Description:The barn is located in a hamlet near Sigournais, about 8 km from Chantonnay. It?s a perfect base to cater for all holiday interests or simply to relax. (And it?s Wi-Fi enabled!) You could, for example, spend a day on the beaches of Sable d?Olonne, la Tranche or la Faute or take a boat out in the Marais Poitevin (the green Venice of France). You could go for lunch in la Rochelle and spend the afternoon antique hunting or visiting the sights and attractions. The Lac du Rochereau ? only a few minutes from the barn ? is probably one of the most beautiful spots you have ever seen ? you can swim, have a picnic and admire the views or go fishing for whitefish including carp. Nantes and Poitiers are within easy striking distance by car for superb restaurants and shopping. In the area, there?s horse riding/racing, surfing, water sports, cycling, running, golf (40 minutes from 3 golf courses including the most challenging one in France), walks and even nightclubs for the energetic. Also ballooning, bird watching, forests, canoeing, boating, many places of historic interest, markets, a zoo, villages such as Vouvant (often said to be the most beautiful in France but we think Mouchamps may be even more charming). And of, course there is an abundance of local bars and restaurants to savour the local culture. Sigournais is only 25km from the Puy du Fou, the second most popular tourist attraction in France after the Eiffel Tower. This is one of France?s best kept secrets and is a spectacular day out for all the family. The ground floor has a large open plan area comprising a living area and a fully fitted and fully equipped kitchen, a large shower room with WC, wash-basin and heated towel rail. There is also a separate WC room with wash-basin. The living area includes two settees (one of which converts to a double bed), an armchair, and a wood burning fire as well as central heating. It has a TV for playing videos, a DVD player and a mini hi-fi system for radio, audio-cassettes and CDs. This area also includes an armoire for storing coats and clothes. The kitchen and dining area, includes an built in oak table with six stools. The well equipped kitchen area has extensive fitted cupboards, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a microwave, a large fridge/freezer, an oven, a 4-ring hob and all cutlery, crockery, and other equipment for all day to day needs. There is a fire extinguisher and smoke alarm. There is a double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and a seating area in the bay window. Open tread staircase leading to the mezzanine. On the mezzanine there are twin beds (this was originally the hayloft) - so headroom is low but adequate and quaint. There are large built - in wardrobes with storage area for suitcases. If you have 3 children we can always add another bed. Outside there is a paved patio with built in dining/seating area and views into open fields. A garden shed contains the garden chairs and on the patio there are benches and a BBQ. Normally Saturday is changeover day but do talk to us about different days. We supply you with keys and everything will be prepared ready for your arrival. You may arrive from 4pm and you must leave by 10am to give us time to prepare for the next guests. When you book we require a deposit of 20% of the rental, we will send you a booking confirmation form and a contract for your signature and return at the same time. Description:Our ground floor apartment is fully equipped for your family holiday, or for a quiet relaxing time in the sun, and is air conditioned, providing both cooling and heating. Additional fans and heaters are also available. You can relax around the swimming pool or just sit in the garden. A short 5 minute walk takes you to the Salt Lake, famous for it's therapeutic properties. There is a small shop and bar within 2 minutes walk and 2 large supermarkets within walking distance, one offering a home delivery service. All tastes are catered for with bars and restaurants nearby offering cuisine from all over the world. There are plenty of local amenities all within walking distance including Las Habaneras Shopping Centre, a cinema, indoor 10-pin bowling, banks and a water park (open in summer only). The local bus stops at the end of the street and a 10 minute ride takes you to the centre of Torrevieja. A short car ride takes you to glorious sandy beaches, golf courses and beautiful landscapes. Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with a double bed and travel cot. Bedroom 2 with a single bed plus bunk beds. Lounge with a double sofa bed. Accessibility The apartment is on the ground floor of a two-storey building, and has 5 steps up from the garden to the front door. Internally all rooms are on the same level. Outside The private front garden is paved and planted with Mediterranean plants. There is a covered balcony where you can sit and enjoy a nice bottle of wine. To the rear of the building is an area of landscaped gardens with a large swimming pool and a paddling pool for toddlers, a petanque pit and tables and chairs all set within secure gates. The pool is shared with the other residents but you will often have it all to yourself. Parking is available in front of the property. Notes on prices Charges are per night (see pricing information for minimum number of nights) and can start and finish on any day. 1 night is free for bookings of 14 nights or more. A deposit of 30% is required