It belonged to the noble Florentine families of Cavalcanti and Filippo Strozzi the Younger. Confiscated by the 1st Duke of Florence, Alessandro de` Medici, in 1599 was sold to the Spedale di Santa Maria Nuova in Florence, which held it for several centuries before returning as a property to the Strozzi family. r nArchipettoli is an ideal base for exploring the cultural heritage of Tuscany. The Uffizi Gallery, one of the most famous galleries in the world, shows numerous important works of art. A walk out of the city centre and up on a hill to the Piazzale Michelangelo is recommendable.
