Description:Detached guesthouse in the middle of the wine country on 2 acres will be ready to rent on Feb 1st, 2012. Newly remodeled guesthouse. 1bdrm, 1bath with a full kitchen and fenced back yard with large covered patio, (with patio heater!!), for enjoying a BBQ or partaking in some of your new found wine treasures. We also have lots room off street for parking your car, truck, RV or boat. Also, your other gear like bikes or kayaks will be more than safe in your secluded back yard or on your covered patio if it rains. Our location couldn't be any better, the West side of the Sonoma Mountains is where the locals hang out and wine taste. I've never stopped to count them, but I would guess that there are 150-200 wineries within an hours drive of us. We are 10 minutes to Historic Downtown Petaluma, 25 minutes to Historic Downtown Sonoma and the Sonoma Square, 25-35 minutes to the Russian River, Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valley wine regions (the best wine tasting this side of the Golden Gate Bridge), 45 minutes to Bodega Bay, 35 minutes to Napa, and 40 minutes to the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. We're also 35 minutes to Lake Sonoma, (great fishing for Trout or Bass), for a fun day on the lake. Are the Peanuts comic strips your thing? We are 15 minutes from the Charles Schultz Museum with the Snoopy's Home Ice skating rink in Santa Rosa. For an amazing day trip, we are just over 2 hours to Mendocino and the Lost Coast. Our proximity to Bodega Bay means warmer winters and cooler summers. Summer days average in the upper 80's to low 90's, with the nights getting into the low 50's. Winter days run in the upper 50's and low 60's, with nights dipping into the low 30's. It's not unusual to see the local hills with a light dusting of snow for Christmas. We are located out in the country a bit in the town of Penngrove, and with the exception of one neighbor, we are surrounded by rolling hills and horse pasture on all sides. We are a 10 minute drive to anything you might need be it a drug store, restaurants, tavern, movie theater, super market, pack 'n ship, hardware store, or hospital. If quiet is what you are looking for, you will have found it here. Each afternoon you will be treated to a sun setting into the eucalyptus grove across the field, and an evening sky full of stars. Each morning, you can enjoy a big mug of locally roasted, fresh brewed coffee on your patio, or take a short 10 minute walk down to our local coffee house/cafe, JavAmore' for a wonderful breakfast, either way, it's hard to beat a Sonoma morning. The guesthouse is non-smoking. You are welcome to smoke on the patio with the sliding door closed. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook for a family of 4, with granite counter tops and stainless steal appliances. The bedroom has recessed lighting, and a 6ft closet for all of your vacation gear. It has a queen size bed with night stands and a large dresser if you chose to make it an extended stay. The bathroom is truly special, with a restored 120yr old claw-foot tub, and an antique dresser turned bath vanity with a custom stone vanity top. The living room is furnished with a queen size futon/sofa, end tables, coffee table, entertainment center, fire place, flat screen TV with cable, and free Wi Fi. We just finished with the remodel, it is currently rented through the end of March. We are getting lots of inquiries, check the availability calender to see if it's open for the time you are looking for. Rates are per night for 2 guests, there is a 4 person maximum with the 3rd and 4th guest at an additional $15 per person/per night. This comfortable and clean one bedroom, one bath cottage is located down a long driveway that is shared by the main house and is surrounded by forest. Walls of windows in the bedroom and living room let in light and forest views, but the orientation of the house allows for privacy. The living room has a wood burning stove, small kitchen (oven, stove, small refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster), small TV with cable and DVD, wireless internet, a deck with table and radiant floor heating. The second bedroom can sleep one person (adult or child), though it is my office. I have wi-fi for your computer and all the premium channels on cable TV. (HBO, IFC, Turner Classic, Sundance, Comedy) Five lakes, hiking trails, bike trails abound nearby. This is where the mountain bike was invented! Security deposit of $300 required returned if no damage. Cleaning fee: $100 in addition. Absolutely no smoking anywhere on the property, inside or outside. Description:Come and explore this gorgeous part of California: the famous Napa Valley, and vibrant downtown Napa! My home is available only Sept. 29-Oct. 21, 2012. If the calendar says otherwise, it's mistaken! This lovely home is a ten-minute walk from downtown and all that it has to offer: wonderful restaurants, farmer's market, riverfront shopping, live entertainment and parks. It's also convenient to the Oxbow market, the Wine Train, the Napa Valley Opera House, and the Uptown Theater. It's only minutes from highway 29, but secluded and quiet in a complex which includes a community pool. The neighborhood is old-town residential with some of Napa's gorgeous Victorian homes nearby. I've lived here for over 30 years, so will be happy to advise you on places to go and things to do. Napa is generally warm in summer with cool nights, and is surrounded by some of California's most beautiful landscapes. It's truly a great place to be. Calistoga, St. Helena, and all of the valley's treasures--including some of the world's best wineries, spas and restaurants--are just a short drive away along a lovely country highway. Napa is also convenient to the beautiful Sonoma Coast, Pt. Reyes National Seashore , Muir Woods, San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland. The house is about 1.5-2 hours from SFO and 1-1.5 hour from OAK and Sacramento, depending on traffic. The house has newly remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, a tiled atrium garden with fountain, front patio, wireless internet, fireplace, laundry and a garage. The kitchen is fully stocked with condiments, spices, dishes, pots and pans. Linens and towels are provided. It comfortably houses four with two bedrooms and two baths. The couch can also serve as a single bed. I don't have cable, but I do have ROKU for streaming hundreds of videos and past TV shows, and I have an extensive library of dvd's that you are welcome to view. This is a non-smoking household smoking is not permitted anywhere within the home. There are stairs between the living area and the bedrooms, and between the garage and the home itself. Please be aware that this house is NOT child-proofed. Infants and toddlers will need to be carefully monitored.
