Description:This beautiful apartment is located in Petržalka and consists of two bedrooms, living room and kitchen with balcony. We also offer free wifi (70Mbps: with your friends in HD! Computer not included:), map of Bratislava's real attractions (made by locals for locals -- not usual free tourist map, see mpba.sk - we give out the physical version to our guests). We have oven (real and microwave), dishwasher, fridge and cooking equipment. We offer washing machine (no drier) for your laundry (public laundry services are not so common in Slovakia). The air conditioning is only in the living room. We don't have a TV in apartment, but we know you would not watch it either. What about walking along Danube or checking out some of the more interesting places Bratislava has to offer? It is not a traditional tourist city. There's no single beautiful spot, marked with photo oportunity in the usual map with ads, it needs some time to explore. And for that, put down the Lonely Planet and see it with your own eyes. We don't force you to see it our way however, but we would love to help you if you want. The flat is close to public transport (10 min to city center), lakes Malý Dráždiak & Veľký Dráždiak, 45 minutes drive to Schwechat (Vienna) airport. Free parking is available near the flat on the street and is free of charge. Even if the usual parking spots is free, we have a few safe bets very close to the apartment, we are glad to help you park there.

Conveniently located on the 2nd floor of a grand historical building it consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets, large living room, separate study, and huge kitchen with balcony. The luxury and scale of the Maya Apartment is breathtaking but once you are settled in it will feel more like a home from home. The apartment is centrally located on Kollarovo Square in an upmarket part of Bratislava Old Town only 5 minutes walk to the quiet pedestrian area of the Old Town Main Square and just 50 meters from The Presiden...tial Palace. The apartment itself is spacious and beautifully decorated throughout having been lovingly refurbished to a superior standard in 2010, carefully restoring many of the original features including 3.6 metre ceilings throughout, the original solid wooden doors, and wooden parquet flooring. The apartment sleeps up to 6 persons with the three spacious bedrooms all having access from the main central hall. The main bedroom has a king size double bed with en-suite bathroom and toilet. The second and third bedrooms have 2 single beds in each. The main bathroom and toilet have access again directly from hall. The apartment also features a modern cutting edge kitchen with large dining table and many modern fixtures, fittings, and appliances that you would expect from such an exclusive apartment. The appliances include induction hob, built in electric oven / microwave, large fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, and also a built-in coffee percolator. The living room is very spacious with two 3 seater sofas, dining table with 4 chairs, and cable TV. There is also a separate study room with computer and broadband internet access / wireless router with unlimited internet, all free of charge. The newly installed modern gas central heating system and double glazed windows are designed to make the flat energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The apartment is easily accessible by public transport, bus / trolley bus stop is in front of the house. On street parking is available around the house and there is a public covered car park only 150 meters away. The Maya Apartment makes a wonderful, large, luxurious venue for a family holiday or special occasion. It is the perfect base for exploring Bratislava and nearby Vienna, so much so that you may never want to leave!

Description:ABOUT THE FLAT This place is my little slice of heaven. It's quite, it's clean, it's bright and full of air. Every time I am away, I am so excited to return. So, I thought I might share this little sanctuary with you. I know you'll love it as much as I do... everyone does! ABOUT ME I live in my sweet little place, but I only have to be in Bratislava for a couple days each week. This leaves me a lot of time to travel and I take full advantage of this seeing as the rest of the work I do is from home... home can be anywhere... so this is why I've chosen to rent my flat out. FLAT LAYOUT It is a small, but not too small (will comfortably fit a couple and even a child in addition) one bedroom flat. There is a kitchen and living room combined, two separate balconies (one enclosed off the living room and one open off the bedroom), a bathroom with a shower, washing machine, a fully equipped and brilliant kitchen, a bedroom with a large double bed and storage. There is a small desk/work area set up and an entranceway as well. There is parking available. It's a wonderful area and you'll really get a sense of Slovak people here for sure. BEDROOM You will have fresh linens on the bed. It's cosy and clean and you can relax in here. BATHROOM I must boast that I have lived all over the world and this is, by far, the best shower I have ever had. The water is always hot and the water pressure is absolutely brilliant. The bathroom is small and sweet and there is a washer