Description:This outstanding 19th century villa is set on five acres of private gardens with a swimming pool, a tennis court, superb lake views and, on request, a private mooring (at additional cost) at the San Siro harbor. The villa faces southeast, halfway up the lake, providing a superb view of the three arms of Lake Como and the beautiful mountains across the lake. The large garden has well-kept lawns, ancient sequoias, cedars, oaks, magnolias and palms. A road runs right along the shore of Lake Como in this area, so the villa is not directly on the lake, but is directly across the road from the lake and across is the private landing. A gate and sweeping lawns lead from the lake road up to the villa. nThe interior of the villa is spacious, with shining floors and a sweeping staircase connecting the floors. Recently restored, Villa Camilla maintains its traditional atmosphere. Each bedroom has its own modern bathroom. It sleeps 16 people, two or eventually four extra beds may be available additionally. Villa Camilla is lovely for large groups and weddings because of its size and romantic setting. It is also great for family reunions and groups of friends. All of the king beds can be separated into twins, making this villa totally flexible for couples or singles in any combination. nVilla Camilla is an ideal location for relaxing or taking day trips around the lake, into the mountains, southern Switzerland, Como or Milan. Bicycle rentals, motorboat rentals, waterskiing and pitch-and-putt are available in Menaggio, 10 minutes away. Windsurfing is available in Menaggio, Colico and Cremia. In Menaggio you can also catch a boat or hydrofoil to take you up and down the lake between Switzerland and Como, or across to Varenna or Bellagio. There are several golf courses in the area, the closest is just 20 minutes away. The property includes private parking for 6 cars behind the house, covered swimming pool, a large panoramic terrace that offers breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The house can accommodate 12-14 people.* nVilla David, with its spacious and brightly decorated interior is the ideal holiday home for large parties. It consists of two floors (each 300 sq. m.). Outside the property (2500 sq. m.) is directly on the shore of the lake, just a few meters from the public beach. Off to the side of the house is the swimming pool with retractable roof. The pool can be closed off for small children and is heated from May to September free of charge. For months outside of this, please see charges below. n*All prices are for 12 guests. For parties larger than this please consult us for the pricing. nVilla David has air conditioning in all of the bedrooms except the two single bedrooms. The rest of the house is not air conditioned. Villa David has 5 double bedrooms, 2 single bedrooms, one twin bedroom, (all bedrooms have air conditioning except the 2 singles) and 5 bathrooms. There is a large living room, and a dining room with a table for 12 people. Please note that there is an additional en suite bedroom that can be used upon request. On the ground floor: A living room with 3 comfortable sofas, TV (satellite), DVD player, and the Internet corner. The wall facing the lake has large French doors opening to the spacious panoramic terrace. (350 sq. m.!!). This floor also features a fully appointed kitchen and a large dining room with a table for 12 people. On this floor there are also 2 half bathrooms. nUpstairs there are 5 double bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. Two of the rooms (the blue and the green bedrooms) each have an adjoining single bedroom, while the light green double bedroom has direct access to a balcony with outside table and chairs. Please note that a pedestrian path runs along the shore between the lake and the property. For this reason, privacy on the terrace could be limited, especially during July and August. Visit the Museum of La Raccolta della Barca Lariana just 50m behind the villa. The museum features over 600 boats that played an important part in the nautical history of the lake from the 19th century to today, it houses the largest private boat collection in the world. Among them, there is a Venetian gondola from the last century which was built on Lake Como, and a Cisco, which is a typical English sailing boat also from the last century. nThe village and its shops are about 600m from the property. The nearest golf course, tennis court, and equestrian club are 10 km away in Menaggio. nThe Lake of Como and in particular the northern zone of the lake is renowned in all of Europe as an excellent sailing area. This is the most-windy area of the lake and the most unspoiled. The Breva, a temperate breeze of the Lake of Como, blows during the afternoons. This breeze guarantees enjoyment for sailing, windsurfing or kite-surfing. nThe area offers numerous alpine destinations and several trekking and mountain bike trails. nThe main factory outlet shops (Armani, Fox town, Ferragamo, Versace, Etro, Gucci, Mantero, Lario) are all within 10 to 30 minutes from Como. nMalpensa/Linate airports are 1.5 hrs, Bergamo Orio al Serio airport 2 hrs, Saint Moritz 2 hrs, Venice 3.5 hrs, and Florence is 4 hrs. nBellagio is known as the 'pearl of the lake ' and is located between the two arms of the lake. Tremezzo hosts the neo-classical Villa Carlotta, one of the most beautiful villas of the lake with its botanic garden and artistic masterpieces. It is located about 100 meters from the Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by the Nature Reserve of Rimigliano, and with a private park of approx. 7 hectares. It is one of very few houses positioned directly by the sea, and is the only one that has a private cabin built on stilts directly on the beach. nVilla San Vincenzo was a horse outpost and a geodesic point starting in the year 600. In 1939 Count Uguccione and Countess Lea Della Gherardesca commissioned the architect Tullio Rossi to transform it into one of their hunting and summer residence. The project undertook two phases: the first restructuring taking place in ’39, and the second in 1957. nThe Villa on the first floor is composed of 8 bedrooms, of which three are queen, two have twin beds and three singles, 6 bathrooms, also a service room / bathroom, and Laundry room.
