Beautifully and comfortably furnished, with a lovely small terraced Mexican garden full of terracotta pots, cactuses and flowers, it is a great place to rest and relax after a busy day exploring the area. r n r nSituated at the foot of one of the beautiful pine mountains surrounding San Cristobal, Casa Adobe is a truly special property, combining stunning contemporary Mexican architecture with traditional materials of the area (adobe, stone, wood and brick) and showcasing the incredible craftsmanship of its local builders. With its thick adobe walls, handcrafted wood burning fireplaces, elaborate stonework and high beamed ceilings and wooden floors, it provides a truly unique vacation experience. r n r nThis newly-built, handcrafted house has all the comforts and conveniences of a new home. It has been very attractively furnished throughout (everything is new) with lots of custom-designed pieces, and there are many decorative details to enjoy, such as the beautiful ironwork from local artisans and colorful handwoven textiles from the Mayan villages surrounding San Cristobal. r n r nThere is a full kitchen with granite counter tops, brand new appliances (full-size fridge, gas range/oven, microwave) and all the extras, such as coffee maker, orange juicer, blender and toaster - and lots of handpainted dishes, glasses, and pots and pans! The kitchen leads out through French doors onto a completely private garden terrace with lovely mountain views, perfect for relaxed outdoor eating. r n r nThe house has two wood-burning fireplaces to take the chill off on winter evenings, one in the living room and the other in the upstairs master bedroom, which is an impressive room with a king-size bed, large walk-in closet and sunny en-suite bathroom with skylights. It also has a lovely balcony, which is perfect for reading a book or enjoying your morning coffee! r n r nOn the ground level the living room is a great place to relax and listen to music, play games or watch TV. The room also doubles as a second bedroom, with a double-size pull-out sofa bed and guest bathroom. r n r nUpon your arrival in the casa, fresh flowers await you and you will find all the ingredients you need for a Continental breakfast for your first morning (including freshly-ground coffee from the highlands of Chiapas). Your privacy is assured during your stay, but the owners live in the house next door to assist you in any way they can. r n r nLOCATION: Casa Adobe is located in a quiet, safe and leafy residential area approximately 4 km / 8 minute drive (or cab ride) to the central plaza (zocalo) of San Cristobal. It's an easy drive that takes you past a large supermarket (making it very convenient to buy groceries). There are also two traditional open air fruit and vegetable markets within a few minutes driving distance from the house. We love the peace and quiet of the area and to be surrounded by trees and birds, yet the house is also in close proximity to the center of San Cristobal with its many shops, restaurants, entertainment and nightlife. r n r nIf you don't have a car, radio taxis can be called to pick you up from the house, or colectivo buses and taxis (both are cheap and plentiful) can be found an approx 5 minute or so walk from the house (taxi to center costs around USD $2.50). r n r nRENTAL INCLUDES: utilities, broadband internet service (for your laptop), use of local celular phone, flat-screen television, SKY TV with many English language stations, DVD, CD player/stereo system, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, firewood for chimneys, bottled water delivered. r n r nADDITIONAL SERVICES: r n r nMaid service included once a week (additional maid service available at extra cost). r n r nProperty owners will be available during your stay to answer any questions you may have about Casa Adobe or San Cristobal in general. Description:Our home, Hacienda del Mar, was renovated in 2005 and we have added two deluxe casitas for your vacation enjoyment. We are located on the Arroyo Grande River in the Zona Residencia section of Guayabitos. It is a five minute walk to the incredible beach of Jaltemba Bay and right next to the Puente de Vida walking bridge that connects to our neighbors in La Penita. n nEach casita is two stories tall with terraces for viewing our beautiful sunrises over the Sierra Madre Mountains. Enjoy the palapa on the main house for the famous sunsets over Jaltemba Bay. The gardens are magnificent and peaceful. The pool is available to all our guests. Maid service is included twice a week. The entire front wall is windows. n nThere is a full kitchen with utensils, daily maid service and fresh drinking water. n nWe now offer two pools, a new pool has just been added in the garden area.There is a small plunge pool located on the beach to cool off .The ocean side tanning area is pure sand maintained by a retaining wall at water's edge. There are thatched shade umbrellas (palaps) and chaise lounges on the sand making a very nice tanning area. Some of the best snorkeling is right off the condos on the north end of the bay. n nNearby another excellent snorkeling opportunity awaits in Yal ku lagoon which is just a 5 minute walk away. Before you get to Yal ku you will pass Que Onda Italian restaurant serving fresh pasta, Italian specialties, fine wines and yummy deserts. A convenience store is by the parking lot in front of the condos for last minute items. Farther south down the north Akumal road are more restaurants, convenience stores, La Buena Vida bar/restaurant and their dive shop, and finally the heart of Akumal at Akumal Bay. There you will find grocery stores, gift shops, Lol ha beach bar and restaurant, two dive shops, and of course, famous Akumal main beach. Both Akumal main beach and Half Moon Bay are famous for marine turtles who can usually be seen on any given snorkeling session. n nThe beautiful Tulum Ruins are only 20 minutes drive, there are several local cenotes 5 minutes away. n n

Or just stay in relax and enjoy the in house menu using :various meat and some of my favourite vegetarian, dishes( reservations necessary ) using as much local organic seasonal vegetables,fruit available. n Be sure to bring your fishing rod and lure to enjoy some surf casting no promises on catching fish however I've seen some great catches out front, Take a few long walks to the famous San Pedrito Surf Point just a five minute stroll up the beach where you might see the majestic birds like : the Ibis, Sand Pipers and other amazing birds that take in the natural estuary .Right here on my property I have a beautiful spot for camping if some one wants to be a bit more outdoors complete with a two man tent, mattress , bedding and flashlights and an outdoor shower that is a bit rustic but a delight to use . n
