Description:Built in the 1800s by Judge Louis Duvigneaud, an influential French Creole at the time, this Fauborg St. John gem rests on New Orleanse28099 oldest street. Exuding French and West Indies influence through its inviting, subtle, and, remarkably, efficient architecture, the home is a reflection of the citye28099s long history and rich cultural diversity. r nThe Duvigneaud House is available for 30 day vacation or corporate rates only available . Please call Degas House for short term accommodations. Thank you.The property is owned and operated by the Edgar Degas House, New Orleans' premier museum house and bed and breakfast. r n r nDescription of Property r n r n The galleries facing the street allow for entertainment, people watching, and, when needed, an escape from New Orleanse28099 treacherous sunlight. In the rear, a large fenced in patio is perfect for barbequing, relaxation, and socializing. r n r nEntering the home through beautiful French doors, a spacious home away from home welcomes you. In the bedroom, a good nighte28099s sleep is never a question in its comfy queen-size bed. Traveling with friends, family, or business peers? The pull out in the living room can comfortably serve as a second bed. And though you may be tempted to visit one of New Orleanse28099 wonderful restaurants on any given night, a complete, apartment style kitchen is always there for the moments when you are inspired to cook up some Creole cuisine of your own. r n r nWhen youe28099re ready to step out and experience New Orleans, the French Quarter is a must, but the lovely Midcity neighborhood cannot be overlooked. Several cafes, grocery stores, bars, and impressive restaurants are within walking distances. For an unbeatable po-boy, you can never go wrong at Midcitye28099s own Parkway Bakery and Tavern. If fine dining is what you crave, Lolas and Cafc3a9 Degas are sure to please even the most sophisticated palette. r n r nWhen you are ready to ready to burn off last nighte28099s Fried Catfish and Bread Pudding, take a stroll through City Park or down the halls of NOMA, the New Orleans Museum of Art. Walking and bike trails are also nearby for those hoping to remain disciplined during their stay in a city notorious for its vices. r n r nIf to hear great music is what drew you to New Orleans, a stay at the Duvigneaud House puts you in the action. Located only three blocks from site of Jazz Fest, it is the ideal getaway for music lovers and festival goers. In fact, the sound of trumpets and Zydeco accordions have been known to gently wake those too worn and tired from the previous daye28099s toll of dancing and drinking. In addition, City Park is just a short walk away from the Duvigneaud House, making it the perfect getaway destination for that other big New Orleans music festival, Voodoo Fest. r n r nTo top it off, the French Quarter, the citye28099s epicenter for excitement and energy, is only minutes away by cab (about a $7 fare). Downtown can also easily be accessed by bus, with the nearest bus stop only two blocks away. r n r nWith some much to offer, it is only fitting to say that Duvigneaud House is the embodiment of Big Easy charm and genuine southern comfort. r n

Description:Brand new, barely lived in loft apartment. High ceilings, 1050 square feet with a mezzanine: includes open kitchen common area, separate rooms for laundry and bathroom, walk-in closet, and bedroom. The apartment building is located right on the Mississippi River and has a lovely roof area with nice views of the city. There's also a pool/orange grove/grill area that opens this week. The building is fun and unique residents are largely the creative and entrepreneurial type. Amenities also include free newspapers, wireless internet, free dry-cleaning pickup and delivery, and tight security. Off-street parking is easily available parking in the private parking lot is an additional fee (charged by the building). A restaurant will open up in the building in the next couple of months, too, and they will offer room service to the apartments. The apartment is right on the border of the Bywater and Marigny neighborhoods. You’ll be in walking distance to many yummy restaurants, art galleries, a food co-op, bars, yoga, and Frenchmen Street. The beginning of the French Quarter is 4/5ths of a mile away. Between your feet and your fingertips you should have everything you want -- All the basics you might need - detergents, towels, sheets, blankets, coffee, tea, cream, eggs, oatmeal, milk, etc. - will be provided. Hollygrove Market and Farm will deliver a box of in-season, locally grown fruits and vegetables ($28), fresh eggs, and/or milk twice weekly if you’re interested, too. I'll provide a list and map with all this info, recommendations, etc. Now more about my loft! - It has nice new appliances. The kitchen has standard appliances plus a juicer (if you don't already have one, you're going to want to get one after using mine)! The rest of the common area features a trundle daybed (with two twin size Temper-Pedic beds), large desk, all-in-one wireless printer, dining cabinet, two tables – one I use as a dining table, the other for my art/creative stuff among a few other items. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower with great water pressure. Each apartment has its own hot water heater so hot water never runs out. The large walk-in closet and bedroom are located upstairs. The queen size bed in the bedroom is very comfortable! Because I recently moved in, the place may look a little different when you arrive than from the pictures... I plan on doing some decorating and maybe rearranging some furniture. Any which way, it'll be nice :)
