Celebrity Chef, Kurt (personal chef to Ronald Reagan)is available to cook for private dinners. Massage therapist also available. Vacation renters are not allowed to have parties with several people. The cost for a party is $2500.00 for a five hour event. Scenes from the Lifetime Movie, 'William & Kate' were shot here. 'The Fire Pit, Outside Fireplace and Gazebo Bar' The outside fireplace is on a private patio off the breakfast room. It's like having anther living room outside With plush out door couches and coffee table. This area also has a BBQ. There is another BBQ on the 3rd level of the deck next to the fire pit. Description:Bear Valley is a wonderful mountain resort in the High Sierras between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. The village is located on the all weather highway 4, known as the Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway. The area offers a variety of activities from snowshoeing, skiing, and snowmobiling in the winter, to hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and fishing in the summer. We are surrounded by the Carson Iceberg and Mokelumne Wilderness areas which are known as the Alps of California. We have our own lake in Bear Valley and there are several other granite lined lakes within a few driving miles of the village. Our beautiful cedar log cabin has a small deck in front and a large deck in the rear where you can entertain, cook on the bar-b-que, or have a relaxing breakfast while you watch the wildflowers grow in the meadow. The large living-room has a wood burning stove, flat-screen HDTV with satalite dish, DVD & CD players, jukebox loaded with lots of music, and lots of books to read. The dining room seats 10 with table extensions. The moden kitchen has all large and small appliances including dishwasher and trash compactor. The guest room has queen bed, separate bath, and small wood stove. Master bedroom has queen bed, 3rd bedroom has two bunk beds and twin trundle bed (that makes into a king), and 4th bedroom has a double futon. The cabin can be heated with the forced air central heater or the wood burning stoves. The surrounding area is a mecca for mountain biking, four-wheeling, hiking, swimming, and fly fishing. The air is clear and the sky a bright blue at 7000 feet. The small village of Bear Valley has restaurants, bike, kayak, ski, & snowmobile rentals, and a small general store. Lake Alpine Lodge, three miles up the road has outdoor dining on the deck, a store, and kayak, canoe, and boat rentals on Lake Alpine. In the winter you can take the bus two miles up to Bear Valley Ski Resort and ski right back to the cabin at the end of the day. Snowmobile rentals take you on the groomed road into the beautiful back country. The second largest (in California) cross country ski park is just a walk across highway 4 from the village.
