Santa Cruz Banana Belt. A charming escape destination right in the middle of Santa Cruz. Quickly accessed from the main highway running through town. A mere 5 minutes from beaches, (closest to Seabright Beach), surfing, Boardwalk, Yacht Harbor, Municipal Wharf, West Cliff Drive, Downtown shopping. Walking distance to organic foods market, fine dining, bus stops, banks/ATM, groceries, post office, coffee shops, gym, theater, etc.. 10 minute drive to State Parks, and Santa Cruz's own Mystery Spot. Queen size bed, plus twin sleeper couch for kids/additional guests. Bathroom with shower. fresh towels, kitchenette with dishes and utensils, oven/stove, microwave, coffeemaker (we provide the coffee), refrigerator/freezer. Washer/dryer for laundry. HDTV. Private patio inside own fenced yard with lush mini black bamboo forest. Own designated private off-street parking space. Please note: **** THERE IS NO WIFI, INTERNET, OR CABLE TV ****(just making sure everybody saw that)! If this is a critical component of your vacation, then my apartment probably isn't the one to choose. But among the endless local spots here in town that provide it, The Bagelry, at 1636 Seabright Ave. - approx. 3 minutes drive from the studio - offers free wifi. Helpful hint: read my Guidebook for a few more free wifi spots. Subject to increased nightly price on certain high demand dates, and seasonal rate changes - check listing calendar as varying rates are always posted in advance. At this time, I'm sorry to report that I can no longer allow pets to stay at my rental. :( REGARDING DIRECTIONS TO MY RENTAL, PLEASE READ One of the best features of my studio is that it is a separate, detached, and very private unit from the main house on the property, with its own separate private parking space, fenced yard, and it's own, separate entrance. For these reasons, I give booked guests SIMPLE, exact directions on how to reach the studio, and I meet them there to check in. The studio has the same address as the front house, but is at the rear of the property and is accessed by an alley which runs parallel the full length of Pacheco Ave.. I always provide exact directions via email after bookings, SO PLEASE FOLLOW THEM AND MEET ME THERE, NOT AT THE MAIN HOUSE, (simply because if I am awaiting your arrival at your actual destination, I will not hear you knocking on the door of a different house). Again, if you overlook what's described here and just follow your GPS, you will end up at the wrong place. Thanks and happy travels!

Description:Come discover why we are rated as the number 1 listing on airbnb.com. Shaded by Oak and Madrone trees and next to a Redwood grove, enjoy the great outdoors on the large deck or by taking a hike in the woods. (We have multiple acres next to land without fences.) We are going on a vacation ourselves March 29th to April 1st, so if you want to stay here for the March 30th to April 1st weekend, we will only accept your reservation if it also includes Thursday, March 29th. We currently have the weekend blocked, so if you want to stay here for the 3 nights, send us a message and we will open up the days. (Please read all of this description before making a reservation.) Santa Cruz county, we just discovered, considers places like ours taxable for the Transient Occupancy Tax that is charged at hotels in our county. So since airbnb isn't set up yet to charge this, and we are not allowed to include it in the rates we charge, we will need to collect this 9.5% tax from any future guests that stay here. It is due upon arrival. The cozy and clean semi-rustic cabin has a loft under a geodesic dome (the mushroom cap) with a double bed, which is a cotton futon with 1 of latex foam and 21/2 gel memory foam on top. (It is now softer for you folks who like a soft cushiony bed.) We provide clean sheets and pillow cases: you can chose either smooth cotton sheets or cotton flannel. Plenty of blankets are also provided. In the loft, we have a 22 LCD Screen with a DVD player (no TV) for movies. (We have some movies you can view as well.) We also recently added an air filter which ionizes and cleans the air. On the main floor (a Pentagon) is a couch that doubles as a narrow futon (which could sleep a third person for an extra $10.), as well as a mini kitchenette. Here you will find a double hotplate, small refrigerator, toaster oven, blender, Hot Air Popcorn Popper, French Coffee press, a salad spinner - even a mixer- and all the dishes and equipment you would need to prepare a snack or a meal. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals, games, etc.: 1 inside and 1 outside on the large deck that faces the redwoods. We now have new barbecue grill on the deck. We also provide Organic Coffee, teas, Oatmeal, raisins, spices, oil and vinegar and various snacks and filtered well water. The cute bathroom has a Travertine shower, custom tiled sink and flushing toilet. We provide towels, soap, a hair blow-dryer, etc. (a word of caution: the bathroom has a low ceiling. If you are over 6' you may have to do a little ducking here and there.) As Saturdays are very much in demand, (and we like to be free on Saturdays), we require a minimum 2 day stay on the weekends. Keep in mind that Friday and Saturday nights are $100. each.