Description:Three min tour: I live in a renovated home built in the 1920s. With 11-foot ceilings, this 1380 sq ft home has original wooden floors w/ updated Brazilian cherry hardwood floors in the bedrooms. Granite counter tops (kitchen) and an open floor plan, this is a very comfortable home feel. Also, I have a second floor deck that is probably the only one in the area. Note, I do live here but I can vacate the premises as need be. However, I only have one bed - despite having 3 bedrooms. I will accommodate and provide additional bedding if need be. Thanks. P.s. References are encouraged and I am less than a 10minute bike ride to City Park and the Fairgrounds, perfect for those looking to attend the Jazz Fest. Pricing is a flat fee based on the Jazz Fest only.

Description:You and some friends hoping for a nice pad to serve as homebase for your Jazz Fest adventures? We have rented our house for many years during JF and just had someone bail on us today—the day the rental was to begin. We have significantly lowered our price for a first weekend JF rental—maybe this can work out for all of us? Our place is on a quiet residential street in Mid-City (200 block of S. Clark), a walkable 2 miles up beautiful Bayou St. John to get to the Fairgrounds (where Jazz Fest is). The Canal streetcar line is also a block from the house, and shoots you to downtown/French Quarter/Superdome in about 15 minutes. If you’ve never stayed in Mid-City, you’re in for a treat. Our neighborhood oozes with the best of New Orleans and is full of great local bars and restaurants, including Chickie Wah Wah (smoke-free, intimate cabaret seating music club w tasty food), Mandina’s (Creole Italian since 1932), Finn McCools (voted Best Neighborhood Bar in New Orleans), Parkway Tavern (surf n turn poboy anyone?), and the Ruby Slipper (locally sourced brunch n coffee). We put together an insider’s eating, walking and music guide for our renters, so you can hit the neighborhood in style. In October 2009, our 1,600 square foot home was awarded the Preservation Home of the Month by the Preservation Resource Center. It features: --surround sound speakers and a mirrored dance/yoga studio --fabulous artwork from Latin America and the Caribbean, peppered with Leo’s stunning photography and works by local friends --free wi-fi --12 foot ceilings --restored original hardwood floors --washer/dryer --a cozy front yard/porch and an even cozier backyard w a huge deck, hammocks, grill, pond, organic garden, outdoor bar, and (to be finished by 7/2012) small cold pool. There is central ac/heat as well as overhead ceiling fans in each room. bikes We love our house and think you’ll love it too. Let us know how many of you need accommodations--the master bedroom (w queen bed) is significantly larger than the other two rooms with private access to one of the full baths. It is a huge room w lots of open floor space. The guest bedroom w double bed sleeps 2 and the study has a single bed (sleeps 1 normally or 2 serious snugglers). We can arrange for a double bed in the study—that’d make for comfortable accommodations for three couples in three private rooms. The living room has a comfy couch that sleeps 1. The place is available immediately, today, Friday April 22 through Mon or Tues—please call Nikki at if you are interested or have any questions. $500/night with a preferred three night minimum—but at this point we’ll consider any offer. Description:Half of an historic house in the Marigny district. Charming but completely renovated. Kitchen has granite counters and brand new appliances. Beautiful wooden floors throughout, spacious rooms, including marble and granite in both bathrooms. The rooms are all generous, the ceilings 12 feet....floors all original wood, doors all original including 10-foot pocket doors between the living room and kitchen/dining. Two nice bedrooms with queen size beds. I have had a report that the map photo is out of date. Look at my photos these are up to date A side porch leads you to a large deck and private, fenced-in back yard. I do not allow smoking in the house but you are welcome to light up outside :). I do have a permanent renter on the left side of the house ,(this listing is for the right side}. he has 2 charming dogs which may visit the back yard for a potty break but they are usually indoors. Hot water is fueled by a tankless hot water heater.....so turn the shower on while you are brushing your teeth to allow the hot water to get there :) This space is only minutes away from the French Quarter by bicycle, which I can loan to you. I have 2 -- $100 deposit per bike, refunded when you leave (and the bikes are returned in same condition as received). New Orleans is a wonderful city to explore by bicycle. It's not just Bourbon Street -- most of the locals enjoy the entertainment on Frenchmen Street. There are also lots of restaurants and watering holes within blocks of the house...this neighborhood is one of my favorites to explore on bicycle. This space is located near train tracks....and yes there is a train that comes through and whistles at the intersection...but .we think it adds to New Orleans charm :) PS -- VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: although I list a 2-night minimum stay, I require a 4-NIGHT MINIMUM STAY FOR CHRISTMAS, MARDI GRAS, FRENCH QUARTER FEST AND JAZZ FEST. I am trying to figure out how to incorporate this into my airbnb info....so far airbnb has no application that lets me apply different minimum stays...I'm hoping they will upgrade their site soon.
