On entering you can barely see the beautiful finca hiding behind the small forest of almond and walnut trees, there is a large gravelled car park and roundabout with ample space for 5 cars. This leads onto a narrow winding pathway to the house entrance with an open porch and beautiful natural stone well. nThrough a quaint handmade wooden door you enter the large open country kitchen that oozes with character that sets the theme for the rest of the house, with patio doors leading to the fantastic outside pool. Back in the kitchen there is a reclaimed stone butler sink, extensive tiled work surfaces and ample cupboard space, full size fridge and separate full size freezer. To add to the social family area is a centre island with stools for family and friends to sit around and chat while you cook up a delight on the double hob and oven. The open kitchen leads onto the dining area which is in the heart of the house with a large dining table which seats 8 comfortably. Behind the large table is the real log burning fire and above is the open gallery with open railings and water fountain feature and an interior mediteranean style window. In the dining room is also the music system which controls the multi room audio system for inside and outside the house as well as a docking station for your ipod to enjoy your very own special holiday sounds. The cosy lounge is separated from the dining area and kitchen by the two huge original wooden doors. In this room you can relax on two ample sized cream leather sofas to catch up with Sky TV and DVDs for the kids. There are also two patio doors from here leading to the large outside patio and pool area. From the lounge you enter the downstairs kingsize bedroom that exudes character and comfort, with a window that looks out onto the patio and pool area. From the dining area there is the original staircase made from antique tiles leading to the upper interior gallery. The first bedroom you come to is the large master bedroom again full of character, with drapes over the bed, separate sofa and a romantic balcony of grapevines and flowers overlooking the very inviting pool. Opposite the master bedroom is the main bathroom that is unique to say the least, there is a huge luxury Turkish style bath and shower which gives you the massive wow factor. Again in here is multi room audio so you can relax to your music whilst soaking in this luxury bath.Next to the main bathroom are the 2 twin bedrooms which are mirror images of each other, both full of character with exposed stone walls and rustic floor tiles. Each bedroom has its own private door to step out onto the large roof terrace which is completely surrounded by grapevines to give total privacy and seclusion. From here you have breathtaking views stretching across the orange groves in the valley to the stunning surrounding mountains all the way down to the Mediterranean sea.The terrace also has multi room audio system. The sunset from this spot is incredible, a must with a glass of wine. nThe huge flat plot has an abundance of various fruit trees and grapevines perfect for the kids to have an adventure climbing trees and playing on rope swings while you relax in the hammock set between the trees. There are also several seating areas round this shaded side of the house where you can shelter from the midday sun under the trees and grapevines. On the poolside of the garden is an open lawned area with swing and slide, a kids toy log cabin and a mini goal and football playing area to keep the kids entertained. The pool is fenced off from this area to give you peace of mind whilst the children play safely in the garden. On the south facing pool side of the house you can enjoy the Spanish sun for over 320 days of the year, it is a real sun trap for both winter and summer lets, with a huge terrace with 8 sun loungers, a gorgeous comfortable 3 piece sofa and table under a large parasol for those warmer months. As you make your way down the long drive you will see orange trees as far as the eye can see until you reach the houses with itc2b4s simple facades, sun-bleached walls and dark green shutters. On arrival your focus will turn to the immaculate lawns and the inviting pool. Although there are three buildings, making it excellent for large parties, we only rent it for exclusive use, so you will never share pool or grounds with other guests. You are welcome to choose if renting the property for a group of 10, 14 or 18 people. Rented all houses a total of 10 bedrooms (8 doubles/twins and 2 single bedrooms) and 6 baths are at your disposal. nFine materials, typical for the region, have been used for the restauration: the floors were laid with hand-made, square terracotta tiles in warm colors. Polished, silvery-gray lava stone has been used for the terrace. The kitchen cupboards are made of white, enameled, fired slabs of lava. Hand-painted tiles decorate the white ceramic panels on the bathroom and kitchen walls. The terraces have shadow roofs, are equipped with beautiful garden furniture, and there is a stone barbecue. nThe property is reached by a long track running through the organic orange groves and boasts fabulous views in all directions. The pool is 2 m deep. It offers a magnificent view of the grove and the sea. There are plenty of shaded areas for al fresco dining and relaxing whilst enjoying the views of the surrounding countryside and the sea. Guests are welcome to make use of herbs, fruit and vegetables from the estate 's organic kitchen garden. The grove is full of many different fruit trees from peaches and cherries to pears, apricots and figs. Enjoy your breakfast orange juice fresh from the tree - from October to April. nDaily maid service and cook available on request. The discreet and helpful owners usually occupy a fourth property on the estate but the use of the gardens and swimming pool remain exclusive to guests. A motorway running several hundred metres behind the house does not impair the fabulous view, but may be audible if the wind is blowing out to sea. In our opinion, and in those of clients that have stayed here, it does not disturb. The oranges in the grove are harvested, those from the trees near the house are left hanging. The orange harvest takes place between mid April and mid May, and during this time, the nearby country road witnesses a rise in traffic, namely the vehicles transporting the oranges. nAbout the region nSituated near the town of Fiumefreddo about half way between Catania and Taormina, Borgo Aranci is a good base from which to visit Taormina, Catania, Mount Etna and the various fascinating villages on its flanks. nTaormina, the pearl of Sicily, is 14 miles (20 minute drive) away. Taormina is wonderful blend of Greek, Roman, Arab and Baroque architecture. It sits high on a hill, overlooking one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. Views are dramatic and spectacular. The ancient Greek amphitheater puts on plays every night during the summer months. In town, picturesque alleys and half-flights of steps are lined with elegant boutiques and restaurants. With ancient monuments, flowered courtyards, tiny alleys, cafc3a9s, restaurants, shops, and tourists from all over the world, it 's easy to see why Taormina is considered one of Sicily 's most beautiful towns. nThere are also several charming fishing villages and some nice beaches nearby. The drive to the beach is easy and quick. The next spot for bathing is Marina di Cottone (3 km). The lava shingle beach is 7 km long and has crystal clear water. The beaches of Fiumefreddo and Marina di Cottone have received several consecutive Bandiere Blu, attesting to the cleanliness of the water and their general ecological excellence. The beaches are either free of charge or equipped with comfortable lidos open from June to mid September. The Taormina beaches are particularly attractive. nAn 18-hole golf course is about 40 minutes drive away. Further afield, Syracuse, the baroque towns of the Noto valley, the quiet beaches of Vendicari and Capo Passero to the south and Messina to the north are all comfortably reachable for day trips. Excursions to Palermo and Cefalu, to the fabulous mosaics at the Piazza Armerina and the wonderful temple of Agrigento are only some of the many attractive destinations. nYour daily shopping can be done in Fiumefreddo. Fiumefreddo also has a bar, a pizzeria and a cinema (open-air cinema during the summer months). nThis spot is one of the wealthiest and probably best regions in Sicily. The earth is rich - there is no lack of water and the area profits from a unique micro-climate: the high mountain protects it from the cold north winds in winter - daytime temperatures rarely fall below 20c2b0, even in the coolest months (December, January, February). Bathing is possible from April to October and sunbathing even at at Christmas. In the height of summer, the ice and snow-capped peaks provide a cool breeze on the long, hot evenings. n nAdditional amenities include: car park inside the property under orange trees, washing machine (also used by the villa manager), largely enclosed property, air conditioning in all bedrooms (except the ground floor single bedroom of cedro where a fan is available), internet connection provided by a vodafone data card, electronic entrance gate.
