Immaculately restored and offering full-service luxury accommodations for up to 32 guests, the estate includes the chateau, the farm building, conference and business centers, sports facilities, and grounds, maintenance and agricultural areas on the estate are not available for guests' use. The chateau's extensive formal gardens and parks include a stream, an obelisk, reflecting pools, a collection of wild geese and ducks from around the world, and a moat with Japanese carp. The chateau is furnished with beautiful antique furniture and art. However, the heating cooling, telecommunication, electrical, plumbing systems, kitchens, laundry rooms, and bathrooms are all very modern. The Chateau also includes a staff apartment for a couple: the concierge and the office manager. The fully modernized adjacent farm building features a dining room and seven bedrooms which overlook an inner courtyard with cloisters, lawn, flowers, and a fountain. No rocks or sea grass will impede your view of the turquoise Caribbean Sea. nThere are four bedrooms in the villa ground floor, all are air conditioned with Ceiling fans, private closets and full bathrooms with hair dryers. All except one are ocean view. A safe box is available in one of the bedrooms. nThere is an indoor family game room equipped with a pool table, 45 inches flat screen TV, a stereo sound system, wireless internet and a bar counter with a fridge, microwave and a sink. An additional full bathroom is also available. There is a laundry room with a washer, a dryer, iron board and consumables. nFacing the ocean there is a large terrace with vertical awnings to provide shade from the morning sun, equipped with a sofa set and a ping pong table. A ramp provides wheel chair access to the villa exteriors, by means of a pathway. Guests on wheel chair have access to the pool, beach area and to parking situated in the front of the villa. nNine people sleep on separate beds on the ground floor villa. nOn the upper floor there are three bedrooms, all air conditioned, with Ceiling fans, private closets, each with a full bathroom and a hair dryer. All except one are ocean view. The master bedroom has a reading room with a fold-out sofa and a safe box in the walk-in closet. nThe dining room may seat up to 18 guests in two 5 ft diameter dining tables, separated from the kitchen by a counter. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with garbage disposal, dish washer, semi-industrial stove with gas oven, coffee maker, blender, toaster and the basic consumables so you don 't need to rush to the nearest grocery store for shopping when you check-in. The living room has wireless internet, a 45 flat screen TV and a stereo sound system. The Dining, living room and the kitchen are ocean view oriented with a nice sea breeze. Description:Waterfront on Great Cruz Bay, this magnificent new estate holds court within an oasis of stately palm trees, boasting probably what is the largest private pool on St. John. nWithin the sun-kissed world of À La Mer, the Main Villa takes center stage, embraced by the aquamarine pool and the pool cabana, and bordered by a faux white-sand beach set with chaise lounges and a fire pit brazier. The expansive fully air-conditioned two-story Main Villa features seven bedroom/bath suites and a beautifully-proportioned Great Room graced with high arched windows and artistic stonework crafted in the classic St. John style. White slipcovered sink-into sofas and chairs are grouped around the Great Room to accommodate a large party, and a mahogany dining table for 14 is flanked by a stunning model yacht in full sail. Adjoining the Great Room, on the other side of the tiled entry foyer, is the large gourmet kitchen with a Viking range, a center island, lots of countertop space for several cooks, and a convenient pass-through window to the outdoor poolside dining area. The kitchen area also offers a wet bar with a beverage cooler and ice machine, behind that is a powder room looking into a walled garden. nBeyond the spacious kitchen is the blue family room, a cheerful space for lounging with a large flat-screen TV and a table for cards or games. Screened french doors open out to the front of the house from the family room, to À La Mer 's outside front patio which features a bubbling fountain. On the other side of the family room, more french doors lead out to patios and pool. A hallway leads past the large laundry room to two of À La Mer 's king bedroom/bath suites, both of which offer generous ensuite baths and screened french doors opening outside to small covered patios and to the pool beyond. nTwin mahogany staircases ascend from either side of the family room to À La Mer 's upper floor, where five more air-conditioned bedroom/suites overlook the pool and majestic yachts riding at anchor on sparkling