Cradled by the Suislaw National Forest and Cascade Head, Neskowin is a small village with about 200 permanent residents. Excellent hiking is nearby at Cascade Head, a 12,000-acre experimental forest just south of Neskowin. The Nature Conservancy property offers trails winding through five ecosystems, including the last remaining coastal prairie in the country, according to its signs. The hike yields some of the coast 's most breathtaking views.
