Description:Welcome to Finnish countryside! The cottage is in Oravi, 45 kilometers from Savonlinna in eastern part of Finland. Cottage is by the famously beautiful Lake Saimaa in idyllic countryside. The lake is only 15 metres from the cottage terrace! The cottage has electricity but no running water. It is decorated with taste and as a feeling of a traditional Finnish cottage with is wooden design and closeness of the forest and lake. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with the fridge, oven, microwave and all the pots, pans and cutlery you need to cook. It has a living room, dining area and a fireplace. The cottage also has a heater/cooler. There is one double bed and a sofa, where two kids or one adult can sleep. The cottage is about 50m2 big. It has a beautiful terrace with class windows to enjoy your breakfast or sit in the evening. In the beautiful yard there are tables and chairs for you to sit in or have dinner. There are some flowers and the yard is big enough for the children to play. In the yard there is also a extra building that has two beds. You also can use the grill and make your dinner outside. There is a separate sauna building, where you can enjoy the real finnish experience of bathing! Sauna is heated by wood as they traditionally have been in Finland. After the sauna you can hop for a swim in the lake and enjoy the midnight sun and the sounds of nature at the terrace of the sauna. There is no shower in the sauna, but the water is pumped from the lake so you don't have to carry the water inside to wash up. The beach has a huge platform to sit and enjoy the great views of Saimaa. It is easy to go for a swim just by stairs from the platform. The beach is not very suitable for really small children to swim since the water is deep. The toilet is a separate small toilet building. The toilet is traditional but modern bio/compost toilet, where there is no water to flush. You just throw some moud designed for bio toilet use to the toilet after you are done. The toilet is a compost: every year it is emptied and the result is clean compost mold for the garden :) The small town of Oravi is about 3 kilometers from the cottage. There is one small supermarket and a restaurant. From Oravi town you can hire a canoe, a boat or make trips to famous and extraordinary beautiful nature park of Linnansaari. In the only restaurant of Oravi, there are some live music evenings and karaoke nights during the summer. From the cottage you can just go straigt to forest to pick berries, mushroom or just go hiking and enjoying the nature. There is a small boat you can use to row in the lake. You can fish in the lake if you wish. You can spot birds, small animals and bats in the evening. And moskitos :) If you are really lucky, you can spot the trace of very endangered species of Finnish lake seal, which lives in this area of Lake Saimaa! There are only 150 of the lake seals left in the whole world. The culture life and restaurants and shops of Savonlinna are only 45 minutes drive away. Savonlinna is 350 km from Helsinki, 160km from Kuopio, 140km form Joensuu and 160 km from Lappeenranta. This place is a great place to enjoy the peaceful Finnish countryside. Loft is situated in Kruununhaka which is one of the oldest areas in Helsinki. You can find lovely small interior design boutiques, different kind of restaurants and cafeterias in the area. Nearest bakery is located opposite of the building, several grocery stores and even a Michelin star restaurant for only few minutes walk! If you are looking for beautiful sights they are nearby as well: Seashore and Pohjoisranta marina for small boats in two minutes, main touristic attractions like Presidential Palace or Helsinki Cathedral for five minutes and the center of Helsinki in only 10 minutes from the loft. Helsinki's excellent public transportation system can also be found just around the corner (bus/tram/metro/ferry). BUILDING: Loft is situated in a detached building on a back yard of a block of flats (built in 1936). Below the loft there are two garages and above you can find a big roof terrace/drying place for the laundry. Loft has its own entrance and doorway. Loft has been build in 2002 – latest renovation has been done in 2012. Housing cooperative is very well maintained. Living in the loft is very quiet because there aren't any neighbors living in the same building. Description:46 sq meters cozy apartment in 1911 building in the old and historical Kruununhaka neighborhood right in the city centre and close to all the main attractions. The apt has high ceilings and a unique atmosphere of an old building. The Helsinki Central Railway station, tram/bus stops, ferry terminals for ferries going to Stockholm, Tallinn and Suomenlinna fortress are within walking distance from the apt. Trams 1A/B and 7A/B run nearby, tram stop is about 100 meters from the apartment. The Kaisaniemi metro station and the main building of Helsinki University are within 400 meters from the apartment. Also within walking distance is some of the most interesting historical buildings and a market square that the city has to offer. The apartment is located in the Kruununhaka district, and it is a great base while exploring Helsinki by foot. Kruununhaka is one of the oldest districts in Helsinki, so it is full of beautiful old buildings and atmosphere with modern twist. Kruununhaka has a number of lively small shops, coffee shops and restaurants as well as an excellent organic/health food store. There are several interesting dining options close to the apt like traditional Russian restaurant, modern Finnish cuisine (Kuurna), a Michelin-star restaurant (Luomo) and German as well as Thai restaurant. Besides organic food store there are 2 normal crocery stores nearby as well as a bakery and city's only Korean restaurant. There is even one Itaian restaurant in the same building complex as the apt. The apartment is fully furnished and located at street level in quiet residential area. The apartment has a large bedroom with a double futon (200x140cm) and a futon sofa that can accommodate 2 more people. In additionally, the bedroom has a big bookshelf and 2 chairs. There is possibility to sleep in a light bed in kitchen as well. Please tell beforehand if you need it so we can provide it. The kitchen has a big dining table with 4 chairs, a commode and a long soft seat by the window. Clean sheets and towels are always provided for 2 guests. Description:This apartment, bult in 1930's, is just renovated and is ready to take guests. The location of this place is just great for tourists since it is a 15 min walking distance from the city center (some say my place is in the center), 5 min from the ocean, 2 min from the public transportations (3B tram, 16 bus line, 1A tram, 14/14B bus). It is very easy to come to my apartment from the main train or bus center. It is surrounded by little coffee shops and lots of comfy bars still being safe and quiet neighbourhood. You can for example eat breakfast at the famous and awarded German cafeteria or eat sushi in the near Japanese restaurant. If you have a Mac with AMD processor then the internet won't work but for those people I recommend to use the restaurant's internet that is located just near me. I am easy going and get along with everybody :) Apartment is 25 m2. There is a comfy twin bed (160cm) and a comfy sofa for guests to sleep in. A mattress is also available to be put on the floor.