Great Cruz Bay. These suites all enjoy central air-conditioning, large ensuite baths tiled in charming designs, and via screened french doors, each has its own balcony. One of these five upstairs suites is À La Mer 's master suite, a larger suite with a king four-poster bed, a private roofed patio with seating, and a spacious bath. The sumptuous master bath features a double vanity, a separate WC with a bidet, and a semi-alfresco double shower clad in glass tile and travertine. The other four suites have romantic four-poster king beds and ensuite baths (the corner suite has a tiled semi-alfresco shower). Two of these suites have a connecting door between them, perfect for parents who wish to be near their children. At the top of one staircase is an alcove with a desk with a printer and a two-twin trundle bed for children under 16 years. nOutside the Main Villa on the Great Cruz Bay side is À La Mer 's shaded poolside terrace, furnished with plush upholstered seating for watching the kids in the pool, reading or napping, and a large round table under a roofed pergola for alfresco meals. The pass-through from the kitchen is incorporated into an adjoining counter lined with bar stools. This expansive outdoor living area, where you 'll spend most of your time, also has two gas grills, one of them built into a charming garden patio, a ping-pong table for family championship competitions, and a deck lined with cushioned chaise lounges for sun worshippers. The pool is absolutely spectacular! It has a four-inch deep shallow shelf, perfect for sun loungers and for small children, a waterfall, and is bordered on the ocean side with a beach, a strip of white sand set with more chaise lounges and a stone fire pit. The pool also features a swim-up bar with underwater bar stools at the pool cabana, a wonderful poolside entertainment pavilion with large-screen cable TV and DVD player, plus a wet bar with icemaker, beverage cooler and dishwasher. An electronic shutter rolls down at a touch of a button to secure the pool cabana when not being used. The pool cabana also has a handy powder room and outside shower. For experienced divers, there is access from the coral-and-sand waterfront into Great Cruz Bay for snorkeling - and you can also visit The Westin Resort 's lovely white sand beach further down the Bay, about a 10-minute walk away. nÀ La Mer 's Cottage is off to the side of the Main Villa, and on its upper level, offers a secluded fully-air-conditioned apartment suite, complete with a full kitchen, a bedroom with two queen beds and bath, a double-twin trundle bed in the living area for children under 16 years old, and a porch outside covered by latticework. The estate 's ninth bedroom is on the ground level, it 's a cozy and simple air-conditioned bedroom and bath with two twin beds. Description:Built in 1840 the property is a fine example of a Tuscan country villa situated with its farm buildings on a plateau atop a ridge of hills at 500 m, with a wide park-like expanse of lawn and garden circled by woods in 15 hectares. The buildings, which have been lovingly restored without altering their original characteristics, provide a high standard of furnishings and fittings and decorations are carefully chosen using warm colours that compliment the locally made furniture. Once the country villa of the owner of vast tracts of land and farms in the Montagnola area, its overall shape seems to imply that the family and its needs grew. When taking the property for a group of 18 both the upper floor of the main villa and the attached stone house with independent entrance are available. nOne part of the accommodation is located on the first floor reached via a staircase up to a splendid furnished open loggia facing south whose wide arched windows allow a view of the lawn and pool area. Off the loggia one door leads into a country kitchen with marble-topped table. A hallway off the kitchen leads to a double and a twin/double bedroom, each with an ensuite shower room. From the loggia another door leads to a very large living/dining room which has sofas in front of a Tuscan fireplace, a table for 10 and a corner. From the living room, a corridor leads to three additional bedrooms, each with its own shower room. nThe stone house to the right of the villa is entered through a shady terrace leading to a large, comfortably furnished living room with a beautiful brick vaulted ceiling. On the same floor is a country kitchen with a fireplace, a dining room with a table for 10 and a shower room. Close to hand is Pievescola which annually celebrates the porcini mushrooms so plentiful in the surrounding woods, and in medieval walled cities there is the crystal of Colle Val d'Elsa, the towers of San Gimignano, the protected cloister of Torri and many other marvels to discover.