( $110 as of June 1st) Therefore, to stay here on the weekend will cost $200. plus the $30. cleaning fee plus 10% that airbnb will charge you ($23.). So the total will be $253. To stay for 2 days mid-week costs a grand total of $220. On 3 day holidays, we require a 3 day reservation. (This includes Memorial Day and Labor Day.) Although it feels very isolated here, we are less than 10 minutes to Aptos Village where you will find stores, restaurants, a theater, a health food store, Safeway, etc. We are centrally located on the Monterey Bay: 10 minutes from the beach (Rio Del Mar and Seacliff State Beach) as well as 10,000 acre Nisene Marks State Park for miles of hiking or dirt biking in the Redwoods and along Aptos creek. We are 20 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz, 25 min. to the Beach Boardwalk, 45 minutes to Monterey and the world-famous Monterey Aquarium, 50 min. to Carmel and 1 1/2 hours to Big Sur going south and San Francisco to the North. Yup, we are located in one of the most beautiful areas of California. If you love hummingbirds, bring your camera. Our garden is the year-round home to many Anna Hummingbirds. (We have about 60 - 80 year-round.) During the summer, we are also called home by many Rufus Hummers as well. So you have got to see our Hummingbird Airport! Please, no smoking in the cabin or on the property. We used to let smokers stay here, but they stink up the cabin. Some cell phones don't work here, but if you need to make local calls, you can use our home phone. You can get Verizon service on the swinging seat by the driveway. We do have free wifi in the cabin. To check out things to do in the area, check out You are invited, if you feel you would be harmonious here, to come join us on our developing Permaculture farm. Pet the goats and enjoy the very fresh air. We will give you some goat milk if you would like to try it. Tired of the heat? Since we are on the edge of the fog belt, it can be both sunny and cool here. If you want a noisy place, you won't like it here: most of the sound here comes from the birds chirping and the breeze blowing through the trees. People do live on the land here though, so don't expect it to be totally devoid of human sounds and the occasional saw. : )

Description:Come discover why Santa Cruz is such a popular destination. Our stand alone cottage (not in our back yard) is on a quiet alley way centrally located near great activities. Easy walking to the yacht harbor and beach so you can rent kayaks, surf boards, SUPs (stand up paddling). Bicycling along the ocean is fairly flat or go to the mountains for a challenging mountain bike ride. Or course one of the best beaches for sun bathing and volleyball is an easy two block walk right behind the ever popular Crow’s Nest Restaurant. (Please read all of this description before making a reservation. The pricing could be different depending on the length of your stay. Save $$$) Santa Cruz is No. 15 in TripAdvisor rankings TripAdvisor is listing Santa Cruz as No. 15 among U.S. destinations on the rise, partly for being one of America’s surfing capitals. The top three things to do as recommended by visitors: West Cliff Drive, for breathtaking views and a chance to see monarch butterflies, the San¬ta Cruz Beach Boardwalk and the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum. Santa Cruz Food Tour is the top-rated tour, fol¬lowed by Stagnaro Fishing Trips it has a very thin mattress. The charming bathroom has a blue tiled shower with unlimited hot water. There is also a hair dryer. The full kitchen comes with a toaster, blender, coffee maker, gas stove, microwave, and refrigerator. We also have an ironing board and iron for your convenience. Comcast provides services for Wi-Fi, the 32” flat screen TV, and telephone. There is also a DVD player and an iPod charging dock. We provide clean sheets, pillow cases, and blankets. For the bathroom we provide towels, hand towels, and wash clothes. There are also 4 beach towels. Within walking distance we have everything you need for a lazy day. For restaurants close by you can walk to the Crow’s Nest, Johnny’s Harborside, El Palomar Café, The Kind Grind (coffee), Harbor Café (breakfast and lunch). Aldo’s is on the other side of the harbor which is great for a long walk. During the summer there is a free water taxi that goes around the harbor. Slow, calm, and great for all ages. For local grocery stores Santa Cruz style we have Shopper’s Corner, New Leaf, and Staff of Life. We also have two Whole Foods and a Trader Joe’s. I am surprised that TripAdvisor didn’t mention Pacific Garden Mall for an activity. Downtown is a really cool way to get exposure to Santa Cruz. Just sit on a bench and watch what goes by. Or course they have movies and restaurants and shopping and treats. We require a two night minimum at the daily rate. There is a $75 cleaning fee. This cleaning fee is waived should you stay a minimum of 3 nights. Our rates are seasonal so watch the calendar for the current rate. Therefore, if the rate is $99 a night and you stay for 3 nights the price will be $297 plus the 10% ($29.70) Airbnb charges for a total of $326.70. If you choose to stay two nights the price would be $198 plus the cleaning fee of $75 for a sub total of $273 plus the Airbnb charge of 10%. Total $300.30. Most guests choose to spend a third night enjoying Santa Cruz for close to the same price. If you choose the 3 plus night option Airbnb well deduct the $75 which lowers the daily cost. The easiest way to deduct the cleaning fee is to send me the inquiry and I will special offer you a reduced price. If you enjoy long beach walks or walks around a harbor where the scenery is forever changing this is the place for you. The low sounds of sea lions in the distance and the long lines of Brown Pelicans flying by are always mesmerizing. If you enjoy great restaurants the world famous Shadowbrook in Capitola consistently gets voted for most romantic. We hope you choose our cottage for your stay.