for you to use. A hairdryer, towels and washcloths are provided. LIVING SPACE & AMENITIES There is a TV in the flat, but I don't use it. However, it's on a rolling stand and you can roll it out and simply plug it in. I can show you this. There is free wifi and it's very very fast. I will give you the code prior to arriving. There is a very comfy couch to sit and enjoy some tea and a book or listen to some music. I have a stereo which is very very good. It has a long cord so you can hook it up to your computer and play music or a movie. You will have a key to the flat and the front door and can come and go, of course, as you please. The flat itself is so quiet and this is unusual for this city. You can't hear a thing. Everyone who lives around me is quite peaceful as well, but also I am a musician and I'm quite free to make a little noise if I wish. It's a perfect place for a restful holiday. KITCHEN Do you like to cook? You're in luck... this a brilliant kitchen and I've done a fantastic job (if I may say so myself) of stocking it full. It has everything you could possibly need. There is plenty of space to move around and cook and even two people fit comfortably in it. You can help yourself to my tea drawer while you are here and also to my spices. I mean, I wouldn't want your food to taste bland. There is a large fridge for you to store things in. Currently, I keep a vegetarian household and would prefer it to stay that way, however, if you are coming for a long-term stay or really wish to cook and bring meat into the home, please just talk to me about it. We can work something out for sure. FOOD / RESTAURANTS / FOOD SHOPPING Downstairs, at the base of my building, there is a Terno supermarket and across the street there is a Lidl. 2 bus stops or 10 mintues walk is a Billa and 3 bus stops or 20 mintutes is a 24-hour Tesco hypermarket. You will have all the food you need. In the summer there are sweet little veggie stands around. At the base of my flat is also one of the best restaurants in Bratislava. They have Italian, Mexian and traditional Slovak food. If you want to try the best Halušky there is in the city, go here. You can order it without bacon (Bez Slaniny) and they also have pizza, risotto and other pasta dishes which are veggie. All the food for meat eaters and veggies here is very good. at my flat There is also a cafe and more bars around... some with wifi as well. I have a long long list of restaurants and cafes that I've been making for over 1 year now. These are places that I love to go to in Bratislava and I will share these with you before you come so you can enjoy them too! TRANSPORTATION INTO TOWN There are 2 convenient bus stops outside my flat which lead with direct buses right into town. I have maps that I will give you and also I will provide you with instructions to take the buses in. One bus takes 14 minutes and the other 19 and they go to different ends of the center so you can decide which one to take. It's quick bus ride and I can help explain to you about tickets and how everything works. I'm quite used to having guests and have no problem doing this for you! Once 12 midnight hits, there are buses that run every hour so you can stay out as late as you wish. There is one direct bus from the train station. The train station is at one end stop and I am at the other. It takes 20 minutes. From the main bus station there is an easy two bus combination and it takes about 30 minutes. SITES TO SEE There are many things to see in Bratislava. People always say that the old town is small and while, technically, it is, that doesn't mean that you can't see a lot of it if you give the effort! Bratislava Castle is right in town and Devin Castle is not far away. I can advise you re walks along the danube, boat rides, canoe and kayak trips and more. There are plenty of things to do and see! VIENNA & OTHER CITIES Vienna is a quick train ride away (55 min) from very close to my house. It will cost you €14 and that includes a full transport pass IN Vienna when you get there. It's a wonderful day trip to take. You can easily take the train or bus to other cities in Slovakia. There are some really sweet ones nearby and I would be happy to give you some advice for these! HIKING There is hiking around for you outdoor enthusiasts. I have trekking poles you can borrow and a map of the area which shows the trails. SWIMMING IN THE LAKES / BIKING / IN-LINE SKATING I live just in front of a beautiful bike trail that leads actually directly to Austrian and Hungarian border towns which are only 20 minutes away by bike. Along the way there are lakes to swim in in the summer, beautiful walks to take and sights to enjoy. There is bike rental in Bratislava for €7 per day. There are nice walks to take right around my flat and there is even a lake just 6 minutes walk away. PARKING There is open parking around my flat. You will easily be able to find a space. Earlier in the day will give you a better selection, but even late at night you'll be able to find something. KNOWN AVAILABILITY (if you do not see something listed, please request anyway!) There are a couple times, listed below, when I know I will be away for a lengthy period of time, but there are many times when I will leave for many days in a row... I won't always list them here.
