Description:Located in the Hisoric Marigny which was voted one of America’s great neighborhoods in 2009, you are near the Frenchmen Street mecca of nightclubs, restaurants and bars and within walking distance to most New Orleans attractions, you can feel like a real New Orleans resident with the advantage of being close to the things you want to see and do. The cottage dates between 1820 and 1840 but we’ve added a few amenities since then like indoor plumbing, electricity, air-conditioning and indoor kitchen and modern bath so the apartment is a pleasant mix of old world charm and modern convenience. Great for a romantic get away, the apartment is a double-parlor (two rooms connected by an archway) with one parlor used as a living room and the other parlor used as a bedroom with queen-size bed. Bath has shower, toilet and sink the kitchen is complete with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee-maker, microwave and toaster.

Description:Stay close to the action but still get a quiet night's rest. We have a shotgun home which we rent half of. We live in one side and rent the other. The apartment has complete privacy, has it's own entrance and is gated out front. The bedrooms are situated on either side of the living room and kitchen area and have their own doors. Each bedroom has two double beds with 450 tc linens and duvets. There are many extra clean pillows and blankets. There is a complete kitchen with full sized appliances, coffeemaker, toaster, blender and microwave. It is also stocked with dishes and cookware. There is cable tv with an xbox for playing games or watching dvds. There is no internet service at the house but there are many cafes with free wifi surrounding us. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub and shower with a comfortable amount of space and height in it. We custom made the shower to be sure of it. We stock plenty of towels and washcloths. We take great pride in our home and are constantly making improvements. We like to keep things very clean and like to be as accommodating as possible. Just ask! We love enjoying our city and love to help other people enjoy it too. We have no children living with us and we do have a sweetheart of an old deaf dog. She stays on our side of the property whenever we have guests and she never makes a sound. We do not allow her into the apartment. Smoking outside too please. Our home is located in the Bywater neighborhood which is situated just 11 blocks (.8 mi/ 1.2km) down river from the French Quarter. It is a very nice walk through the lovely Marigny and even a quicker bicycle ride or taxi ride. There is one off-street parking space and always plenty of room on the street. Our little bohemian neighborhood is packed full of colorful homes, coffee shops, artist's galleries, bars and restaurants. Description:Airy, bright, lovely 1 bed1/ba apartment in the heart of the Marigny, on the safer (river) side of St. Claude. Just two blocks from Mardi Gras Zone (local grocery), Lost Love Lounge and Marie's (two bars), three blocks from Flora's Cafe and Mimi's, and 3.5 blocks to the new cooperative grocery store. This part of town is known for its artists, musicians, youth, racial diversity, gay friendliness, and local character. Most of it did not flood during Katrina, but there's quite a few wind damaged and blighted properties none the less. High ceilings, ceiling fans, windows glazed for privacy from street, central heat/ac, hardwood floors in the living room, and new carpet in the bedroom. There's a high end King size bed, full bath, 46 TV and WIFI. The living room is separated from the kitchen by a long bar with three bar stools. There's a fridge, microwave, toaster, and electric stove/oven. Downsides: the paint and tile floor in kitchen are not perfect, but also not bad for New Orleans (things can be a little rough around the edges here!), and overall it's a very comfortable, well located place! Neighbors are typically quiet during sleeping hours, except on rare party occasions. Unlike many places near here, this is not a shotgun apartment (with roommates walking through your bedroom to theirs)! It can be difficult to find an entire one bedroom apartment to yourself in this part of town.

New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festivalis about 1.0 mile and a 15 minute drive to the French quarter ( taxi is about 16 dollar) and 20 minutes from the New Orleans airport.. Our Historic classic New Orleans raised home is only 3 blocks to the Main Gate of Jazz Festival. Very centrally located - 28 blocks to the Mississippi River, 16 blocks to French Quarter/Marigny and 12 blocks to City Park, Bayou St.John. Our neighborhood is wonderful - a nexus where Esplanade Rdige/Treme meets the Fairgrounds, Faubourg St.John and the edge of Mid City. Many New Orleans musicians live in our neighborhood. Ultimate Jazz Fest experience for those who love to be at the Fest - no waiting in lines or paying for shuttles, taxis or parking! Wake up at your leisure, sit on your front porch planning your day then walk 3 blocks. Come home early or stay 'til the last note knowing it's just a short walk home. One off street parking space is included in the rental. Parking is a premium around here during Jazz Festival. If you have more than 1 vehicle, we have a system that works pretty well. No vehicle? No problem - 2 public transit lines nearby, taxi to most places $8 -$15.
