Description:Our condominium is located on the top or third floor and is one of the penthouse units. We purchased this condominium specifically because this elevation offers views of the Pacific which are unsurpassed and the sunsets which become amazing. Since you are living on the top floor, you have the distinct advantage in seeing bird and water life which you might not see in the lower units. We purchased this unit because it was not directly in front of the pool and therefore there is no pool noise or people who might have occasion to look into your condo. Parking lot and air conditioner noise in the junior suite bedrooms will not be a problem. Although penthouse condominiums are the most expensive to buy, they remain the most desirable and sought-after.

Description:Casa-Banda: Casa-Banda is set on top of the hill above Playa Pelada, one of the Nosara beaches, in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. For complete privacy, the complex is enclosed by walls and fences with locked gates. The Casa-Banda complex consists of six apartments which can be rented in any combination, either individually or together for a group. In total, we have room for 16 people. To ensure a peaceful place for all, guests must be 18 or older and in the company of parents until age 25. Outdoors, the six apartments share the large kidney shaped pool, (the largest privately owned in the area), the rancho (pool house) with plenty of seating and room for lounging, the charcoal BBQ, and the very lush and private garden. The parking area and the laundry room are also shared by the six units of Casa-Banda. We grow our own papayas, bananas and plantains, and when the trees and bushes are old enough to bear fruit, we will also have limes, oranges, mangoes, and avocado. Please ask the gardener to let you know when there is ripe fruit for you to enjoy. It is usually placed in the laundry room to keep the animals from enjoying it first. You can walk to the beach or to the mouth of Rio Nosara in only 10-15 minutes for swimming, fishing and shell collecting. (Coming back takes a bit longer, because some of it is up-hill.) You can walk to Playa Pelada and Playa Guiones year round, and in the dry season it is possible to walk across Rio Nosara at the river mouth to Playa Nosara. Also within walking distance: LaGarta Lodge, La Luna Restaurant, Olga’s Bar & Restaurant, Pancho’s Market and Taverna, Monkey Quad Rentals, Leroy’s River Tours and Beate’s Horseback Riding Tours, and the fish market at Playa Pelada. Trucks with fruits/vegetables/eggs, frozen food, and, in high season, baked goods come through the area each week. A car or ATV will allow for exploring and more shopping in the village of Nosara, Guiones and beyond, but are not necessary for daily living. Very affordable taxi service is also available in Nosara. Wild life abounds, and it is not uncommon to be able to enjoy the howler monkeys during the day in the trees close by. In the early morning, you will definitely know they are there. Each apartment has pool towels available for your use, but please bring your own towels for the beach. Pets are not allowed anywhere on the property, and we do ask that you do not smoke inside any of the apartments. These are the six different units of Casa-Banda and their individual rental rates. Banda : Inside area: 105 m2 / 1130 ft2. Covered Outside area: 35 m2 / 373 ft2. Banda is located on the top floor, where the spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean are visible from everywhere. All rooms have French doors to the balcony, and with screened windows on all sides and many fans, there is always a cooling breeze. If needed, whole house type air conditioning is also available in this apartment at an additional cost. This is our private apartment, built with a lot of care and attention to detail to get it just right. It is equipped with the many little extras that make life very comfortable. Whether you are a family of four or two couples, the place offers privacy for everyone with the bedrooms and full private baths located on each side of the apartment, separated by the great room with sitting area and the kitchen. The master bedroom has a king size bed with orthopedic mattress and the second bedroom has a queen size bed, also with an orthopedic mattress. Both beds come with ocean view! The kitchen is fully equipped, and meals can be enjoyed either at the bar or on the balcony. The apartment has a telephone (for local calls, but all of Costa Rica is “local”) and DSL WiFi internet service for your lap top. We have no TV, but there is a radio with tape deck and tapes plus CD-player/MP3 and a selection of CD’s. Bring an audio cable and you can hook up your own music player to the stereo system.
