Description:Carriage house with shared courtyard close to the streetcar and a variety of restaurants and bars. All that one needs is within a few blocks walking distance. Loft type space with queen platform bed, cork floors up, heated slate tile down, large bathroom and shower to match. Designed and built by my friends and I in this mostly owner occupied neighborhood of single and multi units. The patio has Shubunkin (fish) to stare at. Coffee station (usually stocked with Philz), grills, gas and charcoal. Chairs galore, a place for fire, sun in the middle of the day. Inside satellite hdtv. Fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Wide single cushion couch makes an excellent bed for a close 3rd person. This is a quiet retreat from the festivities (except endymion saturday). I will be available for any questions or suggestions during your visit. I live at the property. The streetcar is two blocks away for a twenty minute ride to the French Quarter, or take it to the museum/sculpture garden at City Park, or the cemeteries. Two blocks from Endymion route, 2 miles to jazzfest.

Description:This is a spacious apartment with an open floor plan surrounded by trees and friendly neighbors in a highly desirable neighborhood. The guest room has a very comfortable pull out double bed for one or two people. (There is one bathroom to share. *See notes below.) It is in a great location in the Faubourg-St. John (aka Bayou-St. John) section of Mid-City, just 5-7 minutes from the French Quarter and the Marigny, 3 minutes from City Park, the museum, the bayou, and an easy walk to the Jazz Fest a few blocks away at the Fairgrounds. There is a bus stop a five minute walk from the house, and the street car is one mile away (you can take the bus to get to it.) This is a great little neighborhood with numerous restaurants (Liuzza's, Santa Fe, Lola's, Cafe Degas, and Nona Mia's), Swirl Wine Bar, the best coffee house in town (Fairgrinds), a book store, and a local neighborhood park nearby. There are also two corner grocery stores nearby (Conseco's and Terranova). These venues are about 4 blocks from the house. My end of the street is very quiet. There is a washer if you use the couch, a total of 5 can sleep comfortably.

Description:Ours is a three-story condo in the Faubourg Marigny, voted one of the ten best neighborhoods in America. There are 3 coffee shops within a two-block area Frenchmen St. (the locals' Bourbon) with clubs and restaurants is a ten-minute walk and the French Quarter five minutes further. Jazz Fest is a straight shot down Esplanade Avenue and an hour's walk if you don't want to deal with car or cab. Our condo is over a hundred-years-old with 12-foot ceilings, balcony, hardwood floors, stone fireplaces and brick walls but was totally remodeled after Katrina. From the double-doored (total security) entry, the stairs lead to the main floor, consisting of a large living room with balcony, dining room which seats 6, kitchen, library with Pottery Barn queen sleeper sofa, and 1 1/2 baths. The huge Master Bedroom and bath are on the third floor with king-size brass bed, skylights, and a window with view of the city skyline. Washer/dryer and off-street parking.

Description:Maison Marais 2 is a large, 2-bedroom home, 1/2 of an entire house. It's has a mix of modern and antique furniture and is in a trendy neighborhood walking distance to Frenchmen Street (10-15 min) and the French Quarter (another 5-10 min). It is a good fit for two individuals or two couples. The sofa converts to an extra large twin bed for an additional person for a total of 3 or 5 people. Same block as great neighborhood bar and art gallery, in the St. Claude Arts District (art openings every 2nd Sat of each month), just across St. Claude from the new Healing Arts Center and the Marigny Theatre. This area is home to many musicians, artists and film industry folks. Close to many coffee shops and bars, nearby restaurants and music clubs. Just 4-5 blocks from Mimis in the Marigny (voted best bar in New Orleans). Bike rentals nearby. Easy street parking. Bus line is 1/2 block away. House features furnished living room, 2 bedrooms (double bed), bathroom, and kitchen (completed in November 2011). Clean. Nice linens, towels and toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion) provided. Note that there is an addition in the back of this rental, adjacent to the kitchen, which is not part of the rental. The owner has access to this addition through a separate door and may enter as needed. Upmost respect for guests' privacy will be given if entering during one's stay.
