There is also a tennis court 50 meters away that is shared with another house nearby, which can be rented under the name Chiantigiani Maggiore. Centered around the 14th century church of San Nicolo and the Palazzo Pretorio, Radda in Chianti is situated on a hill and features shops, restaurants, markets, banks, and a post office. The property is also in an excellent location for visiting Siena and San Gimignano, both of which are about a half hour drive away. Siena is a wonderfully preserved example of the Tuscan Middle Ages, and a treasure trove of gothic palaces, churches, and museums. It's also well known for its exiting bi-annual bareback horse races, the Palio, held once in July and once in August. San Gimignano is one of the most visited towns in Tuscany and is known for its rich history dating back to the Etruscan times. Popular attractions include the famous towers, the 12th century Duomo, the People's Palace, and several museums dedicated to artwork and archeology. There are also plenty of wine tasting tours, art galleries, shops, and delicious restaurants.