to confirm your booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival, along with a £100 security deposit which will be returned within 2 weeks of vacating the property. These are Les Fontenelles. Famous for its driving range, this golf course with its many hedgerows provides an excellent succession of water features, maritime pine and oaks over 2 miles. La Domangère. The highest slope in France with a wealth of shots to be played, this is a delightful course that those in search of new challenges will want to experience. (This is supposed to be one of the more difficult golf courses in France). Port Bougenay.On the edge of the sea and bordering an enclosed forest, this golf course overlooks the marina of Port Bourgenay. With hedgerows and pine forest, this course provides a two-in-one experience. Mazieres en Gatine. Set amongst lakes and ancient trees, this course produces surprise after surprise behind each hedgerow. Changeover day for this house is any day BUT Saturday and Sunday. Description:Casa Salamander occupies an elevated position on the edge of a well-maintained and gated residential area on the banks of the River Guadiana, at the southern border between Spain and Portugal. Access is by self-drive car from Faro, or southern Spanish airports, of which Seville is closest. Some homes locally are occupied all year, others, like ours, are holiday homes. Complementing its own spacious outdoor areas is the shared garden with 2 pools and relaxing area. The house is furnished with adults in mind, and to a most comfortable standard. On site, there are walks, rambles, and the Costa Esuri golf club. Bird-watching, fishing and water-based sports are also local, though to get about, you should have access to a car. With a car, you are free to explore the kilometres of wide open countryside around, in this fruit-growing region. Ayamonte, just 5km away, is a vibrant and colourful, working border town and fishing port, with cafes, bars & restaurants. Isla Canela beach is closest. We have made no provision for babies or young children at our house, in view of the layout, furnishings, glass tables etc we consider the house unsuitable on safety grounds, for pre-school aged children. There are residents' 'guidelines', a copy of which can be found at the house, all are common-sense, practical rules and should present no problem to guests. Example: washing only to be put out at ground floor level, no towels, airers or clothes on balconies. Rubbish is recycled where possible, and communal bins are readily available for general refuse, paper, plastics and glass. Wireless internet connection is free to use for our guests. We do not provide a computer nor telephone line for guests' use. No-smoking please, pets not accepted. We are sorry, but in view of its access by steps and being on 3 levels, the house is not suited to wheelchair-users. Outside The house has a private patio garden, front and back, created in 2011, with local plants and trees, tiling and gravel beds. A new gas BBQ (and tools) is in the rear, south-facing, garden. Full dining facilities for 6 on the covered back terrace, and an awning, further table and chairs on the 1st floor front terrace, ideal for breakfast or a shady lunch, and a small table and 2 chairs on other terraces. Full length sun loungers (6) are also provided, all with cushions. Access via the back gate to the communal gardens and pools [not heated] with washroom. Notes on prices Reductions for longer stays...please ask. You may pay in euros, if you prefer. Price on request. Household linen and cleaning, included as above, but additional services/extra cleaning can be arranged, as required. Midweek change: towels 10?/person, bedlinen 15?/bed, extra house clean 50?. There is a nice garden with a small swimming pool, relaxing hammocks, barbeque & paella equipment, football table, two terraces in the garden, one in the sun and one in the shade of the big linden tree. Casa Argentera 1, the penthouse apartment (4 people): has two double bedrooms, one with a private bathroom, a separate bathroom with a bath and a long table with space for nursing babies, a large combined dining room and living room with a fireplace, a kitchen with all modern facilities to provide for your comfort and convenience and with a relaxing corner. From the kitchen there is access to a private outdoor terrace and stairs to the garden. Casa Argentera 2 - the first floor apartment (5 people): has two double bedrooms, one with a private bathroom, a single room, a bathroom, a living room with a fireplace and access to the balcony which has a stunning view of the village and the castle, a kitchen with space for dining and access to the garden. In all the rooms the original tiled floors has been conserved and each room has its own pattern. This floor has acces to a big private terrace with parasol and dining table for 6-8 people and reading corner and amazing view of the village and nearby castle. Casa Argentera 3, the ground floor (4 people): has 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom and a large dining or meeting room with space for 15 persons. This room has a projector and home cinema equipment and is ideal for smaller meetings, celebrations or just gathering over a great meal. It has a masonry stove and an open kitchen with direct access to the garden. One of the bedrooms is oriental inspired and closes with an original wooden sliding door, beautifully carved from Indonesia.
