Unique Romanic, Gothic and Medieval masterpieces are here distributed everywhere, in the valleys, up the hills, in the narrow streets and alleys of the ancient towns, on the walls of the poor houses, inside the towns: already in the XIX century the American writer Henry James invited the visitors to walk everywhere, slowly and without an end . Thousands among the Basilicas, Abbeys, Hermitages, Convents, Parishes, Country Churches, Temples, Cathedrals, public-historic and noble-private Palaces, Aristocratic residences, Castles, Rocks, Towers, Hypogeum, Wells, Bridges and Mills describe the more authentic face of the Region. A1 S. Francesco (2/4 persons), was built in the lower part of the old barn, few meters away from the ancient millstone. It is the closest apartment to the Tescio river and it is the most suggestive one. A2 S. Giuseppe (2/3 persons), was built in the north portion next to the barn. It is the smallest one but the most central. A3 S. Damiano (2/4 persons), is located at the first level compared to the S. Giuseppe apartment. It is centrally located, it is comfortable and it has a gorgeous view. A4 S. Maria degli Angeli – A5 S. Rita (2/4 persons), have been recently restored. They have been built in the upper part of the old convent, near to what once was the big stable, (were the rooms are today). They are identical, both comfortable, modern and supplied with laundry, safe and ADSL, which are not to find in the other smaller ones. A6 S. Sebastiano (4/6 persons), is a small isolated villa with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a fireplace. It is located in a discrete and private position compared to the rest of the complex. It was once an old country house, today restored, with a pleasant view over the woods, the Tescio river, and the countryside. A7 S. Lorenzo (4/8 persons), is the largest apartment of the entire village and it is located at the ground floor of the medieval old mill. It has an enchanting view over the country and the Tescio river, and has a beautiful portico in front of the entrance with a large living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, laundry facilities and a fireplace. THE ROOMS: Each room, (as each apartment) has a comfortable bathroom with shower or bath tub, sink, bidet and hair dryer, satellite TV, telephone and heating facilities, they all are furnished in wood, (country style), and forged iron, (bed, bathroom accessories, lamps, etc.). A ceramic from Assisi, framed in ancient wood, represent the Saint that gives name to the place. In several rooms a safe and an ADSL connection are available. Each room is supplied with an exclusive external space. Summer conditioning is considered unnecessary given the high building’s thermal inertia and the low night temperatures. SUITE: S. Rita A suite of 42sqm. was built on the 1st floor of the recently renovated convent, adjacent to the S.Maria degli Angeli apartment. It consists of a magnificent bedroom, a closet, bath room and a comfortable sitting room. The finishes and furnitue of solid wood, brick and wrought iron reproduce the style of the Apennine villages of central Italy respecting local and regional traditions. The celings are made from chestnut wood beams and windows with a view of the surrounding green.

Description:Gallinaio village is situated atop a hill in front of the walled city of Monteriggioni in the province of Siena, surrounded by olive trees and a forest of forty acres of ancient oaks. Built in the traditional way, this fifteenth-century farmhouse has been restored and has thus been restored to its original appearance.
